Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #217
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! Only a few more days until Christmas! Can you believe it?! Seriously, the days are whipping by! Jacob's Christmas concert is today at school! Last night at 8:15 he announced that he needs a Santa hat and sunglasses for said concert. We have one Santa hat in our house and it belongs to Jacob's older brother. Needless to say when I suggested he wear his older brother's hat, said older brother had a few things to say about that. Oh goodness. The fun never stops!
We have a brand new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches! Our amazing hostess this week is Linda Callahan! Linda makes such beautiful cards and I totally love her sense of humour! She keeps me laughing! You need to check out her blog as soon as you're done reading this!
I struggled a bit with this giant rectangle! I think it was mainly because I just didn't feel like using any of my stamps! Oh well! I decided to use my "In a Big Way" from Lil' Inkers instead! I kinda had a little accident with the stamp when I inked it and the "eat cake" portion didn't stamp right. Needless to say I opted to cover it with a banner rather than re-stamping it!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Melon Mambo
Stamps: In A Big Way (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Double Banner Garland Die (Reverse Confetti), Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has created! You sure won't be disappointed! Please remember that we are now taking a break until January so you have until January 4th to enter our challenge! Our next new sketch will be coming your way on January 6th!
Have a great week and a Merry Christmas!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #216
Hello!
I hope you're having a great week! I think my Christmas shopping is almost done. My cards are in the mail and now I just need to wrap. I feel a little more ready this week than I did last week! We've been having some great weather here in Southern Ontario and it sure doesn't feel like Christmas is right around the corner. I think we are supposed to have double digit temperatures this weekend which is almost unheard of around here in December!
We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches! Our fabulous hostess this week is the amazing Colour Artist Rita Wright! Rita can use a marker like no one else! She makes such adorable images! Her card this week is so cute!!! You need to check it out!
I knew I didn't want to make another Christmas card this week. I opted for a birthday card and shockingly this is not the first card I came up with. I think this is version 4 of the card. I'm not happy with this version either but I ran out of time and had to settle on this one!
I do love the paper from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack. I love the colours and the patterns. I think I've used this combo before....sorry!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Calypso Coral (though I think it may not be Calypso Coral!)
DSP: Pretty Petals DSP Stack
Stamps: Sentiment Flag Additions (Lil Inkers)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Stitched Rectangles, Finishing Touches Edgelits, Stitched Flag (Lil Inkers)
Thanks so much for stopping in today! Please take some time to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for you!
Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #215
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! We are one step closer to Christmas and I'm one step closer to a nervous breakdown!!! I am almost done with the shopping or at least as much as I can do! I have my Christmas cards made I just need to find a few minutes to sit down and deal with them! That's what I'm struggling with!!! Then there's the wrapping...ugh! When I was little I loved wrapping. Now, not so much!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week! Our amazing hostess if the one and only Jen Mitchell! I love Jen and her amazing cards! They are just so beautiful! I hope you take the time to go and visit her blog!
Jen's sketch threw me for a bit. I don't do banners so well. I think I would rather a circle than a banner!!! I needed another Christmas card and had just created some place cards for a Christmas lunch I'm hosting next week so I decided I would incorporate the same vellum die cuts that I used on the place cards into my card!
They don't show up so well in this photo...sorry about that! I really do enjoy the Sleigh Ride Edgelits. They are so sweet and cut out so nicely!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Paper: Vellum
Stamps: Jingle all the Way
Ink: Silver
Other: Anytime Tags Die Set 2 (Lil Inkers), Sleigh Ride Edgelits, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the design team has created for you!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #214
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! Can you believe that today is the 25th! Christmas is a month today! I have a bit more of my shopping done but I really can't get in the mood. I can't even get in the mood to decorate! I have a few things done but not much. I guess I should get on that this weekend! Maybe later this week I'll have a few minutes. I asked the kids if they wanted to help put the tree up and they said no...No wonder I'm not motivated!!!
