Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #660

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  I took last week off (unintentionally really) as I was visiting my parents in Ontario.  I had such a great visit.  I was too short and the next one will need to be longer!  The trees were so beautiful in their colourful autumn garb.  I was so happy to see the leaves in all their glory!  I haven't spent any time in Ontario in fall for the last couple of years so it was so nice to see all the different colours!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our lovely hostess is the Judy Rozema!  Judy makes the most beautiful cards so please head over to her blog to check them out!

This card actually came together rather quickly which I know is shocking.  This pack of paper was sitting on my desk and was screaming to be used so I picked out some holly paper because I knew I had some holly leaf dies that would go with it.  I grabbed the biggest Christmas sentiment sent that I had and I was off to the races.  In hindsight I should have stamped the sentiment in a colour other than black but alas, here we are!  I really like the black ink I have and it doesn't usually fail me so I wanted to stick with something I knew would stamp well!  I did use some Wink of Stella on the holly berries so that they would be a little sparkly but of course it doesn't show up in the photo!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Shaded Spruce (All SU)
Patterned Paper: Simple Vintage Yuletide (Simple Stories)
Stamps: Carols of Christmas (SU)
Ink: Detail Black (Pink Fresh Studio)
Dies:  Lovely Layers Winter Greenery (Honey Bee Stamps), Ovals (Spellbinders)
Other: Wink of Stella

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week!  We always love to see what you create!  It's also getting to be time to create my Christmas wish list so your cards always give me great ideas!

You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered in this week's challenge!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #616

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far.  We received a surprise dumping of snow last week so it looks like we'll have a white Christmas.  Trevor and I got out for our first ski of the season on the weekend.  I am not a confident skier.  I don't possess that athletic prowess that most seem to have.  Skiing is very hard for me and so I really have to push myself to do it.  We had a great day and I mostly stayed upright which was the goal.  I'm sure the next time we go out I'll feel much more comfortable!

We've got a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our favourite Texan and the incredibly talented Amy O'Neill!!!  Amy's cards are always gorgeous so make sure you head over to her blog and check them out!
This was such a great sketch and the timing was perfect because I knew I was going to need a couple more Christmas cards.  My husband asked me for a few extras so he could give them to his staff.  I also think I will need one for my hair dresser!  Maybe I should just make enough to get started on next year's!

Yup, black on black with the poinsettia's again.  Why re-invent the wheel when it's working?!  I added some Wink of Stella to the pine boughs to make them a little sparkly!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Shaded Spruce, Gold Foil (All SU)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green
Other: Christmas Bird and Poinsettia (Spellbinders), Lovely Layers Winter Greenery (Honey Bee Stamps), Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder (SU), A Merry Little Christmas Sentiments (Spellbinders), Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders), Gold Foil (Spellbinders), Wink of Stella

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week!

You will definitely be inspired when you see the cards that are posted!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #612

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  It seems like we have gone fro the fall season to Christmas in the blink of an eye!  So many people have their Christmas trees up and have their houses all decorated.  I feel very far behind this year.  I'm usually well into my shopping by now but this year I just can't seem to get motivated.  Maybe this weekend we'll put up the nutcrackers or something and see if we can get some festive spirit going.

We've got a fantastic new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess is the super funny and incredibly talented Linda Callahan!  Linda's cards are always beautiful so make sure you head over to her blog and show her some love!

I'm going to admit the sketch through me for a loop.  I know I need more Christmas cards so I wanted to go with a Christmas theme but I couldn't seem to get any mojo going for this card.  Even now I'm not thrilled with the final product.  I had to whip it up fast because I was running out of time.  Oh well, I will need to get my act together for next week right?  This card uses the Lovely Layers Winter Greenery set from Honey Bee Stamps.  I don't think I've ever used the pine cones before and they're quite fun to work with!  I added some Wink of Stella to the berries and some of the greenery since it needed a little sparkle.  Sparkle never shows up in the photos though!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill White Coverstock, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso
Ink: Gathered Twigs, Ground Espresso, Rustic Wilderness (All Distress Oxides)
Other:  Lovely Layers Winter Greenery (Honey Bee Stamps), Joyful Christmas Sentiments (Spellbinders), Red Foil, Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders), Wink of Stella, Monoline Stars Embossing Folder (Spellbinders)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll join in our challenge this week!  Head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and you'll see some amazing cards that the Design Team has cooked up for you!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #570

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We are bracing ourselves for the polar vortex that's headed our way later this week.  I am not impressed though I guess it's winter and we shouldn't be surprised!  I guess I'll need to get betting out the medium weight winter coat for the next week or so.  Yes, when you live in Alberta you have several winter coats.  The light weight one (0 to -15) the medium one (-15 to -25) and then the heavy duty parka for colder than that.  Plus there's the ski coat.  And if you're a hiker you never put your winter coat away because some of those mountain peaks stay frosty all year round!!!!

We've got a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made SketchesJennifer Timko is hosting our party this week!  Her sketch is fantastic and I saw so many possibilities!  Makes sure you head over to Jen's blog to check out her gorgeous cards!

I made a card with the Lovely Layers Winter Birds dies a few weeks ago!  Mr. Cardinal was so pretty but I wanted to have a go with the chickadee!  You don't get much cuter than a Chickadee!  I opted for a square card because my bird and branch fit better on a square than a rectangle.  I dug out some old SU DSP and went to town!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Very Vanilla, Garden Green, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Real Red, Wild Wasabi
DSP: Peaceful Prints
Other: Lovely Layers Winter Birds (Honey Bee Stamps), Lovely Layers Winter Greenery (Honey Bee Stamps), Posh Hello (Memory Box), Timber Embossing Folder (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I hope you will join in our challenge this week!  Head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out what the Design Team has created!  I'm pretty sure you will be inspired!

Have an amazing day!
