Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #486

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We have gone from slightly cool weather here to crazy warm!  Funny how that happens.  I won't complain!  Where we're moving we probably won't see too much hot weather so I'll take advantage of it while I can!

We have a fun new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Jacquie Southas!  Jacquie makes absolutely stunning cards!  You need to head over to her blog and check them out!

Okay peeps, I saw this sketch and almost threw up!  No word of a lie. All I saw was part of a massive circle!  What on earth was I going to do with that?  Needless to say, I tried many, many renditions of this card.  I felt very uncreative to say the least.  I absolutely love this brand new DSP (Expressions in Ink) from Stampin' Up! though.  I don't actually want to use it!  I want it to be one of those packs that you just hoard and keep and open and touch...anyone else out there do that?!  Anyhow, as soon as I saw this paper I knew I had to try and incorporate it into my card! It was hard to make that first cut in the paper though!

Cardstock: Magenta Madness, Basic Black, Gold Foil, Whisper White
DSP: Expressions in Ink
Stamps: Many Messages
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Message Die, Pierced Blooms Dies, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I do hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards that are there for your inspiration!

Have an amazing day!

  1. You are right - that DSP is striking! The pink flowers are beautiful with it!

  2. Such pretty paper and I always love those dies! You did a beautiful job overcoming your circle phobia!

  3. Sorry for the stress the sketch caused, but seriously, those florals were made to highlight a curve. The designer paper is stunning, and, yes, I have a special collection of paper that might never be cut.

  4. This is gorgeous!! I love the paper and the flowers. Lovely design!

  5. I thought you'd been experimenting with alcohol inks when I saw that patterned paper! Just gorgeous - as is your whole card!

  6. You are definitely the queen of classy cards! This color combination is so elegant and make the perfect pair with this gorgeous DSP.

  7. Ha ha! Sometimes a sketch does throw you, doesn't it? Love what you did here though.
So pretty, and definitely worth cutting into that gorgeous paper.
Thanks for choosing my Panda card as one of this week's winners
