Hello!
We survived Thursday and we're onto Friday! The soccer field was some HOT last night. I actually didn't stay for Jacob's game and took Caleb home for a shower since I was afraid he was going to keel over on me! Last day of school today! I have a big boy heading into Grade 1! I don't know how that's even possible! It feels like it was just yesterday he was a tiny baby! Speaking of babies...my dear friend Anne-Marie delivered a healthy, but tiny baby girl three weeks early today! I am so sad that we don't live close anymore and it will be a while before I meet this new princess! I know what I'll be doing tomorrow!!!
Okay, enough rambling! Today's card is for the Sunday Stamps challenge. Holly over at Hollybeary Creations has "started" this great weekly challenge...stop by their blog and check it out! This week's challenge is super fun! I saw the dots on her blog post and knew I wanted to incorporate them into my card this week!

Jen, I love how you have incorporated the 'dots' into your card - super cute! That ribbon treatment is wonderful! Thanks for joining the fun at Sunday Stamps :)
ReplyDeleteReally sweet card! I am a huge fan of polka dots and love that you pressed them all. I can see myself casing this card for sure! Happy you joined us at Sunday Stamps - hope to see you back again soon :)
ReplyDeleteThis is fun. Love all the polka dots - even on the label! I also love the ruffley ribbon. Thanks for playing along at Sunday Stamps.
ReplyDeleteLove all the embossed circles and the ribbon is just awesome! I can never get mine so perfect. Thanks for playing with us at Sunday Stamps!
ReplyDeleteNice card! How did you make the seam binding ribbon scrunch up like that?
ReplyDeleteOkay for the seam binding...try a grab a single (or maybe two) threads from the middle of your seam binding...that doesn't really make sense does it?! First of all - do not pre-cut your seam binding or this won't work. Take the seam binding and try and separate the threads at the end. You should then be able to grab one or two. Once you have them, hold on to them and pull them out...as you pull out the seam binding will gather. It's actually fairly simple to do...Once your seam binding is gathered the length you need, adhere (tape?) the one end down before you cut it. Once it's cut those threads are loose and can pull out and then you'll lose your gathering.
ReplyDeleteI'll see if I can find a video of it and pass along the link. You can do the same with satin ribbon but the seam binding is significantly easier.
Here's a link to a video that Mary Fish did. She used satin ribbon but you do the same thing with the seam binding.

Thanks so much for the instructions, Jen! I love the look of the scrunched ribbon! I can't wait to try it :)
