Witch's Hat

Hello!
We survived another day!  I just got in from bootcamp and I'm feeling the burn!  I'm in "training" to do the CN Tower Climb for the United Way.  My goal is to beat my husband...not sure it's going to happen but I'll give it my best shot!

I was going through some of my favourite blogs the other day and came across this great project over on Penny Thomas' blog (Penguin Stamper).  You can see her blog here.   I've mentioned before that I'm not a big Halloween fan but my neighbour Owen is getting me into it!  I saw this cute hat made from the Petal Cone Die and decided to give it a try.  It's super "easy" to do once you get it all figured out (I embossed the first piece backwards so had to do it over again!).  I found cutting the paper a bit tricky but there are dimensions listed on Penny's blog!  I decided to use the scallop circle punches and the Mixed Medley spider web stamp to top it all off!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Silver Glimmer
DSP: I totally forget what it's called..it was out of it's wrapper and in my scraps!  Help me out!
Stamps: Mixed Medley
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Spider Web Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestone, Large Scallop Die, Scallop Circle Punches, Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #54

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I survived my first shift in the kindergarten room!  The class was good and I was tougher than I needed to be just so there weren't any sandwiches flying around!  The teacher has a class of 19 and 13 of them were boys!  Not sure who balanced that class!!!  We'll see how it goes on Thursday and Friday!

Wednesday's also mean a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week the fabulous Jennifer Timko brings us a great sketch which I deviated from a little (sorry Jen!).  Jen's sketch is for a square card but I have this "thing" against square cards.  Don't ask....I'm not really sure what it is.  Same thing I feel towards circles!!!

I want to get my Christmas cards done ahead of time and it looks like they'll all be different this year!  I really do love the little Festival of Prints DSP pack.  It's so handy and I can see using it for way more than Christmas cards!  The Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder is one of my favourites.  I love it's look both for Christmas and "regular" cards!

Hop on over to the FMS blog and check out the other fantastic cards the design team has come up with!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP: Festival of Prints
Stamps: Ornament Keepsake, Petite Pairs
Ink: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Black Embossing Powder, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Holiday Ornament Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

My Cup of Tea

Hello!
Sorry for the lack of posts lately!  I'm currently battling a cold - a nasty cold and haven't felt much like creating.  I also have a new "job"!  I'm working in one of the kindergarten classes doing lunch duty two days a week. Job starts tomorrow.  Hopefully I'm feeling better!  I've heard the last lady quit because there was some ham flying around the classroom.  I'm a little nervous!  This could go rather poorly!!

Okay, today's card is for the Paper Players and Fab Friday challenges.  I really like the sketch from the Paper Players this week.  I had some trouble with the colours though...I actually don't own any Sahara Sand!  How is that possible?  It's probably criminal for a SU demonstrator to NOT own Sahara Sand!  I had to substitute some crumb cake buttons instead!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Gray, So Saffron, Whisper White
Stamps: Tea Shoppe
Ink: Basic Gray, So Saffron
Other: Crumb Cake Buttons, Wide Oval Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Basic Pearls, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Fall Banner

Hello!
The weekend is here!  It's been a busy week here and I've had some card orders to fill along with trying to work on a few other things!  My husband is in charge of a flying event this weekend so we will be spending a good chunk of tomorrow at the field...praying for decent weather!

Today's project is based on my Halloween one.  I had seen some other fall ones on Pinterest that were sort of similar.  I wanted to try my hand at one using the Orchard Harvest DSP and the Autumn Accents Die.  I used MDS2 to create letters...I actually printed ones out, traced them and then cut these ones out.  I used my home printer and I didn't like the colours I originally used (though the same as these colours they didn't turn out too well printed).  I added a lot of texture since I LOVE texture!  Threw in some buttons and some bling and voila!  Now...you might be wondering why it's laying on my kitchen floor...the ribbon came undone and I seriously have had NO tine to come down to either re-glue it or stitch it.

The chipboard I used for the background, though not sold by SU came in a paper pack!!!  I just cut it 4X4 with my trimmer and then used a template to round the corner since it wouldn't fit in my corner rounder.

Supplies:
Cardstock: More Mustard, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Lucky Limeade, Raspberry Ripple
DSP: Orchard Harvest
Other: Autumn Accents Die, Woodgrain, Perfect Polka Dot, Square Lattice, Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Wood Buttons, Bronze Buttons, Basic Rhinestones, Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Freshly Made Sketches #53

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I love Wednesday's.  Wednesday's Jacob and I get to spend the day together!  These days will soon be over so I must learn to treasure them more and more!  Funny enough Jacob told me all about the kids that didn't obey Mrs. Cooper yesterday!  He's hilarious.  I thought for sure he'd be at the top of that list but so far so good!

