Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #540

Happy Wednesday!
Hope you're having a wonderful week!  We're having a super wet week!  This is apparently rainy season/snow melt season!  The mountains are losing their snow and it's creating rain and crazy wind!  We've received sooo much rain in the last 72 hours!  We need the rain desperately - but spreading it out seemed like a better idea to me!  Some areas in the mountains actually got 70 mm of rain and 48 cm of snow the other day!  Ummm...no thanks!  We will do our best to stay warm and dry here!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our lovely hostess if the amazing "queen of elegantly simple cards" Jen Mitchell!  Jen's cards are always so eye catching!  Head over to her blog and check them out!

I had a few ideas for Jen's sketch and started with a masculine card - since I'm in need of some.  Turns out I wasn't too sold on it so I went for an all white (with a pop of yellow) flower card!  That coneflower die was just calling my name!  I couldn't ignore it!

I threw on the flag banner as well because it just happened to be sitting beside the stitched rectangle dies.  It also called my name and I felt obligated to cut one out and stick it on!  I had a hard time getting a good photo of the card.  It's been so dark here and the white just didn't show up as nicely as it looks in person!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Gold Foil, Daffodil Delight
Stamps: Honey Bee
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Lovely Layers - Coneflower Honey Cuts (Honey Bee Stamps),  Double Garland Confetti Cut (Reverse Confetti), Sequins (Taylored Expressions)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I do hope you'll check out the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week and join us!  We always love to see what everyone creates!  If you head over to the blog you'll see what the Design Team has come up with to inspire you!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #511

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  How is it Wednesday already?  The weeks are flying by which means Christmas is fast approaching and here I am making birthday cards instead of Christmas cards! Ski season opens here TOMORROW!  Only a few more weeks before I'm in a full body cast!!!  At least that's the joke around here!  Anyhow, the kids have tomorrow and Friday off so we're hoping to enjoy some time in the mountains - maybe!  My youngest had minor surgery on his foot on the weekend so he's still hobbling around.  He might miss out!

We have a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess this week is the hilarious Linda Callahan!  Linda makes fabulous cards!  You need to head over to her blog and check them out!

I have a bunch of cards I need to be making and I'm super far behind!  I should be doing Christmas but I wanted to do a birthday card instead!  I can't resist the bees!  I just love them.  I will probably use them forever!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Basic Black
Stamps: Honey Bee, Biggest Wish
Ink: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight
Other: Detailed Bee Dies, Stitched Frame, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #381

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I trust you're having a great start to your week!  Our kids are on their delayed Spring Break this week so they're home and bored out of their trees!  Ontario is back in lockdown so nothing is open and the weather has been crummy so far.  They had golf games planned all week but so far have only gotten one in!  Hopefully the weather improves and they can get out for some rounds!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is or diecut queen, Cecile Ribon!  Head over to Cecile's blog if you want to see some absolutely stunning cards!

So, as you can imagine, as soon as I saw this I might have had a small panic attack.  So not is there just one circle but 9!  9 circles!  My neighbour has asked me to make a 12th birthday card for her niece so I started with that card!  I noticed the Golden Honey paper from last year's Sale-a-bration sitting on my shelf though and decided that I would use that to make another card and try and tackle my circle aversion!

 Supplies:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Magenta Madness, Pink Sparkle, Gold Foil, Silver Foil
DSP: Golden Honey
Stamps: Honey Bee, Clubhouse
Ink: Basic Black
Other: 1" Circle Punch, Detailed Bee Dies, Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder, Golf Dies, Butterflies Dies (Taylored Expressions), Stampin' Blends, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has crafted to be an inspiration.

We hope you'll join in our challenge this week!

Have an amazing week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #457

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  We are coming off a long Thanksgiving weekend in Canada!  We were able to get out for a few hikes this weekend and the trees were so glorious!  That's one thing I would miss if I didn't live where there were gorgeous maples and oaks.  The colours were amazing!

We have an amazing new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of the talented Linda Callahan!  Linda makes gorgeous cards!  She is super creative and usually has a great story to go with her cards!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

I bet you can't guess it, but I had trouble with this one!  I know, shocking right?!  Story of my life these days.  I just couldn't figure out what to do.  Finally my eyes landed on the Honey Bee DSP from SU.  It's some of my favourite paper ever!  I was pretty sure this would work for my card!

