Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #286

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We are having another wet week.  We have had a ton of rain in the last week or so and the forecast is for more rain!  At least the rivers and creeks will be full to start the summer season (if summer ever decides to arrive!).

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of our master flower maker and fussy cutter, Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle makes the most beautiful cards!  Please head over to her blog to check them out!

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my card during the day today...this will teach me to just take the picture the day I make the card and not wait!!!  I had these poppies sitting on my craft table already coloured!  I decided they needed to be used on this card.  I added some Wink of Stella (of course) and called it a day!  Okay, it didn't come together that easily.  I went through a ton of DSP changes and there is a whole other card that was created before this one!  Sometimes the creative juices just don't flow the way we want them to!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pink (I have no idea what colour pink it is!)
DSP: Pop of Pink
Stamps: Plane and Simple (My Creative Time), LJD Pretty Poppies
Ink: Versamark Black
Other: LJD Pretty Poppies Dies, Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for you!

Have a fabulous day!

I had a little piece of the Moroccan DSP that I decided to use on this card!  It's just so pretty!  I gave colouring the Pretty Poppies set a whirl.  I used my Zig markers and they worked just fine this time!  I think this is the first time I didn't cry while colouring!!!!

Cardstock: Early Espresso, Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla
Stamps: LJD Pretty Poppies (MFT)
Ink: Stazon black

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #248

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're enjoying your week!  I know some of our American readers have kids heading back to school next week!  We are still in summer vacation mode and are enjoying a week long visit at my mom and dad's.  The boys are in Grannie and Papa Heaven!  Hockey, baseball, soccer, basketball oh and don't forget Monopoly!  They are getting their fill of attention and games!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our hostess this week is the incredibly talented Linda Callahan.  Linda makes amazing cards!  She also has a great sense of humour and her blog posts pretty much always make me laugh!

Okay, so I saw the feathers on Linda's sketch and knew I needed to use my Lil Inkers Fancy Feathers set.  I decided to use some white embossing powder on vellum (after a few tries of other colours on other paper didn't work!).  I love black, white and red so I decided that would be my colour combination.  At first I didn't have an embossed background but the card needed something so I used the Softy Falling embossing folder to give the background some texture.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Vellum
Stamps: Fancy Feathers (Lil Inkers), LJD Pretty Poppies (MFT - sentiment)
Ink: Stazon, Versamark
Other: Softly Falling Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Fancy Feathers Dies, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and take a peek at the beautiful cards the Design Team has created!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #226

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you've had a great start to your week!  We are hoping that today is a snow day (since I'm writing this at night I really have not idea what's in store)!  Last night it was snowing like crazy!  The wind was so strong and it was absolutely nasty out.  The boys prayed so hard for a snow day.  I think I'm praying for a school day!!!!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our amazing hostess is our colouring champion Rita Wright!  Grab your coffee and head over to Rita's blog to check out her fabulous cards!

I love how versatile Rita's sketch is!  I also love that she used a butterfly not a circle!  Though you can use whatever shape you want, the butterfly is way less intimidating!   I started with the card at the top.  I wanted to do something other than black and white cards.  I love grey and yellow together and so thought I'd start with that.  the flower was a little more challenging because I had trouble finding who colours that worked.  It ended up being white and silver!

I then made the bottom card and yes, I realize that it's black and white.  I have a customer who wanted several black and white birthday cards.  I'm hoping this one will work.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Basic Black, Silver
DSP: Cherry on Top DSP Stack
Stamps: LJD Pretty Poppies (Top card), And Many More (bottom card)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Falling snow Embossing Folder, Stitched Flag Die (Lil Inkers), Quilted Flower Die (Lil Inkers), Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the design team has created for you!  You will not be disappointed!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #224

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  We are in a bit of a winter wonderland here!  I'm not a big fan of snow (in case you didn't know that!) but the kids are super happy!  They both had a blast at school yesterday.  They love to play in the snow and because we haven't had much this year at all they both took full advantage of it!  They both can't wait to go back to school to get some more snow play in today!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is my dear friend Jen Timko!  Jen is such a creative card maker and has become so talented in the marker department!! I'm totally jealous of her amazing colouring skills!

This week's ColourQ challenge also fits perfectly with this card!  Black, white and red are my colours!

Now, don't you all be shocked but this card was the first try with the sketch! Yup, you read that right.  I didn't change anything!  I am as flabbergasted as you are!!!  At first I wasn't sure what I would do but I do love these poppies from My Favorite Things!  I do think the poppies need a little something in their centres but I didn't want to do something that created a disaster!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Vellum
Stamps: LJD Pretty Poppies (MFT)
Ink: Stazon Black, Real Red
Other: LJD Poppies Die-namics (MFT), Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the design team has created for you!  We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Poppies

Hello!
I don't often get a chance to do a blog post in-between my Freshly Made sketches posts!  I saw the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge today and knew I had to play and new I wanted to use this new set I got from My Favourite Things!

I love poppies!  I don't know why but I do!  They're so pretty!  I don't know if I've ever even seen a real one!!!!  Oh, I've been informed that my mother grows them so I guess I have seen a real one!  Just not a real red one!!!! I wanted to use traditional red.  I love red, black and white together!  I was going to use the die to cut the flowers out but also wanted to keep this card flat!

Supplies;
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: LJD Pretty Poppies (MFT)
Ink: Stazon Black, Real Red, Versamark
Other: White Embossing Powder, Sequins (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