Wednesday's also bring a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches! This week's sketch is brought to us from the land down under and the fabulous Tui Nathan!  The stripes kinda threw me.  I didn't quite know what to do with them.  I decided to reduce the number slightly since I wanted to use wider stripes and finally crack open the Moving Forward stamp set!  It's so cute!  I paper pieced this stamp together a bit!  I thought it should be a two-toned boat!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Real Red
DSP: In Colour (2012-2014) DSP Paper Stack
Ink: Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Real Red
Stamps: Moving Forward, Itty Bitty Banners
Other: Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder, 2 3/8" Scalloped Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Dynamic Duos Halloween

Hello!
How did it get to be Monday already?!  The weekend went by way too fast!  I have decided to start running again...my body is protesting significantly.  My age is starting to show I think!!!

Okay so today's card is for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge!  This week's colours are Lucky Limeade and Basic Black with a dessert option of a Halloween theme!  I am not a big fan of Halloween cards but need a few to send to my boys...or leave at the breakfast table!!!  I really do love the Googly Ghouls stamp set.  Those little ghouls are so cute - especially once you add those googly eyes!   I embossed the card after I glued the lucky limeade and basic black pieces on the card.  I love embossing way too much!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Stamps: Googly Ghouls
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Chevron Textured Embossing Folder, Lucky Limade Brads, Bitty Banners Framelites, Circle Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Googly Eyes, Dimensionals

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge

 Hello!
The weekend is here!  I had a great day today (Saturday)! My husband let me sleep in a tad which was wonderful.  The boys went out to the flying field this afternoon and left me in a quiet house!  It was lovely....absolutely lovely!  I created a special wall hanging this afternoon for my neighbour Owen who LOVES Halloween.  I can't say I'm a big Halloween fan myself however he and his brother have drawn pumpkins all over the driveway and the anticipation in their house is building for October 31st!  I'll have some pictures for you tomorrow!

Today's card is for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  I love Black and White cards!  I decided to add is some red to this one!  I love red!  I wanted to use the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Punch.  I should have used the Delicate Doily Embossing folder or the Vintage Wallpaper but I chose the Fancy Fan instead!  I cut a flower out of the black before I adhered the red flower on.  I also embossed the flower in clear embossing powder!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red
Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black
Other: Real Red Satin Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, 3/4" Circle Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Bitty Banners Framelites, Dimensionals, Blossom Punch

Here's a picture of my little sweetheart before he headed off to his first full day of school.  Hard to believe it.  He did awesome!  He said he had a great day and came home absolutely exhausted!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

the Paper Players is my cup of tea!

Hello!  The week is almost over!  Woohoo!  Jacob has another school visit tomorrow (Thursday) but only for an hour and a half.  He goes for a full day on Friday...I'm quite excited!  He's not too sure about it now. I guess we shall see how it goes.

Okay so I had received as a gift (from my fabulous Mommy) some PTI stamps and I couldn't wait to break into these little gems.  My neighbour Christine is lovely and she took me out for tea after school drop off yesterday.  She had an exhausting day yesterday and I wanted to repay the favour for her and thank her/invite her out for tea!

I started with the colours from The Paper Players and combined them with the sketch from Retro Sketches!  Love, love, love both of these challenges!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Basic Black
Stamps: Heart to Heart #1
Ink: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze

Sour Cream Treat Containers

Hello!  The weekend is over.  How does it fly by so quickly?  This week will be a busy one.  I have a routine follow up appointment at the cancer centre tomorrow morning.  I have the privilege of taking Jacob with me!  This should be interesting!!!  He's not one for staying in one place for very long!

Today's card...well, it isn't a card!  It's a "box"?  Maybe a package!  I have always wanted to try a sour cream container!  I made this one for the SUO challenge!  This week's challenge was to create a box or bag.  I kinda think this is a little of both!  I can't believe how super easy these little cuties are!  Take a look at Heather Summer's video here and you'll be amazed!  I crimped the ends for an added look.  I wanted to use the Mixed Medley set since it was so cute for Halloween!  I might just make these for Caleb's class this year!!!  Though I had better get my act together!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
DSP: Howlstooth and Scaringbone
Stamps: Mixed Medley
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black
Other: Silver Brad, 1 1/4" Scalloped Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle punch, Black Satin Ribbon

Merry Monday Sparkles

Hello!
Hope you are ready for the weekend!  I know I am.  I actually thought Caleb would be more tired after a week of school but he wasn't too bad.  I was excited that I didn't have to make any lunches tonight!!!

