Freshly Made Sketches #97

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope everyone is having a great week!  The boys and I did some glow in the dark bowling the other day and enjoyed a visit with Grannie and Papa (my parents) today!  We are getting ready to head on a little vacation and the boys are going to have a little visit with my mom and dad!  We will be heading out Thursday morning to Kauai, Hawaii!   I won't be commenting on any cards this week so please don't think I don't love what you've created!

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today!  Today's fabulous sketch comes from Jennifer Timko!  We at FMS are so proud of Jen for making it onto the Stampin' Up! Aritsan Team.
I didn't know what to do for this card!  I loved the sketch but didn't feel the creative juices flowing.  I was searching through my DSP stash and found my favourite - Orchard Harvest - and couldn't resist.  We have been having some chilly weather here and the cool nights have reminded me of fall weather.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, More Mustard (retired), Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade (retired)
DSP: Orchard Harvest (retired)
Stamps: Six-Sided Sampler
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, Basic Pearls, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  Head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the beautiful cards the design team has created!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Have a great week!

Retro Birthday

Hello!
Hope you had a great day!  I had a lovely walk this morning in the wonderful fresh air!  It is hard to believe that last week when I walked it was 36 with the humidex and this morning there was a wind chill of 12!!!  Oh how I love our crazy Canadian weather!

Today's card was created for this week's Retro Sketches challenge!  I loved the sketch this week and had a few minutes the other day to create this card!  I was a little hung up on the colours but with help from my great friend Rita Wright and her colour coach (I don't have an updated one) I was able to ascertain that Pool Party and Bermuda Bay are friends!

I hadn't used my Daisy die in a while and I absolutely love it!  I used some Quatrefancy DSP to create the yellow smaller daisy!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Pool Party
DSP: Quatrefancy Specialty, Brights DSP Paper Stack
Stamps: Four You
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Other: Daisy #2 Die (retired), Corner Rounder

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches #96

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  The boys are loving their French camp so I'm happy!  We've been playing board games in the afternoon and Caleb has been working on his reading!  He's doing a reading program through the local library and Christian bookstore.  Mom is trying to be very patient as we read together for 1/2 an hour to an hour a day!  He's doing really well and I'm really proud of his determination!

Wednesday brings us a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week's fabulous hostess is Amy O'Neill!  Amy makes such beautiful cards and I'm so thankful that she's joined our design team! I also really love her creative sketch this week!

Apparently I thought I needed another birthday card with butterflies on it!  I decided that grey and pink would be the colours of the day today!  I do love them together!  I decided to use an embossed tag since trying to find DSP that matched was not going well.  I wanted to keep the background clean and white (it's my new obsession!).

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Melon Mambo
DSP: Brights DSP Paper Stack
Stamps: Four You
Ink: Melon Mambo
Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Basic Rhinestones, Melon Mambo Ribbon, Chevron Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

Masculine CTS Birthday!

Hello!
Hope you had a great day today!  The boys spent the morning at a French camp which they both really liked.  Caleb was responsible for ensuring that Jacob behaved!  Ha!  I don't even want to know what really happened!  I did some cleaning and grabbed some fruit from the grocery store - nothing too exciting!

Today's card comes courtesy of the new sketch at the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge! I do love their sketches and when I saw the hexagons I couldn't wait to use the new Six-Sided Sampler from Stampin' Up!  I am in need of some masculine cards so I wanted to make this in more neutral colours.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Six-Sided Sampler, Pennant Parade
Ink: Versamark
Other: Early Espresso Embossing Powder, White Embossing Powder, Hexagon Punch, Epic Day Washi Tape, SU Sanding Block

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a fabulous day!

Mojo Monkeys!

Hello!
I trust you had a good week/weekend.  It's been busy here.  The boys were home with me last week so that meant zero card making!  Trevor decided to take the boys to the flying field on Saturday with him so that meant that I did get some card making done!!! Yay!

I had a customer request for a baby shower card with brown, orange and yellow monkeys on it.  I decided to alter the Mojo Monday sketch slightly and instead of just one "star" to add three monkeys!  I tried different embossed background (sigh...) but decided the polka dots looks best for a baby shower card.

I like that the shower card is different looking and not traditional colours!  It was fun to make!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso
Stamps: Fox and Friends (retired), Cuddles and Kisses
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso
Other: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Pumpkin Pie Taffeta Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow with another card!  Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #95

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are all having a great week.  I consider this our first week of summer vacation since we don't actually have anything planned!  I am super excited!  If only the weather would cooperate and we would get some slightly cooler, less humid temperatures!

Today we have a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our hostess this week is our fabulous Narelle Farrugia!  She is the queen of layers and beautiful bows.  Her card this week is no exception!
I must say that this sketch threw me for a loop.  I am not the queen of layers and I never know what to do when there are several "boxes" to work with.  I may have tried a few versions of this card before I decided on this one!  I'm a little bummed that the Perfectly Preserved stamp set has retired.  I must say that I do love it.  I paired some Calypso Coral up with the new Crisp Cantaloupe!   I am somewhat satisfied with the results.  I added a little Dazzling Diamonds on the flower bunches to make them sparkle!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe
DSP: Tea for Two
Stamps: Perfectly Preserved
Ink: Calypso Coral, Early Espresso, Old Olive
Other: Cannery Framelits, Itty Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #94

Good Morning!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope your week has been going well!  I apologize for being MIA most of this week and last week as well!  Summer Camp has started at our church.  We have about 750+ kids coming every day and I have discovered I'm not as young as I used to be!  At the end of the day I'm pretty tired.  Pretty much all of my ink and all of my cutting implements are at the church right now so even if I wanted to make a card...it wouldn't be happening!

Today brings us a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week's awesome sketch is brought to us by the lovely and very talented Linda Suarez.  I loved the angled panel on this week's sketch.  It's so different and I knew right away what I wanted to do for my card (which almost never happens).

I decided to use the new Four You (again!).  I do love the sentiments in this set!  I hadn't used my Beautiful Wings Embosslit in some time so I decided to get it out and use it before I sent it off to Summer Camp!  Sorry this isn't the greatest picture...it was dark and dreary when I was trying to take the photo!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo
DSP: Polka Dot Parade
Stamps: Four You
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has come up with!  I must say - they are uber fabulous!

Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #93

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  Having a holiday long weekend sure is making this week fly by!  Caleb is attending a Karate camp every morning this week and Jacob is at my parents for the week.  He is having the time of his life.  This is his first time away from mom for more than 2 days!  You aren't going to be seeing too many cards from me for the next two weeks.  I am elbow deep in preparations for our church's summer camp next week.  A friend and I are running the Card Making Elective...needless to say I'm trying to prepare cards and other projects for 30 very excitable kids every day!

So...enough about me!  Alissa Chilton (don't you just LOVE her cards?!) has created a fabulous sketch for us over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I found it a lot trickier than I thought I would.  That square was hard to work with.  I don't have a lot of stamp sets that work in squares so I had to make something work!

I really do love the new Cycle Celebrations.  I couldn't wait to use this cute little bike.  I discovered that it fit perfectly in this square.  I decided to emboss it in silver so it stood out on the DSP.
I decided to combine this week's sketch with this weeks' Dynamic Duo challenge.  The colour challenge this week was Basic Grey and a colour of my choice - Daffodil Delight!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
DSP: Quatrefancy Specialty DSP
Stamps: Cycle Celebrations
Ink: Basic Grey, Versamark
Other: Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by this week!  I hope you have a great day!  Please take a moment to check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the beautiful cards the design team has created for you!