Being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our wonderful hostess this week is the talented Jennifer Timko! She makes such amazing cards! You need to go and check out her blog!
I am a little behind on my Christmas cards. At this point I do have some cut out and I just need to have a few minutes to sit down and put them together but that day was not today!!! Anyhow, I thought if I made a Christmas card for this week's challenge I would at least have one more done!!!
So you're probably looking at this wondering why I picked a snowflake and "white on white" again?! I can't help it! I love white!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Four the Holidays
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Snowflake Punch, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Sequins, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the beautiful cards the design team has come up with!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #213
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week so far. Can you believe it's mid November already! How's your Christmas shopping going? I find it hard to wrap my head around the idea that Christmas is just over a month away! The weather has definitely had me thinking that it's still early fall!!!
We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches! Our amazing hostess this week is the fabulous Amy O'Neill. Amy makes such beautiful cards and she is the most creative lady when it comes to colour combinations! She is also one of the newest members of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team! Our Freshly Made Sketches team is so proud of Amy!!!
So I had this fabulous card in my mind with these gorgeous flowers on it but I am not sure that's what I ended up with. I couldn't quite get the right arrangement of flowers! Sometimes I frustrate myself!
I do love the Pretty Petals DSP Stack from SU. I love the colours and the sweet flowers! I also love that the paper is 6X6!!
I totally should be making Christmas cards but I just can't seem to get motivated to do that either! I did get some of my teacher gifts made yesterday though so for that I'll be thankful! Christmas cards may need to be this weekend!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Pretty Petals DSP Stack
Stamps: Flower Patch
Ink: Pacific Point, Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, Stazon Black, Versamark
Other: Flower Fair Framelits, White Embossing Powder, Stitched Rectangles (Lil Inkers), Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals.
Thanks again so much for stopping in today! I hope you'll find the time to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the design team has created for you!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #212
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! Not only is it Wednesday but also Remembrance Day. I am so thankful for all the men and women who sacrificed their comfort, safety and their lives for my freedom. I am thankful for a grandfather who was willing to go to war not knowing if he would return. I am thankful for his safe return (without it, I wouldn't be here!). I am thankful for the men and women who currently serve in our Armed Forces and protect not only our country but fight for the freedom of those around the world who cannot do it on their own. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
We have a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Our amazing hostess this week is Narelle Farrugia. Narelle is one of the most talented card makers around! Her cards are absolutely beautiful! Make sure you check out her blog!
This sketch is so versatile. I thought at first I'd do a Christmas card. I think I even told my dad that's what I was going to make! Ha! I didn't even try and plan out a Christmas card. I saw this DSP sitting in the disaster on my desk and loved it so much I needed to try it out!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Calypso Coral
DSP: Pretty Petals DSP Stack
Stamps: Apothecary Accents
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Stitched Square Dies (Lil' Inkers), Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Sequins
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a chance to check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog and see the amazing cards the girls have created for you! You will love them! Also, don't forget to take time today to be thankful for your freedom and for those that fought for it!

Warm and Sweet!
Hello!
Happy Monday! I hope you have had a great start to your week! Today is "cooking" day at our house! The boys have drum lessons right before dinner on Wednesday and Thursday so I like to have those dinners ready ahead of time! This week it was lasagne and tacos! I kinda smell like a taco, lasagne, some fajitas and hard boiled eggs!!!
This is another one of the cards that I found on my desk! Don't think for a minute that I tidied my desk and found them! I think I just moved one pile and there they were!
I do love the Coffee Cozy stamps from Lil' Inkers! I honestly could use them on every card (and I don't even drink coffee!!!).
I love this paper from SU! Those butterflies just make me smile! The paper is from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack! The colours are just so vibrant!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Kraft, Calypso Coral
DSP: Pretty Petals DSP Stack
Stamps: Coffee Cozy (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Coffee Cozy Dies, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous week!

