Sweet Baby

Hello!
Hope you're having a great week so far!  I love Thursdays...at least for right now I do!  They're my quiet day...both boys are at school and my volunteering doesn't start until next Thursday so I really have the day to myself!  That being said there is always a ton of stuff to do!!!  Never a dull moment!

I loved the Paper Players sketch this week!  I need a baby card for my neighbours who had a beautiful baby boy (Joshua) last week.  This sketch worked for what I had in mind!  Now if only I could find a sketch that worked for an anniversary card for my upcoming anniversary!!!

I think the Zoo Babies stamp set is perfect for this card!  I stamped the elephant in Bashful Blue and then stamped it again in Midnight Muse and cut out his ear!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Bashful Blue
DSP: Midnight Muse DSP Paper Stack
Stamps: Zoo Babies, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Bashful Blue, Midnight Muse
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits, Argyle Textured Embossing Folder, Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Large Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great day!!!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #105

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  The week is flying by!  I'm already looking forward to the weekend!  We don't really have a lot planned but that's just the way I like it!  Sometimes those are the best kind of weekends.

Today brings us a new and fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  This weeks sketch is courtesy of the talented Allisa Chilton!

I really like this week's sketch!  It's super versatile and I had a lot of fun creating this card!  I know it's made using retired stamps but I still do love to use my retired products!

I hauled out the Elements of Style for this one!  I do love a good hummingbird!  I used the Lacy Brocade Textured Embossing Folder to create the background and then added some pearls to the flowers for an added touch.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Elements of Style, Four You
Ink: Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Basic Pearls, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous week!
Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the fabulous cards the design team has come up with!  They are so amazing this week!

Retro Christmas

Hello!
Are you ready for a new week?  We had a great day despite some cooler temperatures.  The boys headed out to the flying field after church this morning so I enjoyed a few hours by myself!  I even got a few cards done!

I decided to play along with this week's retro sketches challenge!  I love their sketches!  I hadn't played in a while and decided I would join in this week!

You are all probably sick of seeing cards with the Ornament Keepsake stamp set...I apologize!  I love this set and know some of you can't always be buying new stamp sets so sometimes you just have to make different cards using the stamps you've got!  I decided to keep the card simple and very white!  I added some cherry cobbler and ta-da!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Ornament Keepsake,  Four the Holidays
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Holiday Ornament Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a great day!

Big Lego Birthday Wishes

Hello!
Hope you had a great weekend!  I spent the day at a Beth Moore Living Proof seminar at our church!  It was fabulous.  Such a great experience!  It was amazing to see 500+ women together!

I didn't get a chance to make any cards today - but hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll get at a few done as I have heard the boys are heading out flying!!!!

I recently had a customer request for a Lego card!  I decided not to make one of my previous ones and try something new.  I had seen a card last week (not a Lego card) and it had three squares on it.  I immediately thought they could be made into Lego blocks!

Caleb has an upcoming birthday party and this card would work perfectly so I think I'll whip another one up!!!

The squares blocks are 1.5" X 1.5".  The narrow block is 3/4" wide...but now I can't remember how long it is!!!  The small square is 3/4" X 3/4".  I used the 1/2" circle punch to create the dots!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Real Red, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: Birthday stamps from PTI
Ink: Stazon
Other: 1/2" circle punch, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a truly wonderful day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Round #2!

Hello!
Happy Friday!!!  I love Friday's!  My husband had a whirlwind trip to Montreal and back today so it was just mom and the boys this evening!  Thankfully there was an Inspector Gadget movie on that Caleb thought was hilarious...Jacob asked to go to bed halfway through!!!

I made two cards for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  This one is a little stretch from the sketch though...sorry about that ladies!!!!

I need to get going on my Christmas cards and the simpler they are the easier it is to get several done at a time - that being said I only made one...boo!  At least I can go back and make more if need be!  Black and silver isn't really a traditional colour scheme but I have a few people on my list that do love these colours together!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black
Stamps: Bright Hope
Ink: Versamark
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much or stopping by!  I'll be back again tomorrow with another card!

Have great weekend!

CAS(E) This Sketch Autumn

Hello!
We are coasting into Friday!  I'm so excited.  I am looking forward to the weekend!  The boys were pretty tired tonight.  I think they are also looking forward to being able to sleep in on Saturday!  Let's just hope they do!!

I had a few minutes today to get some cards done!  I was super excited!  I will take advantage of these days before the volunteering at the school starts!  CAS(E) This Sketch posted a great new sketch today.    I couldn't wait to play along.  I have really fallen in love with the simple cards!  Though they usually take me the longest to make!