I wanted to Tackle the Merry Monday sketch this week.  I really love how I can get my Christmas cards at least started before I actually need them!  If I start in January I should be good to go by next Christmas!

Blue and Silver aren't my favourite Christmas colours but I didn't think the snowflake would look too good in a colour other than silver!  I decided to pair the silver up with Midnight Muse (since it's my new favourite!).  I added a lot of dimension to this card oh and don't forget the bling!!!

The embossing folder is retired but I still do love it for Christmas cards!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
DSP: Midnight Muse Paper Stack
Stamps: Quint-Essential Flower, Mixed Medley
Ink: Midnight Muse, Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Embossing Folder (I can't remember the name...sorry!), Scalloped Circle Punches, 3/4" Circle Punch, Basic Rhinestones

Okay so one more picture of my babes...this is Caleb's first day of school (Tuesday).  I made them pose together...one of them was more excited than the other...tonight though they couldn't wait to sleep together!  They are in Jacob's bunk beds happy as little bugs in rugs!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fabulous weekend!

The Paper Players Fall Challenge

Hello!
How is your week going?  Jacob had his first day of school on Thursday. Well, it wasn't quite a day of school.  It was a half hour visit with the teacher (who was Caleb's teacher for the past two years!).  Mrs. Cooper is wonderful and Jacob loves her (thankfully)!  We had a great visit and he's ready for his next visit next Thursday...the start of kindergarten here is slow and painful!

Okay today's card...yes, it kinda looks like one I've made before but I tweaked it a bit to fit my mood!  I am so in love with the new core'dinations cardstock that I just can't stop using it!  Is that terrible?  I recently "acquired" the Stampin' Up! sanding block...it is so much fun!!!

Today's card is for this week's "The Paper Players" challenge.  Check out their design team's fabulous cards this week!

I love the Wonderfall stamp set and the Autumn Accents die.  I don't know what I'll do when fall is over!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #51

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Yesterday was the first day of school here in Ontario and I sent one of my babes to school today!  Caleb had his first day of Grade 1 and came home happy, excited and looking forward to tomorrow.  Overall it sounds like he had a great day and he has two fantastic teachers!

Wednesday here means that it is also a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Cindy Hall has brought us a great sketch this week!  Check out her blog if you want to see some beautiful cards!!!

I decided I had better get some Christmas cards done since that season will be upon us in no time at all. I really love the Champagne Glimmer Paper and try and use it whenever possible!  I decided to combine that with the Candlelight Specialty DSP.  I mixed in an ornament (stamped with Early Espresso Embossing Powder) from the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set to complete the card!  I used the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Die to cut out the glimmer cardstock then fussy cut around the stamped ornament!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso (Core'dinations), Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
DSP: Candlelight Specialty
Stamps: Four the Holidays (retired), Ornament Keepsakes
Ink: Versarmark, Early Espresso
Other: Dimensionals, Basic Pearls, Finishing Touches Edgelits, Holiday Ormanents Framelits,

Here is a picture of my little cutie on his first day of school!  I made the card he's holding in My Digital Studio (following a template from Heather Summer!).  Oh how the years are flying by too fast!

Hello!
Sorry for being MIA this week!  It was our vacation week and we spent most of our time doing fun things as a family to celebrate the final week of summer before school starts on Tuesday!  I am looking forward to the boys starting school - especially Jacob who starts Junior Kindergarten but it does make me sad to see them growing up so fast!

I found a new challenge online and most of you know I LOVE sketches!    Fab Friday introduced their very first challenge this week and it's a sketch challenge!  Check it out!  I loved this sketch when I saw it I thought about all the wonderful possibilities!  I wanted to keep the sketch fairly clean and I knew immediately that I wanted to use my Aviary set...I hadn't used it in a while and it NEEDED to come out!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake
DSP: In Colour Pattern Stack (Raspberry Ripple)
Stamps: Aviary, Create a Cupcake (sentiment)
Ink: Basic Black, Raspberry Ripple
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Basic Rhinestones, Chevron TIEF,  Raspberry Ripple Dahlia, Word Window Punch
