Petite Purses

Hello!
I made some purses using the new Petite Purses Die (for the Big Shot) from Stampin' Up!  I had made one when I first got the die but finally got a chance to sit down again!
It's really fun to make these cute little purses.  They are designed to hold two Hershey Nuggets which I don't think we can get in Canada but they would hold other small chocolates nicely!

First Birthday Overalls

Hello!
I'm so sorry my posts have been sporadic.  I have tendonitis in my stamping hand and have been trying to rest the hand.  Who knew stamping was such a dangerous job?!

That being said...I am taking a little break for the next week to try and help it heal. I'll try and get some old cards posted though!

I needed to make a first birthday card for a friend and had seen some really cute overall cards online and wanted to give one a try.

I didn't use a pattern for the overalls.  I really just cut them freehand (with the help of a ruler)

The frog stamp and die is not Stampin' Up but seemed to work perfectly for this little card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Stamps: Non-SU
Other: Neutrals buttons, Curly Label Punch, 1 3/8" square punch (pockets, neck), Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet, White Gel Pen

Thanks for stopping by!

The Open Sea Retirement

Hello!
For those of you with kids on March Break, I hope you're having a wonderful week off!  I am still totally enjoying being at my parents house and they have been amazing and totally spoiling the boys and I.  I couldn't be happier!  My oldest has announced that he's going to stay here for the entire summer!  We'll see about that.

I was asked by a friend to make retirement cards for two crown attorney's who are retiring next month.

These cards needs to be signed by A LOT of people so they need to be large.

This card isn't you're average card size.  This one is actually 8.5"X11".  Cards this big are a little tough to do!

The first card is for someone who loves sailing...immediately I thought of The Open Sea and the Nautical Expedition DSP!  I started designing this card using Sleepy in Seattle's idea and then expanding!

I will hopefully get the other card done this weekend and post it for you!  The next card is a bit more challenging so I'm a little nervous!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Whisper White
DSP: Nautical Expedition
Stamps: The Open Sea
Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Other: Grommets, Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Dimensionals, Stripes Embossing Folder

MOJO Monday Sketch

 Hello!
I love March Break!  My Dad has been fantastic at looking after the boys so I can have a little break.  We don't have family near us in Burlington so I really only get a "real" break when I'm at my mom and dad's.   Since my dad has been so eager to hang out with the boys, I've been card making with my mom.  It's been wonderful!  I have so appreciated this vacation!

I tackled the MOJO Monday sketch today.  My mom has a few stamp sets that I don't have so I like to use them while I have the chance.

I like the Fabulous Florets stamp set and decided that Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade were the colours of the day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
DSP: Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade
Stamps: Fabulous Florets, Okay...I can't remember what the other set is....
Other: Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Lattice Embossing folder

Field Flowers Sympathy

 Hello!
I haven't fallen off the face of the earth...it may seem that way though.  My kids are on March Break so we are spending it with my parents!  I am enjoying every second of it.  My kids haven't seen Grannie and Papa since Christmas and they are in Heaven!

I had made my card for the Freshly Made Challenge this week last Thursday but only got around to taking a picture today!

A friend of our family passed away last week after a long, hard battle with cancer so I wanted to make a special card for his wife to let her know we are thinking of and praying for her and her family.

The Field Flowers stamp set is one of my all time favourites. It is very versatile and works for pretty much any type of card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Stamps: Field Flowers, Petite Pairs
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Others: Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

Punch Art Castle

Hello!
I hope you're having a good week.  We enjoyed some fabulous weather here in Southern Ontario today.  15 degrees!  I loved it!  The boys were out playing in the sandbox this afternoon - which meant I didn't get a single thing done in my craft room.  Tonight I had bootcamp (again) and I didn't get into my room except to use the garbage can.  Terrible.  Hopefully tomorrow I can get in there and get creating!

It must be punch art week here!  My oldest went to a birthday party for a little girl in his class.  I was super excited to make a little girl card!  I decided to try out a punch art castle that I had seen online.  I found it at Kirsty's Cards n' Scrapping.

I CASE'd Kirsty's design since it was the colours I wanted to use!   I did add in a Happy Birthday after I took the picture of the card then forgot to take another picture!  I'm doing really well this week!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
DSP: Perfect Plum
Ink: Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette
Stamps: Perfect Pennant (stars)
Other: Glitter, Spiral Punch (Castle) , Word Window (Castle Door), Star Punch (flags), Label Die (non-SU for the middle of the bottom section of the castle).

Punch Art Monkey

Hello!
I hope your week is starting out well!  I apologize for no post yesterday...I got in bed and realized I completely forgot to post something!

I wanted to post my punch art monkey card that I made for my son's lunch box.  Like the angry bird card I found several cards online and decided to alter them all to fit a monkey that worked with the punches I have.

My son loved this card! I hope he doesn't expect one for tomorrow because I haven't gotten a chance to get in and make another little card for him!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Crumb Cake
Punches: 1 3/8" circle (head), 1" circle (ears), Extra Large Oval Punch (bottom half of face, mouth), Full Heart Punch (Top half of face), Owl punch (eyes, nose).

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge

Hello!  Did you have a great Saturday? I enjoyed a morning to myself which really meant I was able to do some chores around the house without any little helpers!

I wanted to share my submission for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. This week's challenge was to create a CAS (Clean and Simple) baby card!  I happen to know a few people having babies!  Most of them are having girls as well!

This might be a little too pink but there is pretty much NO pink in this house so I tend to go overboard when I get the chance!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Stamps: Baby Bundle, Little Angel (retired)
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Blushing Bride Ruffled Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Heart to Heart Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

Angry Birds!

Hello!
Are you excited for the weekend?!  I am!  I made a baby card for the CAS-ual Friday's challenge BUT I haven't gotten around to taking a picture yet...so that will be my job first thing tomorrow!

I wanted to share a little card I made for my son for his lunch box!  He loves angry birds and I have seen several cute punch art cards and decided to modify some to make one that worked for me!

This cute little card is about 2.75" X 2.75"  He was made using punches...in a variety of shapes and sizes!
The top feathers are made using a 5-petal flower punch (the petals were cut apart).  The same punch was used to create the beak.
The body of the bird was made using a 1 3/4" circle punch.  The same punch was used to make his white breast.
His eyes were made with the Owl Punch
Eyebrows were made with the Heart to Heart Punch (using the middle sized heart).

My oldest loved his card and apparently so did his classmates.  Today he received a little punch art monkey card which I'll post at some point this weekend!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black. Real Red, Daffodil Delight
Pen: Basic Black
Other: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 5-Petal Flower Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Owl Punch

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge

Hello!
I am so looking forward to Friday and the weekend!  It has been a long week and I'm very excited to have my husband home with us so we can have some family fun.

I was excited that I could "play" the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.  The sketch was right up my alley being fairly clean and simple!

I hauled out the good ol' Aviary stamp set that I must say is one of my favourites.  I haven't used it in a while so I decided that I would try it out on this particular sketch!

I make a lot of birthday cards...I should probably switch it up one of these days!  Someone requested some wedding cards so that's next on the list!

I hope you have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardstock:  Whisper white, Basic Grey, Red Riding Hood.