I added a couple of little bees and we were off to the races!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Gold Foil

DSP: Honey Bee Specialty

Stamps: Honey Bee, Celebrate Sunflowers

Ink: Memento Black, Basic Black

Other: Detailed Bees Dies, Tasteful Texture DSP, Stampin Blends, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our floral cutting guru, Narelle Farrugia!  If you want to see what I mean, just head on over to Narelle's blog and check it out!

Narelle's sketch is so versatile but of course I might have stared at it for a while.  I had to really force myself not to use the sunflowers!  Seriously I love those flowers but coming in a close second are the cute little bees!

Stamps: Honey Bee, Itty Bitty Birthdays
Ink: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #436

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week.  Yesterday our schools were officially cancelled for the rest of the year.  I find it really hard to believe.  I am totally okay with it, don't get me wrong.  I just didn't realize before the March break that it would be the end of the year.  I realize now that Caleb (my oldest) won't get his Grade 8 grad.  I still remember my Grade 8 grad like it was yesterday.  Thankfully (and probably because he's a boy) he doesn't really care!  He didn't like the thoughts of having to dress up and walk across the stage!  Oh boys!

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  I have the joy of being the hostess this week!  I wanted to keep the sketch very simple.  I had in my mind that I would use it to make my son's 14th birthday card.  His birthday is tomorrow.  Obviously that didn't happen!  Best of intentions!

You can also probably see that I put my sentiment in the wrong spot!  Actually,  had it in the right spot but the rhino and the sentiment didn't look right so I had to switch them.  My dad's cousin needed some gender neutral baby cards.  I knew white would be the ideal colour.  I haven't done a shaker card in a LONG time so I figured it was about time to crack out the sequins!

I made a second card (actually this was the first card) using the retiring poppy DSP.  I just love that paper.  The Sweetly Stitched Dies might just be my favourite ever and I think they get used on pretty much every card right now!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate
Stamps: Zoo Babies, Sentiment Flags
Ink: Smokey Slate
Other: Sentiment Flags Dies, Stitched Frames, Softly Falling TIEF, Sequins (Taylored Expressions), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out all the amazing cards the the Design Team has created!  They are absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #435

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are having a fabulous week!  We've been having a great week.  It's been crazy cold though.  I mean crazy cold!  We even had snow.  I don't think I remember the last time that it snowed in May!  Man it's been cold.  I've been bringing my poor flowers in every night.  I think we're over the last of it though.  Hopefully!  I think it was warmer in March than it is now!!!

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Kim Singdahlsen.  Kim's cards are gorgeous!  Head on over to her blog to check them out!

Now, I saw those stripes and got a little panicked!  I might have made several renditions of this card.  I tried a Father's Day one and then I tried some other patterned papers and nothing quite worked.  I finally pulled out the bees again.  I couldn't help myself.  I just love the sweet little bees!  Let's just say that even after I decided on the bees I struggled with the paper choice!  Maybe I think to much!  Needless to say, my craft cave is a disaster!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Gold Foil
DSP:  Golden Honey Specialty
Stamps: Honey Bee, Peaceful Moments
Ink: Memento Black
Other: Detailed Bees Dies, Stampin Blends, Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards that the Design Team has created!

Have an amazing week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #431

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week so far!  We've had a few cool, dark days and they're calling for snow today.  Snow!!  We usually get one snow fall in April and since my snow tires are off, it can snow any time!!  That being said, it's not like we're really going anywhere so I guess it doesn't really matter if it snows or not!

We have a fantastic new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is one of our colouring queens, Lee Ann Barrett!  Lee Ann creates the most amazing cards so head on over to her blog and check them out!

