Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #433

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're all keeping well and haven't gone completely bonkers stuck at home!  I must say that I don't mind being trapped at home.  As an introvert, I'm quite happy at home!!  My little squirrel (aka Jacob) is not so excited about it.  The boys have had a bit too much together time and could use a little time apart.  We'll have to figure out how to make that work!

Well, quarantine aside, we have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the incredible Jen Mitchell!  Jen is the queen of creating super clean and simply amazing cards.  Head over to her blog to check out her creations!
So at first I wasn't too sure what to do with this sketch.  That blob in the centre kinda frightened me.  Then I remembered that I needed to make a masculine 16th birthday card for someone.  I decided to use this sketch as the basis for my card.

I hauled out the old Off the Grid Stamp set from SU and went to work.  Black and silver seemed like a good option for a masculine card so that's what I went with.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Stamps: Off the Grid, Clubhouse (sentiment)
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Large Number Dies, Golf Club Dies

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!

Have an amazing week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #432

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're all still surviving your self isolation and quarantines!  We are getting into a school routine (sort of) and so that helps to fill the days.  The weather has been a little cool and it snowed today so there isn't much interest in being outside.  I guess it is April in Canada and we have to expect some crazy weather!

We have a great sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches from the super talented Jennifer Timko!  Jen is a colouring and flower creating whiz and her cards are always breathtaking!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

So I made the card below first.  I wanted to make a vertical card but the sentiment wouldn't fit so I had to flip the sketch on it's side.  I sure do love coffee cards even though I don't like coffee!  For me it should say "Life Happens, but Tea Helps!"  I then decided to make a second card using one of my favourite dies - the sun 'n clouds from Reverse Confetti!  I wanted a card that was bright and cheery!

Supplies (Sun n Clouds Card):
Cardstock: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
DSP: Gingham 6X6 Stack
Stamps: Well Hello (MFT)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Cloud Embossing Folder, Sun 'n Clouds Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Dimensionals

Supplies (Coffee card):
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Brights 6X6 Stack
Stamps: Cup of Love (MFT)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Mini Cup of Life Dienamics (MFT), Black Jewels, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team created for your inspiration.

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #431

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week so far!  We've had a few cool, dark days and they're calling for snow today.  Snow!!  We usually get one snow fall in April and since my snow tires are off, it can snow any time!!  That being said, it's not like we're really going anywhere so I guess it doesn't really matter if it snows or not!

We have a fantastic new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is one of our colouring queens, Lee Ann Barrett!  Lee Ann creates the most amazing cards so head on over to her blog and check them out!

I was apparently looking at a different sketch when I made my card.  I don't know why I thought that sentiment banner was so thick!  Oh goodness.  Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing!  I had just made a bunch of never-ending cards using the bee paper from Stampin' Up and it was all still sitting on my craft table so I decided I needed to use it again on this card.  I just love it so much.  Who doesn't love sweet little bees?!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold Foil
DSP: Golden Honey Specialty DSP
Stamps: Honey Bee, Well, Hello (MFT)
Ink: Versamark, Memento Black
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Stampin Blends, Well, Hello dies (MFT)

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the cards the Design Team has created for your inspiration!  We also hope you'll play along with our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #430

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a good start to your week!  We've had a good week so far.  The days do seem long when you're kinda stuck at home!  The local parks, trails and conservation areas have all been closed so our amazing hiking trails are no longer available.  I must say it made me a little sad.  Okay, maybe a lot sad.  The kids have been getting some work from school so that is filling part of the day.  Getting used to the new normal is taking me a little longer than I anticipated!

Despite the social distancing and self isolations, we can still make cards!  Yay!  Most of us card makers have hoards and hoards of supplies so we will probably be good from now until eternity!!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our the amazing Jacquie Southas!  Jacquie's cards are often brightly coloured, cheery and always beautiful!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

Okay, so when I first looked at that triangle I didn't quite know what to do with it and then I remembered I had ordered some dies from Modern Frame Dies from Concord & 9th.  I also needed to make a card for a very special lady who is celebrating her birthday today!  Happy Birthday Mom!  You are the best and I hope you have a good day celebrating despite having to stay home!!!

I love the elegance of black and gold and went with that.  White background because who doesn't love white backgrounds?!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Gold Foil
Stamps: Modern Frame (Concord & 9th)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Modern Frame Dies (Concord & 9th), Sweetly Stitched Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles (Lil Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you!

We can't wait to see what you create this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #429

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far.   How are you doing with your social distancing?  My boys are starting to feel the effects of being cooped up inside.  We haven't had the greatest weather here for the last couple of days so we haven't gotten out for a hike - most of our favourite hiking spots have also been closed so we're slowly running out of places to go where we can safely stay away from people!  We have a few days of sun coming our way so we will totally soak in those rays!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Judy Rozema!  Judy's cards area always gorgeous!  Head on over to her blog to check out her fabulous creations!

Okay, so there are a LOT of circles on this sketch.  You see that right?  Ugh.  Let's just say that it took me a while with this one but I had my daisy die out because I had needed it to re-create an old card.  I thought that one of those daisies would be perfect for this sketch!  I opted not to add more daisies (though I probably should have) and added some little butterflies instead!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight
DSP: Botanical Butterfly
Other: Daisies #2 Die, Hi Hey Hello Dies (Concord & 9th), In flight Overlays (Taylored Expressions), Dimensionals, Wink of Stella, 3/4" Circle Punch, Circle Die (Spellbinders), Hammered Metal Embossing Folder

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has come up with!  We can't wait to see what you create this week!

Please stay safe and stay home unless it's necessary!

Have an amazing day!
Jen
