Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #103

Happy Wednesday!  I hope everyone is having a great week!  Caleb is loving school.  Jacob still hasn't started his regular schedule.  I'm counting the minutes until Friday!!!  Friday is pantry cleaning day!!!!

Today brings us a few sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week's hostess is your's truly.  I have been feeling highly uninspired these days.  The card above is actually my third attempt at the sketch.  Seriously.  The first one was just so bad I didn't finish it.  The second one you can see if you keep scrolling down...ugh.

I love butterflies and hadn't used my Beautiful Wings embosslit in a long time.  My embosslit is so well used that it has fallen apart and my husband has graciously glued it back together for me - on multiple occasions!

Cardstock:  Whisper white, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Pool Party
DSP: Quantrefancy Specialty
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Here's card #2....
Cardstock: Basic Black, More Mustard
DSP: First Edition
Stamps: Thank You Kindly, Field Flowers
Other: Basic Pearls, Black Ribbon, Dimensionals

Here are the boys back to school photos...finally!  They're growing up too fast!  Thank you MDS for these great signs!!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you're able to join our little challenge this week!   We sure do love seeing those fabulous entries!

Head over to the blog to see the amazing cards the design team has come up with!  I honestly think this is the best design team out there!  I am so thankful to be able to call this great group of ladies my friends!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Wow two for on day! Two beautiful cards and two adorable boys! They are growing fast!

  2. I love them both, Jen! Great sketch for the week! What adorable pics of the boys! :-)

  3. I love both of your cards Jen! Butterflies and bling - perfect match! And the mustard and black are a stunning color combo!

  4. Butterflies in flight are always a good choice. Especially when they can be so colorful and covered in bling! BTW both cards are pretty fantastic!

  5. Well, the third time was definitely the charm -- love the bling-y butterflies. However, I'm not sure why you weren't happy with card #2 -- I love it! This was a fabulous sketch, which I'm sure I'll use again and again. Your boys are adorable, and yes, they grow up much too fast.

  6. Hey Jen, I love both the cards you stamped and your son's pics are cute too. Thanks for your comment on my card too.

  7. Hi Jen! These are GREAT! On the first one, I love how none of the butterflies are the same; different designs, different colors, and different sizes! Very smart. And that second card is just irresistibly ADORABLE. Great job!!

  8. Oh your cards are stunning! It was actually your beautiful butterfly card that made me want to do this challenge :) It was the one I used for my inspiration. Your work is really nice. Your back to school boys are darling too!

  9. Oh my gosh, girl! I can't believe you nixed the second card! Both are incredibly gorgeous! You don't have a clue as to what lack of mojo is! I don't think it's possible for you to make a bad card! Thanks for the great sketch this week. I think you can tell by the gallery what a truly wonderful sketch it is and how much inspiration it provided.

  10. I LOVE the butterfly card so so SOOOOOOOooo much! It's totally going in my inspiration folder. :)
