Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #66
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! This is going to be a faster post today since I'm rushing out the door again! Story of my life these days! I was at the school today and got to preview the kids Christmas concert for Thursday. They are all so sweet. In light of the tragedy in Connecticut I truly treasured being in the gym with all 800 students watching them get ready for Christmas! I also am deeply heartbroken for the families of the students and staff that were senselessly killed in last Friday's tragedy. My family and I have so much to be thankful for this Christmas season.
Today brings a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Tui Nathan (who is so incredibly talented) brings us a fun sketch that now looking at it I realize I didn't quite follow...oops! Sorry about that.
I wanted and needed to make a baby card for my friend Jeanette who had her fifth and final baby last Monday (yes, I'm slow!). She had a little girl after 4 wonderful little boys! I figured she was now ready for a lot of pink!!!
I used the retired (sadly) Fox and Friends stamp set. It's perfect for baby cards! I also got out the Doily Sizzlet and used that! I must say that I am really loving Primrose Petals! I think after all the Christmas cards it was super fun to do a baby card!
Make sure you check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog as well as the other members of the design team. You won't be disappointed!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Primrose Petals, Pink Pirouette
DSP: Patio Party, Primrose Petals DSP
Stamps: Fox and Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Primrose Petals
Other: Rhinestones, Circle Punches, Large Delicate Doilies Sizzlet, Dimesionals,
Thanks for stopping by!!!!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #64
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! Here we are at the middle of the week already! I had a sick little boy at home today. Caleb finally succumbed to the nasty cough that was going around his class. I kept him home and by the end of the day he seemed to be doing much better. He went to bed early and hasn't been coughing so hopefully he's on the mend. Unfortunately I think I am now coming down with it. I mean, I was only coughed on how many times today?
There is a brand new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches today! The amazing Cindy Hall brings us today's sketch! I really wanted to make another Christmas card since I am seriously behind in the Christmas card making process (and it's already December ahhhh!!!!) BUT I also realized this weekend I'm seriously out of birthday cards and needed to replenish!
I love the colours in the Patio Party DSP and who doesn't love a good cupcake?!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Primrose Petals
DSP: Patio Party
Stamps: Create a Cupcake, You're Amazing - Happy Birthday (Single Stamp)

Clean and Simple in Espresso!
Hello!
I hope you have had a great start to your week. Jacob and I had a good day together! He kept me highly amused during our game of Trouble! I really loved being able to sit down and watch his little mind at work.
I wanted to try another card using a similar design to the ones I tried the other day. I wanted to use early espresso and gold this time...not sure I love it as much as the first two I made. It was still quick and helped me get one card closer to my Christmas card making goal!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Four the Holidays, Ornament Keepsakes
Ink: Versamark
Other: Basic Pearls, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Holiday Ornament Framelits, Dimensionals
We started doing the Elf on the Shelf this year. Jacob is totally into it. Caleb is questioning how this really works and if it's true or not. He's only 6! I didn't think he'd question anything for another few years!!! Anyhow, our elf (Fiddle Faddle) decided to take a roll down the stairs today...Jacob couldn't stop laughing!!!
Thanks for stopping by today!!!!
Have a fabulous day!!

Clean and Simple Christmas
Hello!
Just a quick little post tonight! I have had a busy weekend and am feeling the effects! I wanted to post some quickly and easy Christmas cards that I made the other day. I needed something easier and faster than what I had been making. I still have quite a few to make and I needed something that I could do quickly and make more one of!
I think I'll make a couple more up using different colours! I think I may need a red and gold or maybe a early espresso and gold!!!
Supplies:
Black card:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Silver Glimmer
Stamps: Four the Holidays
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Snow Flurry Bigz Die, Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestone
White Card:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Red Glimmer
Stamps: Four the Holidays, Ornament Keepsakes
Ink: Real red
Other: Holiday Ornament Die, Basic Rhinestone, Dimensionals
Tonight after dinner we headed over to Hamilton to see the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. The boys were super excited! The train was beautiful! We didn't stay for the concert since it was so late but the boys were still in 7th Heaven!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!