Hello Friend
Hello!
Happy Sunday! I hope you've have a great weekend! We had a nice relaxing day. It was nice to sleep in a few minutes this morning. We had such a beautiful weekend again! I sure have been loving this unusual fall weather! The sun is just so warm and lovely!
I discovered a few cards laying around that I had not posted. I don't even remember when I made them or for what challenge! Obviously they didn't get entered!!! That happens sometimes around here!
I couldn't help but combine butterflies and sequins...oh and a stitched rectangle on this card! The "hello's" are cut out using the Hello You thinlits from Stampin' Up! I added the Papillon Potpourri butterflies and the sequins I had left from my Watercolour Wishes card kit!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Sending You (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Bitty Butterfly Punch, Hello You Thinlits, Sequins
Thanks so much for stopping in today!
I hope you have a fabulous day!!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #211
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! It was such a beautiful day today! We have had one of the warmest fall weeks ever! The boys actually wore shorts and t-shirts to school yesterday which has to be a first in Canadian History!!! They were pumped! I wish this warmer weather could last all winter! It does feel strange to have such warm weather and to have Christmas commercials on TV!
We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches! Our fabulous hostess this week is the amazing Karren Johnson! Karren makes some gorgeous cards! I aspire to be able to create cards like her one day!!!
I had a hard time with this sketch and it wasn't because of the circle - I know, shocking! I have felt so uncreative the last few weeks. I don't know what it is but I just sit in my craft room and stare at everything. Party because it's a disaster that needs a good cleaning! I sure feel like the weak link of the team this week! I'm hoping this fabulous weather changes things!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Silver
Stamps: Shine Bright (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Sun 'n Clouds Confetti Cuts, Double Stitched Circle Dies (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping in today! Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the amazing cards the Design Team has come up with! You will not be disappointed!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #209
Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're all having a great start to your week! We've had a beautiful week here so far. Monday and Tuesday were both quite warm which was a nice change from the weather we had on the weekend! I love warm fall day! I know winter is right around the corner and I'm dreading it!
We have a new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches and I am this week's hostess! Coming up with a sketch is not an easy task. You don't want to make something too complicated and you don't want something that is too easy! I think I may have leaned a little more towards the easy side! I like to think of it more on the "clean" side! I hope you like it and will play along with this week's challenge!
I am trying to get ahead on Christmas cards! I do love the snowflake punch (as you are probably well aware!). I like it's simplicity. You must be sick of seeing the snowflake and the word "Merry"! I'll try and mix it up next week! I like to show that cards don't have to be layered or complicated (though those cards are also fabulous!). Simple can be lovely too!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Holly Jolly Greetings
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Other: Snowflake Punch, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Silver Sequins, Basic Rhinestones, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals
I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out what the Design Team has created for you! You will be inspired! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #208
Happy Wednesday!
I hope you all had a great weekend! If you're in Canada, I hope you had a great long Thanksgiving weekend. We had such gorgeous weather here. It was the perfect weekend! The boys enjoyed one last swim in the pool and now it's drained and we will prepare for winter...ugh. I am not looking forward to winter at all!
We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches! Our hostess this week is the amazing Cindy Hall! Did you see Cindy's card last week? It was absolutely beautiful! Cindy has such creativity!
Cindy's sketch is pretty fabulous! It is so versatile and remember those rectangles can always be substituted for something else! As you can see, I used snowflakes instead of that second rectangle! I love snowflakes! I also love white cards! I think it's my type A personality! The white just looks so clean!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Red Glimmer
Stamps: Holly Jolly Greetings
Ink: Real Red
Other: Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Snowflake Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Stitched Rectangle Dies (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals
Thanks again for stopping in! I hope you will get the chance to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you! You won't be disappointed!

Fusion Wishes
Hello!
