Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #563

Hello! Happy Wednesday!  Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends! I hope all have an amazing weekend celebrating!  Are you ready for Black Friday?  I am going to try and get most of my shopping done before the weekend and I'm hoping I've made my last trip to a mall!  I am not a big fan of crowds of people so I will avoid all stores this weekend!

We've got a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  I am fortunate to be your hostess this week!  I do love when you get to go through each card and comment!  I love to see all the different takes and I love getting to know you better - especially when you post pics of your fur babies!

I of course am still trying to get some Christmas cards done and really love playing with my hot foil machine.  My issue is that I only have a couple of plates and the ones I ordered didn't quite make it for some reason.  Don't ask.  I saw a Christmas card recently that had a wreath on it made of different foliage (this was a Hallmark card - not a handmade one) but I knew I could use that idea for my card!  I made a silver circle using the hot foil machine.  It doesn't show up too great in the picture though.  I added some foliage and a baby poinsettia and I was off to the races!  I threw on the same sentiment I used last week because that silver looks so pretty on the dark green!

Supplies
Cardstock: Hammermill White, Shaded Spruce, Soft Succulent, Cherry Cobbler, Real Red
Other: Silver Foil (Spellbinders), Nested Circles (Pink Fresh), Christmas Mailbox Greetings (Spellbinders), Poinsettia Dies (SU), Pretty Pine Thinlits (SU), Basic Rhinestones (SU), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  The Design Team has some amazing cards posted that you'll love!

We definitely can't wait to see what you create this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #561

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm bringing you this card from the North Pole - or so it feels like! We've had a pile of snow and it's been crazy cold!  The overnight temperature was -28 feeling like -36!  Oh so fun!  Today is supposed to be the last day of the crazy cold though.  Hopefully it's warmed up a bit by tomorrow!  This cold, snowy weather seems so early but it does get you in the Christmas mood!

We've got a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Linda Callahan!  Linda's cards are always fabulous so you need to head over to her blog and check them out!

I am in desperate need of Christmas cards so I knew I needed to knock another one off the list!  I hauled out my Poinsettia Dies and some older Christmas DSP and went to town!  I added in some bits and bobs (as my friend Donna would say) from other die sets and voila!  A Christmas card is born!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Real Red, Garden Green, Silver
DSP: Painted Christmas (SU)
Stamps: Happy Scenes (SU)
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Other: Blending Brushes (Taylored Expressions), Poinsettia Dies (SU), Stitched So Sweetly Dies (SU), Pretty Pines (SU), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  We love seeing all the different cards you create!  The Design Team has also come up with some amazing cards to inspire you!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #488

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are having a great start to your week!  We've been early watching our robin's nest and the babies have gotten so big so fast!  I feel like they doubled in size just over night.  Only a few more days until they'll be out of the next and toddling around.  Thankfully our backyard seems very protected and our little feathery friends should be safe and sound.

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Jen Mitchell!  Jen is the queen of the CAS card!  Her cards are always so elegant and make me smile!

I need a couple of extra Father's Day cards and I don't always know what to do for these masculine cards.  I feel like I never buy the masculine stamps for some reason.  I had just made a few cards using these tree dies and realized they would be perfect for my Father's Day cards as well.  As I posted my card I realized that Jacquie and I had the same idea about our Father's Day cards.  I'm going to go with "great minds think alike"!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Evening Evergreen
Stamps: Crazy About You
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Pine Planks Embossing Folder, Pretty Pines Thinlits, Other little diecut trees (Taylored Expressions) Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll take some time to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards that are "on display".  They sure are beautiful this week!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #358

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm super proud of myself for remembering to get this post done!  I seriously can't believe that I forgot the last two weeks in a row!  I'm getting in the groove around here so it's getting easier to remember things!  We're having some gorgeous weather here today and I totally don't want it to end.  It's been super humid but I don't mind - I know what's coming so I'll take a couple more days of this summer weather!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of the amazing Karren Johnson.  Karren's our New Zealand demonstrator (who I totally want to visit) and she makes gorgeous cards.  She makes beautiful backgrounds and colours like a queen!  Check out her blog to be amazed!

So I'm pretty sure Karren tried to do me in with this sketch.  There are 4 circles on this sucker.  4.  I didn't quite know where to start.  Then I thought it reminded me of a wreath.  I started with a Christmas wreath and that went disastrously.  Did not turn out at all so I tried a heart with some flowers and that didn't work so this is where we ended up.  I'm totally happy with it and must say red and grey make my heart flutter a bit!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Sweet Celebration (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Black
Other: Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Warm Welcome Dies (Lil' Inkers), Pretty Pines Thinlits, Black Rhinestons, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created.  You will totally be inspired!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #261

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Can you believe it's November?!  Where did September and October go?  I guess that means we are one step closer to Christmas!  Maybe I should get started on my Christmas shopping!  Better yet, I should get started on my Christmas cards!  I don't make too many these days so I don't think I have too many to do!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the fabulous Cindy Hall!  Cindy makes amazing cards and you need to head over to her blog to check them out!  Her sketch is so fun this week - except that I totally didn't follow it properly!  The girls may boot me off the team!!!

I really wanted to use my Christmas Pines stamps and Pretty Pines dies for this card.  I didn't really relish the thoughts of cutting out that banner but alas, it's cut out!  I thought the pine cones needed a little sparkle so I used some glimmer cardstock.  I opted to use some greenery instead of patterned paper for my strip behind the rectangle.  I totally forgot to offset my mat though.  Ugh.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Gumball Green, Gold Glimmer
Stamps: Christmas Pines
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Other: Pretty Pines Thinlits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has come up with!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #255

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope your week has started out well!  We've had some beautiful summer weather here which has been lovely!  This weekend my youngest is having his "friend" birthday party.  Even though he has a summer birthday we wait until fall to have his "friend" party.  I've been busy trying to get ready for that!  We are doing a baseball theme!  Should be a fun time!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of Amy O'Neill!  Amy makes the most delightful cards!  She is so creative and just amazes me with her creativity!  I want to be like Amy when I grow up!!!!

Of course I realize now I put my sentiment in the wrong spot.  That's what happens when you're trying to make your card quickly.  This card was supposed to be a beautiful fall card with gorgeous leaves.  As you can see that card didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to.  So I ended up with some black pine cones and black pine boughs.  Real festive colours!!!  I think the girls on our DT just set the bar so high with their amazing cards!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Red Glimmer
Stamps: Star of Light (sentiment)
Ink: Versamark Black
Other: Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies, Silly Stitched Dies (Lil' Inkers)

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I hope you will head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out all the beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you!

Have a wonderful day!

Jen
