Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I'm all messed up with my days because we ended up having a snow day on Monday! The boys loved being home and being able to stay in their PJ's and play outside in the snow with the neighbours and their dog! The boys had a blast! It was nice to be able to have a nice day of relaxing and playing!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week! The fabulous Linda Callahan brings us this week's beauty! Linda makes such amazing cards! Head over to her blog and check them out!
Now, that giant heart is very much like giant circle to me. Maybe even worse! I don't know why I have trouble with shapes. I think the main reason this sketch really challenged me was because was was determined to make my husband's birthday card with it (which was my first mistake). Once I gave up the notion that this would be his birthday card, it all came together a lot easier. If you get frustrated making cards, don't worry, you're not alone!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Stamps: I Like You, Sending You (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Basic Black, Stazon
Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Sequins, Twine, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Anytime Tags Dies (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you get the chance to head to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the design team has created for you!
Have a fabulous week!
Jen
Oh Jen Brum I love that you made a tag.....and a stitched one! This is beautiful! You colored those flowers perfectly!
ReplyDeleteYour card is amazing,Jen!! WOW! Loving the pretty colors and the tag is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI think you overcame your fear of shapes just fine with this card! I love these rich colors and your colored flowers are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteTags are always a great "any shape" so keep that in mind next time you see a big circle/heart on a sketch! This card is fabulous and it doesn't look like you struggled with the sketch at all. By the way, when I first read your post, I read that the boys stayed in their PJs all day and played outside - in their PJs! I was thinking that you Canadians are built tough but then I thought, maybe Mum wouldn't let them outside in their PJs LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love those pretty flowers. And I love how you started out making a birthday card for your husband and ended up with this beauty. I can totally relate!
ReplyDeleteJen your card is absolutely beautiful! Love the colours, your flowers and the perfect placement of your sequins! I sometimes get caught too with an idea that I just have to create a certain card, but end up giving up after so much wasted time - then when I change my idea, the card just comes together. I should learn to change my idea earlier so I don't do my own head in!
