CAS(E) This Donut!

Hello!
Happy Wednesday again!  I should have gotten my act together yesterday and gotten this post up!  It completely slipped my mind.  I hope you're having a great day!  It is a beautiful, sunny, warmish day in Southern Ontario.  The temperature is perfect for January!  We're heading into another cold snap so we will enjoy the sun and the warmth today!

I love the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!  It was so fun and I needed another Valentine's Day card!  I really should be making my husband a birthday card since that happens first but I was in a Valentine's Day kind of mood!

I totally love the the Donut You Know stamp set and Confetti Cut from Reverse Confetti!  It is super cute and worked perfectly for the card I wanted to make!  I decided using Red Glimmer paper for the hearts would work - but the hearts were a little harder to stick on than I had anticipated.

If you wonder why the donut looks a little funny - it's just Glassy Glaze Enamel!  I wanted my donut to have an authentic glazed look.  The glaze didn't work as well over the glimmer paper as it has in the past using regular card stock or DSP for the "sprinkles"!  Yes, that is another stitched rectangle you see.  Sorry - I love them.  I can't stop using them!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Stamps: Donut you Know (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Other: Donut Confetti Cuts, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals, Glassy Glaze Enamel

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches #171

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are having a great week!  We are battling a cold at our house.  So far, just the boys have been down for the count and I would love to leave it that way!  Poor little Jacob is just so tired at night he can barely keep his eyes open!  Thankfully both boys are able to sleep very well at night!

Being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our fabulous hostess this week is the talented Rita Wright!  You need to head over to her blog in a bit and check out the beautiful cards she creates - and don't forget that absolute sweetheart of a little girl she has!
Now, this sketch has one GIANT circle on it.  By now, most people know how I feel about circles!  This circle was also too huge to be accommodated by my new Donut die from Reverse Confetti!  I must admit that this one stumped me for a while.  I tried to make a tag to be like Jen Mitchell and then tried some flowers to be like Narelle Farrugia but it just didn't work!

I remembered that I had my Daisy Die from Stampin Up and thought I would put it to work!  I may have tried a pink one instead of a white one but it just didn't look right!  I tried a million combinations of paper before I found one that worked.  Cards sometimes do not come together in 10 minutes like I'd like!   If you ever find that please know, you're not alone!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Stamps: In A Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Big Daisy Die, Stitched Rectangle Dies (Lil' Inkers), Vellum, Basic Rhinestones,  Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the design team has created!  We can't wait to see what you will come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!

Retro Sketches Shaker Box

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you got a chance to check out this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and are pondering what kind of card you'll make this week!

I had a few minutes to play in my craft room this afternoon.  It was so nice to be down there but man, it was cold for some reason.  I nearly froze!  I have my hoodie zipped up as far as it would go!!!  I must be getting old!

I couldn't resist playing along with this week's retro sketches challenge!  I loved the sketch and wanted to try out some more new things that I had purchased after Christmas!

I had ordered the Border Builders Die from Lil' Inkers and wanted to try out the "cloud" die.  I thought it would be the perfect accent in the corner.  I have never made a skaker box.  I know there's a video or two out there but I just thought I would give it a whirl on my own.  I threw in some of the In Colour SU Sequins (as few Bermuda Bay and Silver ones too!) and I was off to the races.  I think ti's a good start!

I added a banner from the "Celebrate Today" stamp set and called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Costal Cabana
DSP: Fresh Prints DSP Stack
Stamps: Celebrate Today
Ink: Basic Black
Other: 4X4 Journal Die (My Creative Time), Balloons Framelits Die, Border Builders Die (Lil' Inkers), Stitched Rectangle Die, Foam Tape, Sequins

I made another card for one of my other Valentine's!  I had to make sure it had an airplane on it as well.  I don't want anyone to think they missed out on an airplane!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Stamps: Fun Paper Airplane, Plane and Simple (both My Creative Time)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Border Builders Die (Lil' Inkers),  Anytime Tags (Lil' Inkers), Sentiment Flag Additions Die (Lil' Inkers), Stitched Rectangle Die (Lil' Inkers), Fun Paper Airplane (My Creative Time)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches #170

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We've had some strange weather here again. I can't believe that it's the middle of January and we have no snow.  Nothing at all.  It's rather strange.  The kids don't mind because they play soccer outside at school on breaks so they prefer having no snow!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  The fabulous Jen Mitchell has created this beauty for us.  I love Jen's style of card making so much!  I spend a lot of time looking at her blog!!!  You should head over there and check it out!

I couldn't wait to try out my new "Donut You Know" stamp set and Confetti Cuts from Reverse Confetti!  I know that having a donut set would help with those "circle" cards that the FMS gals like to throw my way!!!  I thought I'd break it in on this card as well!  I added some Glassy Glaze Enamel to the "glaze" of the donut to make it look really gooey!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP
Stamps: Donut You Know (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Donut You Know Confetti Cuts, Circle Garland Confetti Cuts, Glassy Glaze Enamel, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you get a chance to check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog and see what the Design Team has created for you!

Have a wonderful day!

Colour Q Chevrons!

Hello!
Happy Sunday!  Hope you've had a great weekend!  I can't believe that the weekend is over already.  They definitely go by too fast.  I am thankful that we don't have too many events planned on our weekends so we do get to spend lots of time together.