Wonderfall is one of my favourite stamp sets.  I also love the Autumn Accents die!  Saves me cutting out those leaves!!!!
The ink looks dark on the leaf in this picture but it's really just versamark and clear embossing powder!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze
Stamps: Wonderfall, Truly Grateful
Ink: Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Versamark
Other: Natural twine, Autumn Accents, Dimensionals, Distressing tool

Thanks for stopping by!  I have created another card for this challenge (can you tell I loved the sketch?!) so I'll have that for you tomorrow!!

Have a great day!

Seize The Sketch Christmas!

Hello!
I hope you had a great day!  Jacob had an amazing time at his Little Chefs program this afternoon which is great news! He thought it was fabulous and he ended up knowing a lot of the kids there which is good!  I just got in from bootcamp.  We did this challenge thing that left me feeling rather ill!  I love my instructor and am so thankful for the girls that I work out with.  They even made me laugh at the end as I was writhing on the floor!!!

I had a few minutes this afternoon while Jacob was at Little Chefs so I decided to create two different Christmas cards for the Seize the Sketch challenge this week.  Same card - different colours!  Not sure which one I like more!

The Ornament Keepsake stamp set has got to be one of my favourite Christmas sets.  My personal favourite colours are red and gold....though blue and silver and near and dear to my heart as well!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse, Silver Glimmer, Brushed Gold
Stamps: Ornament Keepsake, Snow Swirled
Ink: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Styled Stripes Embossing Folder, Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Finishing Touches Edgelits, Dimsionals

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We've made it halfway through the week.  I got a few minutes yesterday afternoon in my craft room.  I wasn't as creative as I had hoped.  I may get a few extra minutes this afternoon as well since Jacob will be going to a cooking class with two of his friends.  That should be good for a laugh.  I wish I could be there to see it.  He will for have all those ladies in stitches!

Today brings us a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the extremely talented Linda Suarez.   I just love her cards!  This sketch was might fun to play with.  I need more masculine cards since I'm always at a loss so decided I had better made a masculine card with this sketch!

I love the new Sweater Weather DSP from SU!  It has all of my favourite colours!  I added an argyle embossed background and a corduroy button!  I really do love these retired buttons!.

Supplies:

CAS(E) This Sketch Grunge

Hello!
I can't believe it's Monday already!  Wow!  We had a great weekend.  We did some apple picking on Sunday and it was so fun.  The boys are at such a great age for these activities.  It's super nice not to worry about snacks, drinks, diapers etc!!!!

I made this card since I'm always short on masculine birthday cards!   Of course I love the sketches at CAS(E) This Sketch challenge and couldn't resist this one!  I was a little discouraged I missed last week's challenge!!!

So I love the new Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and find it perfect for masculine cards - even for kids or teens!  I decided to go with a Basic Black, Basic Grey and Real Red combo for this card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge, Four You
Ink: Basic Black, Basic Grey, Real Red
Other: Dimensionals

Someone at our house lost their very first tooth today!  I cannot believe that my 5 year old is old enough to lose teeth.  They grow up far too fast!

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Hope you're having a great week!  It was back to school today!  The boys had a great first day!  Jacob didn't go for a whole day today but at least he was in the classroom this afternoon!  Caleb loves his new teachers and seems quite happy with the kids in his class!

Today brings us a brand new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Cindy Hall is our talented hostess this week!  I love, love, love her sketch this week!  I thought for sure I would be doomed but then I decided that a Christmas card would work perfectly!
I decided to use the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set.  I do love this set and am glad that I hung unto it!  I use the brushed gold cardstock and paired it with Early Espresso.  I used the retired Candlelight Christmas DSP from last year....I just love it!  The ribbon is also Early Espresso though it looks chocolate chip in this picture! I think I may try this card in a variety of different colours!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold
DSP: Candlelight Christmas
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon, Holiday Ornament Framelit Dies, Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Oval Dies, Dimensionals

CAS(E) this Sketch Christmas

Hello!
Did you have a great Labour Day long weekend?  We had a great weekend!  We headed to a reptile zoo (refuge) this morning.  It was very educational and the boys had a great time.  They even managed to twist their dad's arm and they came home with snake stuffies...heaven help me!  Tomorrow is the first day of school.  I cannot believe I have a little boy going into Grade 2 and one into Senior Kindergarten!

I didn't get too many cards made on the weekend despite my best efforts!  Just wasn't feeling the creative love!  I do love the CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge and played along.  I decided to go with another Christmas card since my stash will need some replenishing!

I love the Winter Frost specialty DSP.  I wish there was more than one sheet of this fabulous striped and shiny paper in the pack!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Whisper White
DSP: Winter Frost Specialty
Stamps: Ornament Keepsake,  Holiday Button Bits (PTI)
Ink: Island Indigo
Other: Holiday Ornament Dies, Basic Rhinestones, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Stylish Stripes Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals
