Hello and Happy Wednesday!
We are anticipating that the day will bring us an interesting snow/rain mixture. It was raining a few hours ago and not it has turned to a very wet rain/snow mix. We are supposed to get 10 cm of snow over night and some more in the morning. We shall see if there is school or not!
I am fighting a cold right now and am a little tired...cannot wait to get to bed tonight!
Today's brand new and fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches comes from the incredibly talented Tui Nathan! I do love this sketch so very much!
I recently decided to cave and purchase the Pleasant Poppies stamp set. I have learned that I CANNOT colour...I try and try but my colouring always looks like my 6 year old did it! I have had many incredibly talented stampers offer to help me but they all live SO far away! Maybe one day I'll be able to have a proper colouring lesson!!! That aside, since I can't colour I had to stamp these beautiful poppies on some real red and fussy cut them out!!! I threw some bling in there and called it a day!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Real Red Taffeta Ribbon, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you take a minute to check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the other beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you!
Have a great day!
Jen!
Your card is gorgeous! Love the bright red flowers. I'm sure you can color, maybe you just didn't have the right paper because red is a non-forgiving color if you get outside the lines. I know not all papers are the same and some smear horribly because of the way they absorb the ink.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful in every way! I can't color either so I hear ya! Your fussy cut poppies are gorgeous! And I love the ribbon - so classy!
ReplyDeleteLove this, Jen. I can't color either!!!! I used to be pretty good back in the day with crayons, but my skills haven't improved any with age. ;) I still color like an 8 year-old. Great way to improvise though!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Jen! I was going to complement you on your fabulous coloring too before you spilled the beans! I've never thought of stamping the flowers on red and cutting them out, but this looks so yummy I just might try that out!
ReplyDeleteI think your poppies were colored beautifully, and I really love the way you did the ribbon! It wasn't too long ago when Copics were unheard of, and we all colored quite differently. The old-fashioned way still works for me!
ReplyDeleteGreat card, I love these poppies!

Your card is stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is so gorgeous. I love the colors, the ribbon treatment and all the rhinestone bling.
ReplyDeleteOh my ... what a perfect way to showcase these beautiful poppies ....and seriously, I thought you had coloured them - they look awesome and very striking indeed!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! I love your red poppies! They look great!
ReplyDeleteWho cares about coloring when you can fussy cut like a Boss...beautiful card, Jen !
ReplyDeleteOh, I did smile when I read your feelings about coloring. That is exactly how I feel! I'm still trying, though....but I do paper-piece now and then, as well. I love the poppies---actually, I have difficulty resisting any poppy image. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up with your coloring talk. This is a fantastic way to get around it (although I suspect your coloring is just great). Beautiful ribbon treatment!