I was able to spend a few minutes in my craft room on yesterday while the boys were running some errands.  I took a peek at the colour combination at this week's ColourQ challenge and decided to give it a whirl.

I couldn't wait to try my new Build a Chevy Background stamps from My Creative Time.  They really are super fun!  I may be back tomorrow night with a very similar care (in different colours) using the same set!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Night of Navy
Stamps: Build a Chevy Background (My Creative Time), Sending You (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder
Other: Dimensionals

Thanks again so much for stopping by!

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Plane and Simple!

Hello!
Happy Friday!  I love Friday's!  Friday nights at our house entail the couch and the TV!  Tonight the boys chose to watch two episodes of Wild Kratts!  They love that show and I must admit I'm right there with them!  They have learned so much and for my youngest, having him sit for 30 minutes is a total bonus!

I had a few minutes the other day to whip up a card for this week's Retro Sketches challenge.  Now, my take on the sketch may be a stretch.  Oh, that might rhyme, sorry about that!

I recently purchased the Fun Paper Airplane Die and the Plane and Simple Airplane Stamp set from My Creative Time.  Of course in our house these will be a HUGE hit!!!  I can't wait to make a few more cards with it!!! I though it would be perfect to do a Valentine's Day card for one of my sweet boys!  The inside of the card says "I love You" but of course I forgot to take a picture of that!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Red Glimmer
DSP:  Stacked with Love DSP Paper Stack
Stamps: Fun Paper Airplane, Plane and Simple (My Creative Time)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Anytime Tags Die Set 2 (Lil' Inkers),  Fun Paper Airplane Die (My Creative Time), Itty Bitty Punch Pack (Heart - SU), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll visit again soon!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #169

Hello!  Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're all having a great week!  I can't believe it's almost the middle of January.  The days are slowly getting longer and I'm enjoying ever extra minute of daylight we get each day!

We have a fabulous new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our very own, and fabulously talented Jennifer Timko has created a great sketch for us!   Now, I'm sure as you look at the sketch and see that GIANT circle sitting there you started laughing wondering what I thought.  We won't talk about that.  That circle and I are not on speaking terms!

As I mentioned in my previous post, the stitched rectangle dies from Lil' Inkers are going to get a lot of use on each and every card.  The Coffee Cozy stamp set will as well!  I just love it (and all the fabulous sayings that it comes with)!  Now, I want to give this card to my husband for Valentine's day but it really should say "You're the milk in my tea".  I don't actually drink coffee but tea and I, we're inseparable!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Kraft, Red Glimmer
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Stamps: Coffee Cozy (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Polka Dot Textured Embossing Folder, Coffee Cozy Dies, Itty Bitty Accents Punch, Rectangle Stitched Frame Dies, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out what the design team has come up with to inspire you!  You will not be disappointed!

Have a great week!

CAS(E) This Sketch and a Flamingo!

Hello!
Can you believe how cold it is out there?  Maybe only for those of you who live in Ontario!  We are having a very cold and windy day out there.  The kids were bundled this morning and I doubt they'll even get outside much today - if at all.  We have a rule that they can't be out if it's -20C or below.  The kids that are bundled would be fine but there are those that show up to school with no coat, hats or mitts.

On a cold day like today, I love the looks of this cute pink Flamingo!  I had a chance on the weekend to play with some of my new stamps from Reverse Confetti!  I love them!  Only a handful of you would know of my love of flamingos!  Only real ones - I don't collect things with flamingos on them!

I have really missed playing along at CAS(E) this sketch and so this was the first place I went when I had a few moments.  I love the sketch and thought my sweet little friend worked perfectly!

I really do love the stitched rectangle mats.  I apologize now but I think they'll be used on every card from now on.  I can't help it - I really do love them that much!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Fabulous Flamingo (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Basic Black
Other: Stitched Mats (Lil' Inkers), Silver Sequins (SU), Fabulous Flamingo Confetti Cuts, dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'll be back tomorrow morning with this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #168

Hello!
Happy New Year!  Can you believe it's January already?  That break went so fast!  We had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!  The boys and I spent some time with my parents.  They sure love being with their Grannie and Papa!  I can't imagine how quiet my parent's house was when we left!!!

We have a  great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today!  The fabulous Amy O'Neill brings us this week's great sketch!  Another one that's super versatile!  I love Amy and her beautiful cards!  Head over to her blog and enjoy yourself for a while!
I was fortunate to receive some money for Christmas and ordered myself some stuff from Lil' Inkers! I was so excited when my order showed up the other day!  Talk about fast shipping!!!  I couldn't wait to use it!

My sweet friend Jeanette's birthday is on Tuesday.  She loves herself a good decaf caramel macchiato from Starbucks!  I couldn't imagine making her a card without this cup! I still had some Bermuda Bay paper on my table and decided to work with it along those fabulous Bermuda Bay sequins that you will find in the new Occasions catalogue!  You will love them!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Real Red, Basic Black, Silver
Stamps: Coffee Cozies, Sentiment Flags, Sentiment Flags Additions
Ink: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay
Other: Stitched Mats, Coffee Cozies Die, Sentiment Flags Die, Bermuda Bay Sequins, Stylish Stripes Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the design team has created for you!  We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!
