Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #273

Hello!
Happy Wednesday and Happy February!  We are getting ready for a pretty big event at our house.  My husband just happens to be turning 40 this coming Friday!  I can't believe it.  There has to be something wrong with my math since I'm pretty sure I'm only turning 30 (again!) on my next birthday.  My husband is a big hockey fan so we are having a Hockey Themed Family party for him.  He doesn't want anyone else but family so we will honour his wishes!  He did say no cake but a birthday isn't complete without a cake - ice cream cake to be exact!!!

We had a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess today is the amazing Karren Johnson!  Karren is uber creative.  She can also colour like no one's business AND she has the cutest accent!!!

Karren's sketch is super versatile.  The sky is the limit with this one!  I opted to make a simple Valentine's Day card that I can easily duplicate if I need to and use for the boys teachers!

I used some old DSP from Stampin' Up for this one!  I threw on some sparkly red hearts and added a sentiment.  I had a super hard time getting this sentiment straight.  I almost lost my marbles on this one!  Needless to say that's why it's on a banner!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Red Glimmer
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack (SU Retired)
Stamps: And Many More
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Heart Punch, Itty Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has come up with!

Have a fabulous day!

Jen

  5. I love that DSP stack and I love the prints/colors that you chose for the panels. The sentiment looks like it was planned that way, and it looks perfect with the raised panel. Make sure to let me know if your husband resists the cake or if he caves! I'm betting he caves; who wouldn't???
