Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #423

Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week so far!  Can you guys believe we're more than halfway through February already?  Seriously? Where does the time go?  I bought my oldest a dress shirt and tie today for his grad photos next week.  I'm trying not to think about it!!!  Now, it's just grade 8 graduation but still.  How is my little boy old enough to graduate grade 8?

On a happy note, we have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the talented Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim's cards often inspire me to create wish lists and place orders!!!  Go and take a look - you'll see what I mean!

Shockingly this wasn't my first card!  Ha!  Though I kinda knew what I wanted to create.  I used by Sunburst Thinlit from SU to cut out sun.  Then I used a stitched circle die to make it more round.  I cut out some clouds and added some Simple Strips from Taylored Expressions.  I added a bit of texture to the background because it just didn't look quite right plain!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Stamps: Simple Strips (Taylored Expressions)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Sunburst Thinlit, Sun 'n Clouds Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Stitched Circle Die (Lil Inkers), Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, Simple Strips Die (Taylored Expressions), Sequins

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created.  We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have an amazing day!

  1. Bright and sunny (pun intended)! I love how you've used this sketch, and I love this card.

  2. Oh this sunshine was a great idea! Sweet card!

  3. Oh how I LOVE!! That sunburst is oh so fun. I adore the sentiment strips!!

  4. Fabulous!!! I love the way you created that dramatic sun - and the sentiment strips are just right!!

  5. This is such a wow Jen! I love the stitched sunburst and the textured background makes the clouds and the sentiment strip seem so pure!
It's amazing how fast time goes by when you have children is it? One minute they're babes in arms and the next they're off to uni! On the plus side, your son is just graduating grade 8 so you have time to enjoy every minute! Vicky x

  6. What a great use of the sketch! LOVE it!

  7. What a fantastic and cherry design, Jen! This sunny card is sure to brighten anyone's day!
