Clean and Simple Maple Leaf

I hope you all had a great day!  It was hot here today...very hot.  42+ degrees C (or about 108 F) with the humidity.   The boys played outside a bit this morning but by this afternoon it was WAY too hot!  We did however go to see Madagascar 3 with them late afternoon.  Caleb loved it...Jacob got bored!  Go figure!

Okay, another sneak peek at some new Holiday Catalogue goodies.  Unfortunately my picture does not do the new Champagne glimmer paper justice.  It's just beautiful and more coppery to me than champagne but none the less!  I also love the new buttons...The metallic colour is so perfect for fall!  It's also hard to tell from this picture but the leaf is embossed with the new Early Espresso Embossing Powder! Oh and don't forget my favourite...the new Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder.

This week's CAS-ual Friday's challenge card is to create a Clean and Simple card using "Text".  I think my maple leaf qualifies perfectly!

Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Wonderfall, Falling Leaves (retired)
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark
Other: Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Brushed Bronze Designer Buttons, Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow with another Holiday Sneak Peek card!

  1. What an amazing creation! I absolutely LOVE that leaf with embossed text! Nice job on this one!

  2. Everything shows beautifully, Jen! It's a stunning card!

  3. Gorgeous color combo, and that embossed wood pattern looks just fab! What a great card you've made!

  4. Fabulous card! It is super balanced, the text leaf is gorgeous and the contrast between the woodgrain and the glitter... WOW!
Thanks so much for playing with us this week at CAS-ual Fridays!

  5. What a wonderful card!! LOVE the texted leaf...the colors and textures...the attention to the details...simply lovely:)!! Thanks for being a part of the challenge this week at CAS-ual Fridays:)!!

  6. Love your card. Curious - how easy is it to line up the stamped images on the BigZ die cut. I wish they were framelits. Did you have to use the stampamajig?

  7. Oh my - that IS hot!! I hope you're figuring out a way to stay cool!! This project is so fun - great use of the text application!! Love everything about it! Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS-ual Fridays! We're so glad you did!

  8. I love this card and am trying to figure out a way to cut the leaf and stamp the leaf so that the ink is centered. Difficult! I am using 3m post it and then my Stamp a ma jig. There has to be an easier way. Any suggestions:)

    1. Hi Lyn!
I tried the post it and found it didn't work so well so decided to use SNAIL. I use a bit of snail and stick the leaves right to my work surface. They don't move as much stuck down. I then use my Stamp-a-ma-jig. Sometimes they don't always ended up centred...