Blue and Silver Snowflake
Hello!
It's the end of another day...I must say I'm a little tired today. It was a busy day. I wanted to try and get another Christmas card done...I'm still nowhere near my goal which saddens me greatly. I think some people may not get hand made cards this year...I hope they aren't offended but I'm not sure how many more I can turn out this week!!!
I wanted to combine the Dynamic Duos and Fab Friday challenges! I love Midnight Muse and I love silver so this week's Dynamic Duos colour challenge was perfect for me! Inspiring actually!!! I then threw those colours into the Fab Friday sketch and voila!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Silver Glimmer
Stamps: Bright Hopes
Ink: Midnight Muse
Other: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Snowflake Punch
Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #63
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I can't believe it's Wednesday already! Where did the first half of the week go? Where did most of November go? I honestly can't believe that we're closing in on Christmas! Some of you know I've been going through some health tests recently to see if some mysterious lumps might be breast cancer but I am so happy (and thankful) to say that yesterday the doctor confirmed that she believes we are in the clear. I have a follow up ultrasound next month but for now, I am very relieved. I am so thankful for those praying! What an amazing answer to prayer! God is good!
There's a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Rita has a great new sketch for us! I love new sketches! This one had me stumped! I don't know why. I really wanted to use an ornament (I'm obsessed with them you know!) but I couldn't get it to look right. I finally decided on a snowflake but in the process of trying to distress my early espresso core'dinations cardstock I scratched it...badly too...I'm so ashamed! Heaven help me
Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso Core'dinations, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Petite Pairs
Ink: Versamark
Other: Snow Flurry Bigz Die, 3/4" Circle punch, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Word Window Punch, Sanding Block, Very Vanilla Velvet Ribbon, White Embossing Powder
Okay so here's the original card I made...I should have used a different embossing folder...alas...what can one do!
Thanks for stopping by!

Retro Ornament
Hello!
We're halfway through the week! I'm looking forward to the weekend. We may be receiving some fabulous visitors for the weekend that I'm very much looking forward to seeing! We may even take in some "Black Friday" shopping - Canadian style! To all my American readers out there - HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy your time together with your families and friends!
I am still trying to tackle some Christmas cards...I'm thinking this might be a futile process! I decided to use the sketch from this week's Retro Sketches challenge! I really liked this week's sketch. It seemed very clean and simple to me. I decided to use the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set again. I really love this set and I love how many different types of cards I can make with it. So easy with the coordinating dies. I mean WHY NOT?! I used some clear embossing powder on the ornament to give it a bit more shine.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP: Be of Good Cheer
Stamps: Holiday Ornament, Petite Pairs
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Holiday Ornament Dies, Clear Embossing Powder, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, and that embossing folder that has a name that I can never remember!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #62
Hello all!
I hope you're having a great week! I haven't been posting lately...I'm so sorry. I started re-arranging my craft room and it's quite the ordeal. Why do I start these things?! I'm seriously regretting it though hoping that in the end I enjoy the finished product! Not sure when I'll get to the end!
The best part about Wednesday is that it brings a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Who doesn't get excited about that? This week's fabulous sketch is brought to us courtesy of the amazing Jen Mitchell! She put a circle on it...did you see that?! I decided to step outside of those rounded edges and skip right to the holiday ornaments!!! I also notice now that I'm doing this that I put my sentiment in the wrong place! Wow...I really broke all the rules on this one!!!
So I need to get my Christmas cards done so I'm making one every chance I get! I'm not sure they'll ever get done!!! How are your Christmas cards coming along?
Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, Four the Holidays
Ink: Versamark
Other: Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Very Vanilla Velvet Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Holiday Ornament Dies, Dimensionals

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #61
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I survived my crazy Tuesday! I am impressed. I spent the entire day at the school helping the Grade 1 teachers get their brand new reading carts into circulation. I still have many hours and much laminating to go!!! When I'm done with that I get to move onto the French books!
Wednesday's are always a great day! They bring a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! This week the fabulously talented Jennifer Timko brings us this great sketch! This week we also say good-bye to the lovely Jen Sannes. We will miss her beautiful cards on the DT but I know I'll be checking her blog on a regular basis to see her wonderful creations!
I am really stuck on the Very Vanilla and Soft Suede combination. Forgive me. I know they're not traditional colours! I used some champagne glimmer paint to stamp the snowflakes on. It does look much prettier and sparklier in person. I had some "help" from Jacob with the picture taking so I finally gave up on getting the perfect picture!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Stamps: Serene Snowflakes, Petite Pairs (Sentiment)
Ink: Soft Suede
Other: Basic Pearls, Champagne Glimmer Paint, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Monday Snowflakes
Hello!
Hope everyone had a great Monday! Tuesday is a crazy day here but I'm glad we get it over with early in the week!
I decided that I wanted to participate in the Merry Monday challenge. I had told Lesley a while ago I would get a card ready for the challenge! I think I must have been envious of all of her beautiful Christmas cards!!! I finally had a few minutes to sit down in my disastrous craft room and whip up a card!
I really love the Mixed Medley hostess set. I love the snowflakes and doubly love the mini scalloped circle punch! I threw some rhinestones on the snowflakes just so they sparkled a little.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP: Festival of Prints DSP Pack
Stamps: Mixed Medley, Chock Full of Cheer (Sentiment)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: White Embossing Powder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
Stop by tomorrow to see this week's sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Engagement Wishes
Hello!
I hope you had a great weekend! I can't believe the weekend is over already! How on earth does it go by so quickly?! This week is going to be insane. I guess it will fly by! The boys had their skating lessons this weekend. Pictures posted below. Caleb loves skating and is moving onto "learn to play hockey" lessons next week. Jacob will stay in the "learn to skate" lessons. He really needs to just learn how to stay standing once he's up!
Today's card is for a friend of mine who recently got engaged to her boyfriend! She is a great customer who orders a ton of cards so how can I not make her a card to congratulate her?! She happens to be Asian so I wanted to include a bit of red on her card and minimize the white.
I used a sketch from a recent Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. I didn't get a chance to get the card created in time for the challenge but I do like to go back to these challenge sites and check out their past sketches to use! If you're ever stuck...give it a try!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Stamps: Love and Laughter
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Other: Boho Blossoms Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Labels Framelits, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder
Caleb is all smiles doing his cross-overs! Jacob...well, they put him on the end but when he goes down, the girls go down with him!!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!

