More Poppies!

Hello!
Happy Tuesday!  Another random card post!  I know, it's shocking!  I'm shocked myself but it's the poppies.  I cannot help playing with the poppies!  I just love them and the paper!!!  There is a fun and slightly challenging sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do so I just started playing around with my card and voila!

This isn't the first sentiment I put on and I had to peel the other one off and change things up a bit because it just didn't look right.  This photo does not do the card justice either.  The paper is just so pretty!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Gold Foil
DSP: Peaceful Poppies
Other: Poppy Moments Dies, Celebrate Script (Taylored Expressions), Celebrate Backer (Taylored Expressions), Peaceful Poppies Sequins, Dimensionals

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today!

I hope you have an amazing day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Poppy

Hello!
Happy Sunday!  Some of you might be shocked seeing a notification that I made another card!  It shocked me too!  I decided to take some time this weekend and work on a card that wasn't for a Design Team!  I also wanted to play with some of the goodies that I received for Christmas and haven't really had a chance to open yet!

I opened the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and just loved it!  I knew exactly how I would play this one out!!!

I love my new Stampin Up poppy stamps and dies and knew they would work perfectly for this card.  I also incorporated my Honey Bee stamps as well!  I also have a thing for black, white and red so I was excited to give this a try!  That poppy though.  I just can't get enough of the poppies!

Supplies
Cardstock: Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Basic Black
Stamps: Painted Poppies, Honey Bee (SU)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Poppy Moments Dies, Peaceful Poppy Sequins, Stitched Rectangles (Lil Inkers), Stitched Banner (no idea where this came from), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have an amazing day!!!

CAS(E) This Sketch Wisemen

Hello!
Happy Sunday!   I hope you're having a great weekend!  Caleb is away at his second retreat this week.  I hope he's having a great time.  They've had fantastic weather - a bit warm but that's okay.  I think it's better warm than cold!  I'm sure he'll come home exhausted but happy!

I had some spare time yesterday and decided to play along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  I haven't really done other challenges in a very LONG time.  I really want to start allotting more time each week to be able to actually sit down and make cards and actually enjoy it!!!

I was inspired by Brian's card this week and decided to do my own little version.  I had to flip the sketch around a bit so that the star wasn't behind my wisemen!  I am slowly making a dent in my Christmas cards!  When I say slowly, I mean very, very slowly!!!  Thankfully Christmas is still three months away!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Silver glimmer
Stamps: Wisemen from Afar
Ink: Versamark Black
Other: Sequins, Bethlehem Edgelits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have a fantastic day!

Flowerly Thanks

Hello!
I hope you've had a great start to your week!  It was a quieter day around our house today.  Caleb went to his first day of Goalie (hockey) camp!  He was exhausted when I brought him home.  He will be some tired tomorrow when he gets up!

I made a quick card up for a friend.  She requested a few thank you and birthday cards and while I have a stack of birthday cards, the thank you cards were lacking!  I saw the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch and thought I'd give it a whirl.

The sketch is a little intimidating but I had just received the Botanical Builders stamps and dies and I couldn't wait to use them so decided to try and make it work for this sketch!  I added a little Wink of Stella to the flower's centres.  Who doesn't love a little sparkle?!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Smokey Slate
DSP: A Little Foxy DSP Stack
Stamps: In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Smokey Slate
Other: Botanical Builders Dies, Basic Rhinestones, Wink of Stella, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Flower Power

Good Morning!
I totally forgot to get this post up last night!  With the kids being gone I lose all attention to what day it is and when things need to happen!  It's good and bad all at the same time!  We will be meeting my parents today and will bring the boys back home much to the dismay of my oldest who wants to stay with Grannie and Papa for another two weeks!  I love how much he loves being with them.

I wanted to play along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge before the kids came home and craft room time becomes non-existent!  I decided I would take a liberal approach to the sketch.  I hope that's okay!

