Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #261

Happy Wednesday!  Can you believe it's November?!  Where did September and October go?  I guess that means we are one step closer to Christmas!  Maybe I should get started on my Christmas shopping!  Better yet, I should get started on my Christmas cards!  I don't make too many these days so I don't think I have too many to do!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the fabulous Cindy Hall!  Cindy makes amazing cards and you need to head over to her blog to check them out!  Her sketch is so fun this week - except that I totally didn't follow it properly!  The girls may boot me off the team!!!

I really wanted to use my Christmas Pines stamps and Pretty Pines dies for this card.  I didn't really relish the thoughts of cutting out that banner but alas, it's cut out!  I thought the pine cones needed a little sparkle so I used some glimmer cardstock.  I opted to use some greenery instead of patterned paper for my strip behind the rectangle.  I totally forgot to offset my mat though.  Ugh.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Gumball Green, Gold Glimmer
Stamps: Christmas Pines
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Other: Pretty Pines Thinlits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has come up with!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Have a fabulous day!

  1. Love the greens on your card! So pretty for the holidays!

  2. Love your take on the sketch, Jen! The die-cuts really pop against the white card base!

  3. What a beautiful arrangement! And I'm glad you cut the banner out -- it adds so much to the card. Love this, Jen!

  4. Nice job cutting that banner out. You're a pro! And I love the sparkly pine cones. I think I have some dies that are similar so I will try that out!

  5. This is truly gorgeous. The greenery extending the banner and the glimmer pinecones - amazing!

  6. Oh, Jen, this is so gorgeous! So refreshingly clean, yet stunning details. You followed the sketch well enough for my liking! Those pine cones are the prettiest I've seen.

  7. Such an awesome Christmas card! Love this stunning banner and the gorgeous greenery behind it.

  8. Totally gorgeous and eye-catching design. I lOVE it.