Dynamic Christmas Card
Hello!
Happy Remembrance Day! Today is a great day to stop and remember. To stop and be thankful for our freedom and the cost at which it came. I am thankful for my Grandpa who fought for our country in the second world war. I am thankful for the thousands of men and women who currently serve for our freedom world wide. I thank the families who allow their loved ones to serve with honour. Please take a moment today to be thankful and remember.
Today's card is for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge. I am ashamed to say that I do not own anything Sahara Sand. How is that even possible? Especially for a Demonstrator? Shameful I know. I had to substitute Crumb Cake for the Sahara Sand. I love the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set. It has to be one of my favourite sets from the Holiday catalogue - especially with those coordinating dies! I stamped the longer ornament on Crumb Cake using Versamark then used clear embossing powder so the ornament looks a bit darker. Another shameful confession...I just discovered that there was very vanilla seam binding! How on earth did I miss that one? Now that I have it...I can't stop using it!!!!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, Petite Pairs (Sentiment)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Holiday Ornament Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #60
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week so far. I can't believe it's Wednesday already! We had a crazy Tuesday here and I am thankful that it's over. My husband has been away for a few days on a business trip and I'm exhausted!!!
Wednesday brings us another new (and fabulous) sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. Tui Nathan bring us this week's sketch. There is a giant circle on this week's sketch. You all know how I feel about circles!!! I discovered that the star from "The Sounding Joy" fit perfectly in a circle so we were off to the races! I decided to make this card using my traditional Christmas colours of red (or cherry cobbler) and gold (champagne glimmer).
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: The Sounding Joy
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Circle Dies, Gold Embossing Powder, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

Fab Friday Christmas
Hello!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was a tad under the weather yesterday (okay so incredibly under the weather) and was very thankful my fabulous husband took care of the boys and did other things for me around the house! I am feeling much better today - I even got some cards done!
I decided I wanted to get some Christmas cards done since the season is approaching rather quickly and I'm nowhere near ready to go!
I used the Fab Friday sketch to get a jump start! Who doesn't love a great sketch?! I usually require one to start with these days!! Blue and silver are my new go-to colours for Christmas! Strange since my house is decorated in red and gold!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Silver Glimmer, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes
Ink: Night of Navy, Versamark
Other: Snowflake Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Dimensionals, Circle and Scalloped Circles Dies, Silver Embossing Powder
Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!!!