I didn't really have a swirly stamp so I opted for the flower from Blooming with Kindness (SU).  I decided that a single colour just wouldn't do it so I went with a double colour flower!  I used some stamps from Tim Holtz's crazy birds, threw on some bling and called it a day!  Shockingly this one didn't take me too long - which was nice for a change.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Blooming with Kindness, Crazy Birds (Tim Holtz - From Michaels)
Ink: Black Stazon, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
Other: Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Celebrate with Triangles!

Hello!
I know!  Another post!  Don't get too excited though...I didn't get any cards made today!  I did buy a new stamp set though and spent the afternoon practising my colouring.  I am not gifted in the colouring department but my husband did say that I was doing a pretty good job!!!  I think that's a good thing!

I saw the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch and decided I wanted to play along.  At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do and then I discovered my dual stitched triangle dies I had recently ordered from Lil' Inkers!

It took a little playing with these guys to get them to work but in the end I'm pretty happy with the bright, cheery triangles!  I added a sentiment from the LJD Birthday Greetings (MFT) and the card was ready to go!  It may seem like it took 5 minutes to make and may even look like it took 5 minutes to make but it didn't!!!  I wish!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: LJD Birthday Greetings (MFT)
Ink: Black Stamen
Other: Dual Stitched Triangle Dies, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!

Have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Bright White!

Hello!
Happy Monday!  It's Family Day here in Ontario!  I must say I do love Monday's that are holidays!  We had a church skate this afternoon with our Harvest Bible Chapel family!  It is so fun to get together with so many people!  The kids had a blast!

I had a few minutes yesterday to play in my craft room.  Since it's been cleaned I've been trying really hard to keep it clean and to make sure I put stuff away when I'm done.  My craft room has always been the one room in the house that I never cared how it looked.  Now that it's clean I don't know if I can go back to the way it was!

I saw the sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch! and know I had to try a card.  Now, my sentiment isn't exactly in the right spot but it would have looked really funny at the bottom of my card!

I wanted to use my new Sunburst Thinlit from Stampin' Up!  I love sun bursts and when I saw this sketch I knew I wanted to try and incorporate this die!  I used the coordinating Sunburst Sayings stamp set as well!  I threw on some sequins and called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Silver
Stamps: Sunburst Sayings
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Double Stitched Circles (Lil' Inkers), Sunburst Thinlits, Silver Sequins, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Airplanes!

Hello!
A quick post tonight before I head off to bed!  It's been a busy Tuesday!  Tuesday's are fondly referred to as Titanic Tuesdays around here!  Thankfully it was a relatively good day and it's almost over!  I made this card yesterday but forgot to get it posted!

I needed a card for my husband's birthday!  It's tomorrow!  I was going to do something with a coffee cup (or a tea cup in his case) but I couldn't get anything to work.  Then I saw the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch and thought I would try and incorporate his love of airplanes into this sketch!

I remembered I had the Sky is the Limit from the SU Sale-a-Bration flyer and knew that would work perfectly with this sketch!  I used the clouds from the Reverse Confetti Sun 'n Clouds Confetti Cuts.  I stuck with a black and white theme.  I couldn't quite figure out what colour would work so I stuck with just the plain Jane black and white!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Sky is the Limit
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Sun 'n Clouds Confetti Cuts, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Poppies

Hello!
I don't often get a chance to do a blog post in-between my Freshly Made sketches posts!  I saw the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge today and knew I had to play and new I wanted to use this new set I got from My Favourite Things!

I love poppies!  I don't know why but I do!  They're so pretty!  I don't know if I've ever even seen a real one!!!!  Oh, I've been informed that my mother grows them so I guess I have seen a real one!  Just not a real red one!!!! I wanted to use traditional red.  I love red, black and white together!  I was going to use the die to cut the flowers out but also wanted to keep this card flat!

Supplies;
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: LJD Pretty Poppies (MFT)
Ink: Stazon Black, Real Red, Versamark
Other: White Embossing Powder, Sequins (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Unique

Hello
Happy Saturday and Happy Thanksgiving weekend to my fellow Canadians!  We are having such a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend here so far.  I cooked my turkey today but we will be eating it tomorrow.  I can't wait!  We sure have so much to be thankful for this year.

I had a few minutes this afternoon while the bird was cooking away to run down to my craft room to work on a card.  The boys were out flying today which was even more of a bonus!  I didn't get a chance to play with the sketch last week from CAS(E) This Sketch so I knew I would need to play this week!  I decided to stick very closely to this sketch!  I loved the butterflies and wanted to continue with that theme!  I also couldn't think of anything else small enough that would work!

I didn't quite know what to do with the sentiment then remembered the "Being Unique is Better than Being Perfect" one from Reverse Confetti and knew that would work splendidly!  I could just punch out 8 small black butterflies and then stamp and punch out another one in a different colour.  I happened to have some Calypso Coral sitting on my desk so that's what got used!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Calypso Coral
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Stazon Black
Stamps: Fabulous Flamingo (Reverse Confetti)
Other: Bitty Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful and thankful weekend!

Snowflake Fun

Hello!
Happy Saturday!  I almost forgot to do this post up!  I hope you're having a great weekend.  It was a beautiful day here.  Some friends and I went to check out the local "Made in Canada" Etsy craft sale today.  I must say, there are a lot of very talented people out there!  Wow!  I was impressed!

I had a few minutes this afternoon while the boys were out flying with my husband to get a card made!  I decided to go with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  I loved the sketch!  I couldn't decide what type of card to do but realized that my Christmas card stash is basically non-existant so I figured that was a good place to start!

I decided the card looked a little plain without the embossing but used the new Softly Falling embossing folder from SU to create the background!
I must say I'm not happy that my sentiment has bumps on it.  That's not from running it through the embossing folder, it's from the die.  I tried using wax paper and even adding in another piece of paper in while I cut it out but nothing seemed to make the bumps go away.  If you know a trick, let me know!
This is a stamp and ink free card!  I was rather excited about that!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper white, Silver
Other: Snowflake Punch, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Christmas Greetings Thinlits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!!!

CAS(E) This Sketch Celebrate

Hello!
Happy Sunday!  It's a beautiful day here, a little cool but that's okay.  It's starting to feel a bit more fall'ish around here!  I may have gotten out some of my fall decorations yesterday!  I LOVE pumpkins (especially stuffed ones) and I couldn't wait to have them sitting out!  Don't get me wrong, I like them now but give me a few weeks and I'll be wanting to put them away again!  Thankfully Canadian Thanksgiving is early!

I made this card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  I must admit that I did find the sketch tricky and I'm not happy with my card!   Some people can create such beautiful cards with "randomly placed" elements.  I cannot.

I decided to use my Dot Spot stamp set from PTI.  I love that set and don't use it nearly as much as I should.  It's so fun to play with.  I love Bermuda Bay and Pool Party together.  They just strike me as happy colours!  I hadn't used my Natural Elements Sayings yet so I wanted to try those out as well!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
Stamps: Dot Spot
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits, Stitched Squares (Lil Inkers), Bermuda Bay Sequins, Natural Elements Sayings, Dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Birthday Wishes

Hello!
I hope you're all having a great week!  It's been beautiful here and the weather has been so summery! I do hope this weather continues for awhile!

I had a few minutes at home alone this morning and decided I would play along with a challenge I had been unable to join in on in a very long time.  I am hoping to be able to take part in more challenges over the next little while but we shall see!

CAS(E) This Sketch is one of my favourite challenges and I loved this week's sketch but this one did stump me!  I don't do so well with washi tape so I knew I would have to use stamps!

I don't think my card is much like the sketch - I took a very liberal interpretation of the sketch.  I don't usually do that.   I feel kinda guilty!  Anyhow, I got my Butterfly Basics stamp set out and went to town!

I used some of the thicker Whisper White cardstock for the card base and it's fantastic!  Sure helped give my card a lot more stability!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Smokey Slate, Crushed Curry, Blackberry Bliss, Stazon Black
Other: Butterfly Basics Thinlits, 3/4" circle punch, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I will be back shortly with this week's new Freshly Made Sketches sketch!!!!  It's a fun one!

Have a great day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Hello!

Hello!
Happy Tuesday!  I don't normally get to post on a Tuesday afternoon!  It's been a very chilly start to the week.  We celebrated Family Day here in Ontario yesterday and were able to go skating together - thankfully indoors!  It was so fun to see the kids skate around and remember that even last year Jake had trouble skating on his own.  This year he whipped around like no one's business!  They are growing far too fast!

I have missed making cards for challenges and had a few minutes this afternoon to make a card.  I can honestly say that cards don't usually come together quickly but I knew when I looked at the sketch from this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge exactly what I wanted to make!  This is a very rare occurrence...trust me!

I love butterflies and I think I could put them on every card I make!  I tried making tho scare with sequins (and I do love sequins) but there was just something about it I didn't like.  I decided this one could just be plain.    I like simple...a lot!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti),  Dot Spot (PTI)
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Basic Black
Other: Daffodil Delight Blendabilities,  Elegant Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!
I will be back tomorrow with this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Have a great day!

CAS(E) This Donut!

Hello!
Happy Wednesday again!  I should have gotten my act together yesterday and gotten this post up!  It completely slipped my mind.  I hope you're having a great day!  It is a beautiful, sunny, warmish day in Southern Ontario.  The temperature is perfect for January!  We're heading into another cold snap so we will enjoy the sun and the warmth today!

I love the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!  It was so fun and I needed another Valentine's Day card!  I really should be making my husband a birthday card since that happens first but I was in a Valentine's Day kind of mood!

I totally love the the Donut You Know stamp set and Confetti Cut from Reverse Confetti!  It is super cute and worked perfectly for the card I wanted to make!  I decided using Red Glimmer paper for the hearts would work - but the hearts were a little harder to stick on than I had anticipated.

If you wonder why the donut looks a little funny - it's just Glassy Glaze Enamel!  I wanted my donut to have an authentic glazed look.  The glaze didn't work as well over the glimmer paper as it has in the past using regular card stock or DSP for the "sprinkles"!  Yes, that is another stitched rectangle you see.  Sorry - I love them.  I can't stop using them!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Stamps: Donut you Know (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Other: Donut Confetti Cuts, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals, Glassy Glaze Enamel

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This Sketch and a Flamingo!

Hello!
Can you believe how cold it is out there?  Maybe only for those of you who live in Ontario!  We are having a very cold and windy day out there.  The kids were bundled this morning and I doubt they'll even get outside much today - if at all.  We have a rule that they can't be out if it's -20C or below.  The kids that are bundled would be fine but there are those that show up to school with no coat, hats or mitts.

On a cold day like today, I love the looks of this cute pink Flamingo!  I had a chance on the weekend to play with some of my new stamps from Reverse Confetti!  I love them!  Only a handful of you would know of my love of flamingos!  Only real ones - I don't collect things with flamingos on them!

I have really missed playing along at CAS(E) this sketch and so this was the first place I went when I had a few moments.  I love the sketch and thought my sweet little friend worked perfectly!

I really do love the stitched rectangle mats.  I apologize now but I think they'll be used on every card from now on.  I can't help it - I really do love them that much!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Fabulous Flamingo (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Basic Black
Other: Stitched Mats (Lil' Inkers), Silver Sequins (SU), Fabulous Flamingo Confetti Cuts, dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I'll be back tomorrow morning with this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!

Have a fabulous day!

Mother's Day Blooms

Hello!
I hope you've had a great weekend!  We had a fun weekend here!  The boys spent the day flying today and had a blast!  I enjoyed some time playing in my craft room!  We have a fun week ahead of us.  Tomorrow the boys are doing "Run Club" after school.  We will see how this goes.  I'll be "running" with them which I'm hoping equates to walking quickly!!!  A few of their friends will be joining us so hopefully they find it fun!

I loved this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  They paired up with Runway Inspired challenge and have created a fabulous two week sketch/inspiration challenge!  I love it!

I am trying to get a few Mother's Day cards made up!  I only have one mom but I have a few orders to fill!!!  I am very sad that Stampin' Up is retiring the Secret Garden stamp set.  I absolutely love it!  I love the flowers and love using the dies!  Makes life a whole lot easier!

I decided to tie the black and red from the sweater and the pattern from the shorts into my card along with the flowers!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red
DSP: Fresh Prints DSP Stack
Stamps: Secret Garden, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Secret Garden Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Circle cutters (Non-SU), Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a great day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Butterflies!

Hello!
Hope you had a great weekend!  We had such beautiful weather here and we were able to get out and enjoy it on Saturday and Sunday!  Tomorrow they are forecasting snow!  I must say that I'm not looking forward to seeing that white fluffy stuff.  Hopefully it doesn't stay on the ground and we will have springlike temperatures back in no time.

I had a few minutes in the craft room Saturday afternoon and got a card made for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  I really loved this week's sketch and have missed playing along the last few weeks.

I used the Brights DSP Paper Pack and combined the Daffodil Delight with some Basic Grey.  I just couldn't help pairing these two fab colours again!

I of course had to add some butterflies and a bit of bling!  I decided to stamp my sentiment using silver embossing powder on vellum.  Not sure I should have done that but it's done now!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight
DSP: Brights Paper pack
Stamps: Four You
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Vellum, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Chevrons!

Hello!  Happy Tuesday!
I hope you're having a great week!  It was a beautiful sunny day here in Burlington today.  The snow is melting and for that I am truly thankful!  I totally am looking forward to spring!  I can't wait for the rest of the snow to melt!  We are supposed to get some rain tomorrow so hopefully that will take care of a good chunk of the rest of it!!

I really liked this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!  At first I didn't know what I would do with the sketch but then I realized that I could use chevrons....again!  I'm so sorry about all of the chevrons but at least it appears I'm over my neutrals kick (until you see one of the cards I made for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge!).

So, as you may realize, the chevron embossing folder from Stampin' Up actually has the chevrons going the other way (it is designed to have the chevrons emboss side to side landscape no portrait).  It was actually quite easy to just turn the folder the other way and run it through the Big Shot twice to get the entire piece of cardstock embossed!  It left a little line on the cardstock but I covered most of it with the banners and from the picture you can't really see it anymore!  If this is completely confusing to you, I apologize!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Costal Cabana, Basic Black
DSP: Fresh Prints DSP Paper Stack (I LOVE THIS PAPER!!!!)
Stamps: Birthday Bash Sentiments (PTI)
Ink: Black
Other: Chevrons Embossing Folder, Banners Framelits Dies, Word Bubbles Framelits, Dimensionals

Hope you have a great day!  There's another post coming right up!

CAS(E) This Sketch Dots

Hello!
Happy Tuesday!  Another day time post!  Very unusual here!  I have a sick little boy at home with me today.  Makes me sad.  Jacob was diagnosed with strep throat Monday morning.  He is a tough cookie so to see him completely wiped out is so sad.  He still hasn't perked up.  We are just waiting for these antibiotics to kick in.  Hopefully he'll be back to his energetic self tomorrow!

I had a few minutes to play in the craft room on the weekend - but only a few.  I had to play along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!!  I loved the new sketch!  I really wish I had a snowman I could have used but I had to improvise!

I don't think you can ever have too many birthday cards on hand!  I had seen Mary Fish feature a card last week using the Rock 'n Roll technique which I haven't used in ages!  I decided I would use PTI's Dot Spot stamp set for this card and thought the Rock 'n Roll technique would be perfect!  I opted for a little Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie ink and away I went!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Birthday Bash Sentiments, Dot Spot
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black
Other: Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow morning with this week's Freshly Made Sketches post!  Super fun sketch this week so you won't want to miss it!!!

Have a great day!
