Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #135

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  Tuesday was a beautiful day here!  The boys are so excited to have some warm, sunny weather!  They were outside from the time they got home from school until it was bath/shower time!  We even ate outside!  Poor Jacob was so tired he couldn't walk up the stairs to bed!  I realize that my days of carrying the little guy are getting fewer and fewer so I will take advantage whenever I can!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Narelle Farrugia.  If you haven't been to her blog lately you need to stop what you're doing and head on over there!  Okay, maybe finish reading this post first!!!  Her cards are just beautiful!
As soon as I saw the sketch I knew that I wanted to do a card with the Blue Ribbon stamp set.  My friend Barb just completed her first half marathon.  Barb only started running late summer/early fall and started out running just a few kilometres and has worked her way up to a half marathon!  She is a very determined lady!  I wanted to honour her accomplishment with a card!

I'm not over thrilled with my card....I just couldn't get it to work the way I wanted but Barb loved it and that's all that matters!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pacific Point, Real Red, Silver
Stamps: Blue Ribbon, Love and Laughter
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Other: Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits, Black pearls (non-SU), Dimensionals, Silver Embossing Powder

Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the fabulous creations the design team has come up with for you!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Jen!

  3. I love the silver embossing on the sentiment -- it looks fabulous against the blue. And what a great way to use the sketch! Very clever! I think Barb definitely deserves a medal (and a beautiful hand-made card) for running a half marathon!

  4. Not sure why you're not thrilled with this card Jen as it's just fabulous! That silver cardstock really makes this card shine - your friend sounds amazing! I can't even run 1km let alone 21km of a half marathon lol