Quint-Essential Flower Card
Hello!
I hope everyone who went out Trick or Treating had a great time! My little boys got a little wet but they seemed to enjoy themselves. Jacob went about half way around our block before he announced he was done and had enough candy! How can he have enough candy?! Does he not know that Mommy needs her share too?! Thankfully they're not really candy addicts so I'm good to go on getting my fix!
I had a few minutes to get a card done this afternoon. I decided to combine two challenges - the Dynamic Duos (More Mustard and So Saffron) and the Paper Players sketch challenge. I love More Mustard and So Saffron together! They are probably two of my favourite monochromatic colours! I decided to use the Quint-Essential Flower stamp for this card. I love this stamp! It's so easy to change each layer to be the colour you want!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, More Mustard, So Saffron
DSP: First Edition
Stamps: Quint-Essential Flower, Create a Cupcake
Ink: More Mustard, So Saffron, Basic Black
Other: Scalloped Circle Punches, Circle Punches, Bitty Banner Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Caleb was so proud of his costume tonight. He loved being a yellow Lego block! Thank you Daddy for doing such a fabulous on his costume!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #59
Hello!
Happy Wednesday and Happy Halloween! Halloween is one of my least favourite holidays...only because my kids aren't big candy eaters and well, I LOVE chocolate and all those little chocolate bars scream my name during the day when the boys aren't home!!! It's terrible! Hopefully they'll get a bag full of lollipops and Fuzzy Peaches so that I am not at all interested!
Today being Wednesday means that it's also time for a brand new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's sketch is brought to us by the fabulous Cindy Hall! Cindy makes the most beautiful cards and she is so inspiring!
I need a few thank you cards. I may have celebrated a birthday a few weeks ago and need to thank some very special people for some very special birthday gifts! My mom bought me the Postage Stamp punch and I've been itching to use it!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black,Whisper White
DSP: Polka Dot Parade
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Boho Blossoms Punch, Button, Daffodil Delight Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Bitty Banner Framelits, Dimensionals
A little sneak peak of my fire breathing dragon! He had his Halloween parade at school today (he doesn't go to school tomorrow) and I couldn't resist posting this picture of my cutie!
Stay tuned for Caleb's costume!!!!

Birthday Cupcakes
Hello!
My apologies that another week has almost passed by again! I have a few cards that are made and waiting to be posted!!!
We had a low key weekend here. Jacob was under the weather and spent all of Saturday in his pjs. He was so excited to have a jamma day! He is feeling much better after a quiet weekend! I spent Saturday afternoon and evening scrapbooking! It was so nice to get something accomplished!
Anyhow, today's card is for a friend who needs a purple and green cupcake card with a Mommy, Daddy and Baby cupcake! I was a little stressed about the baby cupcake until I found one in my Sock Monkey Stamp set! Good thing I held onto that one!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Stamps: Create a Cupcake, Sock Monkey
Ink: Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi
Other: Large Scallop Edgelit, Delicate Designs Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Cupcake Punch, Glitter, Perfect Plum Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Freshly Made Sketches #58
Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great week! I am slowly getting back into the swing of things after a week of absolute chaos! I have a card that I created for last week's Dynamic Duo's challenge that I never got around to even taking a picture of (letting along entering the challenge) because Caleb came home last Wednesday with a mild case of a stomach virus...thankfully he heals quickly! That was just the icing on a very busy week!
This week is looking a bit better! Today is Wednesday which means a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's sketch comes from the incredible Narelle Farrugia! If you haven't checked out Narelle's cards, head on over to her blog! She is fabulous!
As always when it comes to me and making cards you all know that this was probably not my first card right! The first card I tried was a Christmas card. It didn't turn out so well. The next card was a birthday card...that one made me very frustrated...next was this one! I think I'm okay with this one!
I wanted to get out the Summer Starfruit since it's a colour that I don't really use much. I thought it would work for this card. Throw in a butterfly and some bling and I'm totally happy!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black
DSP: Patio Party
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Large Delicate Doilies, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Circle Punches
Thanks for stopping by! I hopefully will be back tomorrow with another card!!!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #57
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I'm looking forward to what today brings! I am going to be having a visit with a friend this morning and spending time with Jacob! Hopefully I'll even get a card or two done in the afternoon at nap time!!!
Wednesday also brings us a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! This week our sketch is brought to us by the extremely talented LeAnne Pugliese! I have been following LeAnne for a few years now and I love her cards! We are so honoured to have her working with us this month!
LeAnne's sketch is great! It is so versatile! You can turn this sketch into anything! I'm going through a soft suede/very vanilla stage right now. I just want to make every card in those colours!!! My mom gave me an early birthday present on the weekend while they were here visiting....the "Blooming with Kindness" stamp set! Yeah! I love it!!! I was so excited and couldn't wait to start using it!
I cut the the flower out twice and mounted them both with dimensionals (one right on top of the other) just to give the card a bit more flare!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
DSP: Comfort Cafe
Stamps: Blooming with Kindness
Ink: Soft Suede, Versamark
Other: Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Basic Pearls, Twine, Stripes Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Hello!
I've been MIA, I know! I'm sorry. My husband and I went away to Upper New York for a few days to celebrate our 10th anniversary! We had a wonderful time away! My favourite part was not having to cut up anyone else's food and being able to eat a hot meal!!! It was fabulous! I'm home now and back into the swing of crafting!
Today's card was created using this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I needed a card for my friend's daughter's birthday! I can't believe this little princess is turning 2 already! I decided to follow the Mojo sketch to get me started! I love butterflies and rhinestones and will take any opportunity to use them!

DSP: Patio Party
Stamps: A Fitting Occasion
