Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #115

I hope you're having a great week!  I'm sorry I've been so MIA lately.  I've found it really hard to get into my craft room over the last week.  I guess I thought that once school started (in September!) I would have more time on my hands not less!!!!

We've started the "Elf on the Shelf" tradition at our house this past weekend.  I guess we didn't start it, we just continued it this weekend.  The boys think our elf is hilarious.  I think he's rather naughty.  He sure gets into trouble and this morning Jacob discovered him taped to a wall surrounded by nutcrackers.  Jacob felt so sorry for Fiddle Faddle.  I had to remind him that Fiddle Faddle did cover all (14) nutcrackers in underwear the night before and the nutcrackers were probably just upset.  Oh the drama!

Anyhow, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of our very talented Jennifer Timko!  She makes such beautiful cards and her Artisan designs are amazing!!!
I'll be honest.  I didn't do her sketch justice and I'm rather disappointed in my card.  I am still trying to get some Christmas cards done (though I should also try writing in some of the ones I do have done!).  I wanted to do something simple but I think I oversimplified it...sigh...

Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
DSP: Seasons of Style
Stamps: Petite Pairs
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Silver Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the fabulous cards the design team has created for you!  We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have a great day!

  1. Well, I think it is simply perfect!! Might be CASEing this idea with some of my DSP pieces. I need to get some cards done! Our elf, Peyton, isn't quite as much of a trouble maker (thank goodness). Hoping he and Fiddle Faddle don't share ideas. :-)

  2. I think your card is very shouldn't be disappointed at all!! I love the paper and the rhinestones!!
    Naughty...naughty elf!! :)

  3. Love that sweet plaid! Pretty card! And the pancakes are adorable! But about that naughty!

  4. You're too hard on yourself Jen - this card is lovely, especially because of the striking colour combo you've used!

  5. This is beautiful! I love plaid at Christmas!

  6. I love this dsp, and I love how you've let it be the star of the card. You are such a fun mom! Your kids will have lots of great Christmas memories.

  7. I love the plaid dsp Jen! I wish there had been Elf on the Shelf when my daughter was little. What fun!

  8. Wonderful red plaid paper with the silver sequins and ribbon! I hope the shelf elf escaped the nutcrackers!!

  9. I cannot believe that you are disappointed with this card. It is one of my favorites for this sketch challenge. Perfect choice of patterns and colors and I love the addition of the silver ribbon. Really pretty card!