I was apparently looking at a different sketch when I made my card.  I don't know why I thought that sentiment banner was so thick!  Oh goodness.  Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing!  I had just made a bunch of never-ending cards using the bee paper from Stampin' Up and it was all still sitting on my craft table so I decided I needed to use it again on this card.  I just love it so much.  Who doesn't love sweet little bees?!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold Foil
DSP: Golden Honey Specialty DSP
Stamps: Honey Bee, Well, Hello (MFT)
Ink: Versamark, Memento Black
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Stampin Blends, Well, Hello dies (MFT)

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the cards the Design Team has created for your inspiration!  We also hope you'll play along with our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #422

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  My kids head back to school today after being off for 4 days.  Our teachers are holding one day strikes and the dates for their board was Monday and Tuesday.  They're at school today and tomorrow and then off Friday for a  PA Day.  They have had a LOT of time off.  Don't get me wrong, I love my boys but they need to go back to school!!!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the incredible Linda Callahan!  Linda's cards are just beautiful and she always has a witty story to make you laugh so head over to her blog to check it out!

So I actually struggled a bit with this giant rectangle!  I had a few ideas in mind that I tried but they didn't really work.  Anyhow, my trusty Honey Bee stamp set was sitting out and I knew it was going to be the answer.  My rectangle became a beehive and some honeycomb!  I just can't get over how much I love the bee paper as well!  It's part of the Sale-a-bration sale so if you haven't taken advantage of that and grabbed some, you need to!!!

Head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will be inspired!

I hope you have an amazing week!

I kinda knew what I wanted to do with Jen's sketch when I saw it.  I love my poppy stamps.  You guys already know that.  I decided I wanted to try out the "bunch" of poppies this time!  I had to try some gold embossed on black and then I wanted to do some where I coloured them!  I decided the plain white background was a little to sparse so I used the pinewood planks embossing folder to add in some texture.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #419

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  Here we are coasting into the end of the week already!  At least I'm looking at it that way!  We're expecting some warmer weather the rest of the week which will be good to help melt the glare ice on my front step.  I may have slipped on it today and went sailing down and onto my driveway.  Miraculously I remained upright the entire time!  Needless to say we need the ice to melt!!!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the lovely Lee Ann Barrett!  Lee Ann's cards are always beautifully coloured!  I'm always amazed by her stunning creations!  You should head over to her blog and check them out!
I can't stop playing with my new poppy stamps and dies!  I absolutely love them and can't wait to use them again.  You will probably see them ALL the time now.  But I'm not really sorry!!  The Peaceful Poppies DSP might also be something I just LOVE!!!  I can't even get over how gorgeous it is!  Put them together and I'm in love!!

CAS(E) This Sketch Poppy

Hello!
Happy Sunday!  Some of you might be shocked seeing a notification that I made another card!  It shocked me too!  I decided to take some time this weekend and work on a card that wasn't for a Design Team!  I also wanted to play with some of the goodies that I received for Christmas and haven't really had a chance to open yet!

I opened the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and just loved it!  I knew exactly how I would play this one out!!!

I love my new Stampin Up poppy stamps and dies and knew they would work perfectly for this card.  I also incorporated my Honey Bee stamps as well!  I also have a thing for black, white and red so I was excited to give this a try!  That poppy though.  I just can't get enough of the poppies!

Supplies
Cardstock: Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Basic Black
Stamps: Painted Poppies, Honey Bee (SU)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Poppy Moments Dies, Peaceful Poppy Sequins, Stitched Rectangles (Lil Inkers), Stitched Banner (no idea where this came from), Dimensionals

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #418

Hello!
Happy Wednesday and welcome to the MIDDLE of January!  Can someone please explain to me how that happened?  Wasn't it just Christmas?!  We've had amazing "winter" weather so far and I'm totally pumped that true winter may only feel like two months instead of 6!  Hopefully it doesn't last much longer than that!!!  I apologize for no card last week.  I totally spaced on that one.  I made my card all excited and went to post it and realized my card didn't look like everyone else's.  I had used the wrong sketch.  Needless too say, I was good and ready for this week!!!

We have a great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess is the amazing Jacquie Southas!  Jacquie's cards are always amazing!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

So I knew I wanted to use the new SU honey bee stamp for this card.  I just love it!  Plus the DSP from the Sale-a-bration catalogue is fantastic!  I just love bees!!

I must say I struggled making this card.  I couldn't get it to be the way I wanted it or the way I thought it would look and it definitely looks better in person than it photographed.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold Foil
DSP: Golden Honey Specialty DSP
Stamps: Honey Bee
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black
Other: Detailed Bees Dies, Gold Embossing Powder, Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, Itty Bitty Banner Dies

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have the chance to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You'll definitely be inspired!

Have an amazing day!
