Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #142

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Can you believe it's almost the end of June!  Where on earth did that month go?  Our kids have to go to school until Friday (and believe me, it's pain and torture) but then we're home free!  I can't wait to not have to make lunches every day - at least not while we're also trying to make breakfast!

We have a brand new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches today!  I am thrilled to be this week's hostess!  I have some big shoes to fill of Cindy's great sketch last week!  I decided to go with something very simple and clean.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!  I love the diversity we see in the gallery!

I have some teacher cards that need to be created in time for the last day of school.  This probably wasn't the best card to try and re-create 4 times but they're pretty much done!  One final step and I'm off to the races!  My "Another Thank You" arrived on Monday and was put to use right away!  I rubbed craft ink on the back panel to create a chalkboard effect.  Unfortunately it didn't go as planned and I ended up with "lumps".  I also find it amusing that there are no chalk boards in our school.  Guess I should have used a white board or a "Smart Board"!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Stamps: Teacher's Apple (PTI), Another Thank You (SU)
Ink: Versamark, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, White Craft Ink
Other: White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Early Espresso marker

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Freshly Made Sketches #141

Hey There!
It's Wednesday!  Halfway through the week already!  The boys don't have much school left!  I get sad thinking that my baby is going into Grade 1 next year.  How is that even possible?  I've been busy the last few days getting stuff ready for our Church's summer camp.  My friend Julie and I are running a card making elective so I've been cutting up a storm.  I took a break tonight as I'm exhausted and figure I could make a cutting error!

We have a great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  The incredibly talented Cindy Hall has come up with a beauty for us!  I had such a great time playing with this one!

I couldn't help but use the new Moonlight DSP paper stack!  I love the look of Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey together!  Throw in some Smoky slate and I'm sold!!!

I decided to add some faux stitching and a jewel to the banner to add a little pizzazz.  I embossed the smoky slate panel with the honeycomb embossing folder...I needed a little extra texture!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
DSP: Moonlight DSP Stack
Stamps: Just Sayin'
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Other: Basic Rhinestone, White Gel Pen, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Word Bubbles Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog and see what the design team has created for you!  You will not be disappointed!

Have a fabulous day!

3rd Time's a Charm - FMS Challenge #140

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I must say I'm excited that it's Wednesday!  We are one day closer to the weekend!  We are headed to the Hamilton Air Show this weekend - which really isn't an air show this year but there will be plans on the runway for the kids to stare at in wonder so I have three very excited boys at my house!!!

We have a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our lovely hostess this week is the uber talented Linda Callahan!  Don't forget to go and check out her blog!  She is so creative!
So, this is not the first card I made for this sketch.  It isn't even the second card I made for the sketch. I made my first card for my dad for father's day but it wasn't quite screaming my dad's name.  The card itself was fine and my husband decided he wanted to send it to his dad for Father's Day.  I made a second one for my dad and was so excited to have it done and that I would be getting in the mail in time that I totally forgot to take pictures of either card!  That left me heading back to the drawing board for card #3!  Yup, if my head wasn't attached I would totally leave it somewhere!

I went for a very clean look on this card.  Those butterflies are hanging on for dear life and I will need to try adhering them with something else!!! I could have added some sequins (and I still might) but I really did want to keep the card clean!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Four You
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and you will be amazed by the fabulous card the design team has created for you!!!

Have a  wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #139

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Can you believe it's Wednesday?!  This week actually feels like it's going rather slow around here for some reason.  It has been a nice week so far though and we've been enjoying some super warm weather!  The boys have been loving being able to go in the pool!  It's supposed to cool off tomorrow for a bit which will be nice!

We have a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of the super creative Rita Wright!  When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought that I should get a start on the end of the year Teacher cards and then I thought I should make my parents their 40th anniversary card but I ended up hauling out the Open Sea stamp set....which doesn't work for either of those cards!

I love the Open Sea!  It is so perfect for masculine cards and I must apologize to those men in my life who receive more than one card made using this set!

I went with Midnight Muse (I miss this colour soooooo much!), Cherry Cobbler, some Crumb Cake and a touch of Early Espresso!  I originally hadn't embossed the tag but it looked like it was missing something so I got out my Arrows Textured Embossing Folder and added a bit of texture!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Open Sea, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Early Espresso, Midnight Muse
Other: Arrows Textured Embossing Folder, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Silver Brads, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope that you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and checked out the samples that the design team has cooked up for you!  They are definitely worth the visit!

Have a fabulous day!

Welcome Baby!

Hello!
I hope you are having a great start to your week!  I just got in from boot camp and am feeling rather sleepy!  Writing this post is taking a lot of focus!!!

I made this card some time last week but only managed to get it upstairs to take a picture today!  I'm so ashamed!  I loved the sketch at Seize The Sketch this week!  Such clean lines!  I just had to play along!

I really do love the new Something for Baby stamp set!  I also love that it has a coordinating die set!  Easy Peasy!  I have always wanted to do one of those wrinkled bows.  My friend Jennifer Timko is making them often and they are always so beautiful!  I'm not sure mine turned out the way I wanted it to!  I had to add some pearls, a bit of sponging and some distressing with the Distressing Tool.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand
Stamps: Something for Baby, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Sahara Sand
Other: Baby's First Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Sponge Daubers, Distressing Tool, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  The new Freshly Made Sketches post will also be coming up in a few hours so make sure you come back!

Have a fabulous day!