Happy Sunday! It's a gorgeous day here! Bright, sunny and warm! The pool is being heated today for one last dip today and tomorrow. Probably be the nicest weekend of the fall. The leaves are slowly turning and look radiant in this beautiful sunshine! I think tomorrow we'll try some family pictures. They will be impromptu and the clothes won't match perfectly but they'll hopefully reflect us as a family and how much we love each other! It's also our 13th anniversary tomorrow. Fitting maybe to take some pictures!!!
Today's card is for this week's Fusion Card Challenge. I loved the picture and the sketch and I'll be honest, I think I bombed both!!!!
I totally forgot the bottom panel of the sketch and the little circle behind the feathers. I'm losing it I tell you! I think the problem was that this card originally started with a different embossing folder which was just half of the card (to create the bottom panel). Then I changed my mind but forgot about the sketch. Just shoot me now! Both the butterflies and the sentiment were created with silver embossing powder. Oh how I love silver and white!!!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Silver
Stamps: In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti), Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Versamark
Other: Bitty Butterfly Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Silver Embossing Powder, Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Stitched Squares (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals
We look like children here!!! Wow!!! Oh how times have changed!
Thanks so much for stopping in today! I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Unique
Hello
Happy Saturday and Happy Thanksgiving weekend to my fellow Canadians! We are having such a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend here so far. I cooked my turkey today but we will be eating it tomorrow. I can't wait! We sure have so much to be thankful for this year.
I had a few minutes this afternoon while the bird was cooking away to run down to my craft room to work on a card. The boys were out flying today which was even more of a bonus! I didn't get a chance to play with the sketch last week from CAS(E) This Sketch so I knew I would need to play this week! I decided to stick very closely to this sketch! I loved the butterflies and wanted to continue with that theme! I also couldn't think of anything else small enough that would work!
I didn't quite know what to do with the sentiment then remembered the "Being Unique is Better than Being Perfect" one from Reverse Confetti and knew that would work splendidly! I could just punch out 8 small black butterflies and then stamp and punch out another one in a different colour. I happened to have some Calypso Coral sitting on my desk so that's what got used!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Calypso Coral
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Stazon Black
Stamps: Fabulous Flamingo (Reverse Confetti)
Other: Bitty Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and thankful weekend!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #207
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great start to your week! We have a busy week here in this house. Caleb is being fitted for a new retainer today and we need to go and get the moulds done. I have the joy of taking him. Hopefully it goes okay! The boys are both taking drum lessons this year. I thought for sure I would regret this but they are having so much fun and learning so much. I have also learned to read drum music and can play a few bars when needed! Who knew?!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of the amazing Kim Singdahlsen! Kim creates the most amazing cards and is one of the major enablers on our team! You need to check out her blog but beware...you may feel strongly inclined to go shopping after seeing her gorgeous cards!
What I first had in mind when I saw this sketch is not what I created. Even this card isn't exactly what I wanted but it's what we're going with this week. I envisions snowflakes and sparkle but that didn't quite work out.
I decided to use some of my Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I really like this paper! As you know, I usually like to have cards with as much white space as possible but I decided to fill that in today!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
DSP: Pretty Petals
Stamps: Set from the Water Colour Wishes Kit
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Wooden Butterflies and Sequins (Water Colour Wishes Kit)
Thanks so much for stopping in today! I hope you have the time to go over to the Freshly Made Sketches Design Team blog to check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for you!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #206
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week! I haven't gotten as much time in my craft room this week as I would have liked so I'm hoping to be able to create some cards this afternoon! The activities are commitments are starting to ramp up around here so it's not leaving a lot of left over time for crafting! I'm wondering if my family really needs to eat meals?!!!! Think of the time I could save!!!
We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches! Our amazing hostess this week is Linda Callahan! Linda makes such beautiful cards! I love her creativity! She also has a fabulous sense of humour! You need to check out her blog!
Now, you can only imagine the joking that went on in our group when Linda posted this sketch. At first I thought she was trying to do me in. Not only is there a big circle on it, there are THREE! Seriously! Actually, I knew right away I wanted to use coffee cups on this card. I just love these sweet cups! I wanted to create a really simple card. I love simple (but you already know that!). I love Kraft paper as well. It speaks to me about as much as a pure white background! I added a little heart from the Natural Elements and it was done!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Kraft, Whisper White
Stamps: Coffee Cozy (Lil Inkers)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Coffee Cozy Dies (Lil Inkers), Natural Elements, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please had on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the amazing cards the design team has created for you!

Snowflake Fun
Hello!
Happy Saturday! I almost forgot to do this post up! I hope you're having a great weekend. It was a beautiful day here. Some friends and I went to check out the local "Made in Canada" Etsy craft sale today. I must say, there are a lot of very talented people out there! Wow! I was impressed!
I had a few minutes this afternoon while the boys were out flying with my husband to get a card made! I decided to go with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge! I loved the sketch! I couldn't decide what type of card to do but realized that my Christmas card stash is basically non-existant so I figured that was a good place to start!
I decided the card looked a little plain without the embossing but used the new Softly Falling embossing folder from SU to create the background!
I must say I'm not happy that my sentiment has bumps on it. That's not from running it through the embossing folder, it's from the die. I tried using wax paper and even adding in another piece of paper in while I cut it out but nothing seemed to make the bumps go away. If you know a trick, let me know!
This is a stamp and ink free card! I was rather excited about that!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper white, Silver
Other: Snowflake Punch, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day!!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #205
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! We are officially into fall now and it has to be one of my favourite seasons - okay, it's my favourite. I love the coolness in the air and the beautiful colours of the leaves. I also love pumpkins...have I mentioned that before?! I have an obsession with stuffed ones. Okay, so I have only just started this obsession but I found the cutest knit one at Hobby Lobby when we were vacationing in Kentucky. It made the trip home with us! As I told my friend Linda Callahan the other day, I'm a funky nut!
So we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today courtesy of the amazing Rita Wright. She is our in house colouring queen. Well, many of our team colour fabulously but Rita can colour anything! Head to her blog and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.
I was a little stumped with Rita's sketch but then decided I would give a fall'ish wreath a try. I whipped out the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and die and after about 4 tries finally got a half decent wreath I could use. If you struggle with this stamp set, know you aren't alone. If you don't struggle, know you are alone!!!!
I decided to keep the background and my banner white, though in hindsight it probably should have been vanilla. Oh well. I like white! I threw on some Crushed Curry flowers and some pearls and called it a day!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso
Stamps: Wondrous Wreath, Acorny Thank You, Pictogram Punches
Ink: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry
Other: Wondrous Wreath Framelits, Itty Bitty Punches (?), Basic Pearls, Banner Framelits, Itty Bitty Banners, Dimensionals
Have a fabulous day!

Sunday Donuts!
Hello!
Happy Monday! I hope you've had a great start to your week! Mondays are grocery day at our house. Well, almost every day is grocery day around here the way some people eat but we won't go there! There may also be a rhubarb crisp currently baking in the oven! The boys will be excited when they come home from school!!!!
I had a few minutes yesterday while the boys were out flying to work on a couple of cards! I haven't played along with the Sunday Stamps challenge in far too long! I must say I really do love having some extra time during the week to get some cards made up!
I really liked the sketch this week and decided to combine my Reverse Confetti "Donut You Know" stamp and die with the Cherry on Top DSP stack from Stampin' Up. I originally had my card turned the other way but I couldn't get a sentiment to fit properly so I had to turn it landscape!
I added a little Glassy Glaze Enamel to my donut to give it that glazed look! Oh how I love donuts! I really think that donuts should be a food group!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso, Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party
DSP: Cherry On Top DSP Stack
Stamps: Donut You Know (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Stazon Black, Versamark
Other: Heat and Stick Powder, Glassy Glaze Enamel, Stitched Rectangle Dies (Lil Inkers), Donut Confetti Cut (Reverse Confetti), Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping in today! I hope you have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Celebrate
Hello!
Happy Sunday! It's a beautiful day here, a little cool but that's okay. It's starting to feel a bit more fall'ish around here! I may have gotten out some of my fall decorations yesterday! I LOVE pumpkins (especially stuffed ones) and I couldn't wait to have them sitting out! Don't get me wrong, I like them now but give me a few weeks and I'll be wanting to put them away again! Thankfully Canadian Thanksgiving is early!
I made this card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. I must admit that I did find the sketch tricky and I'm not happy with my card! Some people can create such beautiful cards with "randomly placed" elements. I cannot.
I decided to use my Dot Spot stamp set from PTI. I love that set and don't use it nearly as much as I should. It's so fun to play with. I love Bermuda Bay and Pool Party together. They just strike me as happy colours! I hadn't used my Natural Elements Sayings yet so I wanted to try those out as well!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
Stamps: Dot Spot
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits, Stitched Squares (Lil Inkers), Bermuda Bay Sequins, Natural Elements Sayings, Dimensionals.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Nutty Acorns
Hello!
I hope you've had a great Wednesday! Hump day! We are halfway through another week! Today was cleaning day here. Not my favourite day but I do love a clean house! I had a few minutes this afternoon and I decided that I would tackle another card! I know this season of having extra free time doesn't last long so I want to take advantage of it while I can!
I decided to start with the colours from this week's ColourQ challenge. I do love the colours this week. I didn't have Kiwi Kiss or Soft Sky so I used Pool Party and Lucky Limeade as a substitute. I was fairly certain that I had Kiwi Kiss somewhere but I couldn't find it!
I went on and decided I would try my hand with the sketch from this week's Global Design Project! Now, I'm sure you guys all know me pretty well and know that when I took one look at that circle I cringed! Why do I hate circles so much?! I think I'd cringe no matter what shape it had been!
I decided to use my Acorny Thank You stamp set for this one! I need to make an anniversary card for my husband! Our anniversary is coming up next month and I usually leave the card until the very last minute! I LOVE acorns. Not sure why. My son and my mom had this little thing about collecting acorns years ago and now every time I see an acorn I smile!
I decided a plain background wasn't going to work for this card so I used the Woodlands Textured Embossing Folder to create the background. I glued all the pieces together and then ran it through the big shot to emboss it.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, Pool Party
Stamps: Acorny Thank You
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Other: Woodland Textured Embossing Folder, Acorn Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Heart Punch, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #204
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I trust your week is going well! Can you believe we are halfway through September already? Honestly, where is the time going? My oldest asked me today how many more days until Christmas! I couldn't believe it! Christmas? It's just over three months away. I guess I should get going on my cards!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of the amazing Jennifer Timko! Our dear Jennifer celebrated a very special birthday on Tuesday! If you haven't checked out her blog and her beautiful cards, head over there and do it and give her a little birthday love!!!
Our sketch this week is a great one! I must say that I had to sit and think about this one for a while. I had a few ideas and tried some different things before I finally decided on a design. I figured I had better get some Christmas cards at least started. I used some of the fun new products from the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalogue which was super fun!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver
Stamps: Holly Jolly Greetings
Ink: Stazon Black

CAS(E) This Sketch Birthday Wishes
Hello!
I hope you're all having a great week! It's been beautiful here and the weather has been so summery! I do hope this weather continues for awhile!
I had a few minutes at home alone this morning and decided I would play along with a challenge I had been unable to join in on in a very long time. I am hoping to be able to take part in more challenges over the next little while but we shall see!
CAS(E) This Sketch is one of my favourite challenges and I loved this week's sketch but this one did stump me! I don't do so well with washi tape so I knew I would have to use stamps!
I don't think my card is much like the sketch - I took a very liberal interpretation of the sketch. I don't usually do that. I feel kinda guilty! Anyhow, I got my Butterfly Basics stamp set out and went to town!
I used some of the thicker Whisper White cardstock for the card base and it's fantastic! Sure helped give my card a lot more stability!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Smokey Slate, Crushed Curry, Blackberry Bliss, Stazon Black
Other: Butterfly Basics Thinlits, 3/4" circle punch, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I will be back shortly with this week's new Freshly Made Sketches sketch!!!! It's a fun one!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #203 and some Acorns!
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week! Yesterday was a big day at our house as it was the first day of school! I had two boys who didn't want to go. They thought homeschool sounded like a great option! Little did they know that though it works for some families, their mom would probably lose the one marble she has left!!! They came home from school happy and wanting to go back! Amen!
We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches and our amazing hostess is the talented Jen Mitchell! Jen's style is so fabulous. I just love it! I can't wait to be like her when I grow up! You need to head over to her blog to see exactly what I'm talking about!
I really love the Acorny Thank You from Stampin' Up! It's such a fun stamp set and I LOVE acorns. Caleb used to love them when he was little and now I love them and cherish the memory of him and his acorns! Anyhow, brown and gold are some of my favourite fall colours so I embossed me up some acorns and away I went. I decided I needed to make a shaker box since I am one of the only ones who doesn't do it regularly! I had some old double sided dimensional tape laying around that I used to create the shaker box. The hardest part was taking apart all of those sequins!!!! Now, just to set the record straight, this isn't the first edition of this card! It started out being all white and then just plain brown but I needed to add in the embossing. It just didn't look right without it!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso
Stamps: Acorny Thank You
Ink: Versamark
Other: Acorn Punch, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Sequins, Dimensionals, Circle Dies
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the beautiful cards the design team created for you! We can't wait to see what you'll create for the challenge this week!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #202
Hello!
I hope you're having a great week! To my American friends, I hope your kids have enjoyed their first week back at school! Our school board doesn't start until next Tuesday which is fantastic! I don't mind having another week without the hectic schedule of school! The boys aren't complaining either!
We have another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week! Our incredible hostess is Amy O'Neill! She creates such beautiful cards! I love all of the amazing colour combinations she comes up with!
Amy's sketch this week is so versatile. I love that it can be used for pretty much anything. I needed to make a birthday card for my dad (his birthday is the day after Jacob's). I decided I would start with Amy's sketch and see where I ended up. I used the Double Banner Garland Die and Circle Garland Die along with some fun Stitched Rectangles and Squares.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver
Stamps: In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), In , Stitched Squares (Lil' Inkers), Double Banner Garland Die (Reverse Confetti), Circle Garland Die (Reverse Confetti), Dimensionals, Silver Bling (not sure where I got this one!).
Thanks again so much for stopping in for a visit. I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see all the amazing cards the Design Team has come up with to inspire you!
Have a wonderful week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #201
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! We are back to another Wednesday already! Thank you all so very much for your participation in our 200th sketch challenge last week! We love how many of you created cards for our challenge! It was amazing to see each and every one!
We have another great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our fabulous hostess this week is Narelle Farrugia. Narelle makes the most beautiful cards. Those flowers and all that fussy cutting and oh, don't forget those gorgeous layers! Head on over to her blog and check them all out!
We had a sweet little birthday boy at our house this past week. This particular now 7 year old LOVES soccer! One of his many loves actually. I decided to turn that evil circle into a soccer ball. Solved the circle issue right away! I used the hexagon embossing folder and die to create that soccer ball look!
I originally had a white background instead of green but it was a little too elegant looking for a 7 year old!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Gumball Green
Stamps: Sentiment Flag Additions (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Stitched Flag Die (Lil' Inkers), Sequins, Hexagon Embossing Folder, Hexagon Die, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I sure hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and check out what the Design Team has "whipped" up for you! We can't wait to see what you create for us!
Have a fabulous day!
Jen
