Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #378

Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We are having spring like weather this week.  It's the weirdest thing.  At this time last year the ground was buried deep in snow.  It seems so strange to have such warm weather already.  I will enjoy our double digits this week and not complain!

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the amazing Karren Johnson!  Karren's cards are fantastic so please head over to her blog to check them out and leave her some love!

I had stopped at our local paper crafting store and picked up some new goodies that I'm rather excited to use!  The first was this moose stamp!  I checked thoroughly for a bear but since there wasn't one, moose it was!  I did need to use the Misti to get it well stamped.  I paired it with some plaid paper and called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill Coverstock White, Mossy Meadow (SU)
Patterned Paper: The Great Outdoors (Mintay Papers)
Stamps: Oakley (Lavinia Stamps), Itty Bitty Birthday (MFT)
Ink: Detail Black (Pink Fresh Studios)
Dies:  Stitched Circles, Itty Bitty Strips (MFT)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll join in our challenge this week!  You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered into this week's challenge.  If you need some inspiration, please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the Design Team's cards that are posted!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have an amazing day!

We have a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the lovely Jennifer Timko!  Jen makes such amazing cards so head over to her blog to be inspired!
I wanted to use some of my new flower dies on this card and then after it was done realized I'm still short a Valentine's Day card but what's done is done!!!  I wanted a card that reminded me a bit of spring since we are in the depths of winter!

Stamps: Delightful Wishes (SU)
Ink: Early Espresso (SU), Tattered Rose Distress Oxide, Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #652

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  It's back to school time here and I feel like I'm ready to get back into the swing of things but I'm not quite ready to let summer go yet!  We had such a short summer here with a late spring snow that I feel like summer went by way too fast and I'm not at all ready for fall or winter to come!  My oldest son started post secondary on Tuesday.  He's living at home this year and it doesn't quite feel as real as it would if he have moved out.  My youngest starts grade 11 today!  I am praying they both have the best year!

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the wonderful Linda Callahan!  Linda's cards are always so sweet so please head over to her blog and check them out!

I wasn't too sure at first what I wanted to do for my card this week.  I need a thank you card but I wasn't inspired.  Then I saw these cute little birds sitting on my desk that I had cut previously and realized I could make them work.  I grabbed some really old SU DSP and went to town!  I love these birds and need to figure out what other colour combinations I can do them in!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill White Coverstock, Real Red, Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie
DSP: SU retired
Ink: Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide (Tim Holtz)
Dies: Perched Birds (Spellbinders), Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers)
Other: Sentiments for Everyday Hot Foil Plate (Spellbinders), Champagne Hot Foil (Spellbinders)

I still have quite a few hiking photos to share with you!  This hike is from earlier in August!  We decided we wanted to squeeze a hike in one day but they were calling for a storm.  We hustled up to the top - the last kilometer was such a grind.  We could see the crazy clouds coming and hear the thunder.  We managed to reach the top just in time but we did get caught in a cloud inversion!  It was so fun!  On the race to then get off the mountain, I fell - it wasn't a bad fall, just a cut and some blood but all is well!  Definitely one of our fastest and most exciting hikes!

You can see the runs our our ski hill in the background!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  We would love to have you!  If you need some inspiration, there are some amazing cards there that our Design Team have posted!

You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to enter this week's challenge!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #637

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope everyone is having a great week so far!  We're coming off of an extra long weekend.  Unfortunately the weather was horrible.  We even drove through a snow storm on Saturday!  No hiking for us!  We did some off-roading which was fun but a little chilly!  We had to wear our winter coats! Some places got hit with snow on Friday and some mountain peaks received upwards of 30 cm of snow!  The start of summer hiking season has been significantly delayed!  That being said, it's also delaying and helping wildfire season so I guess we'll be thankful!

We have got a fun new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Karren Johnson!  Karren is super creative and an amazing colourer (I know, it's not a word!) so make sure you head over to her blog and check out her beautiful creations!

So shockingly (or not), I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with this sketch.  I had just purchased some new dies to make some masculine cards (I feel that these are sometimes hard to find!) and thought I could get a head start on a Father's Day card.  My husband got a smoker for Christmas and he makes some delicious dinners so I thought this card would work perfectly for him.  My dad also is amazing on the BBQ so I might have to create one like this for him as well.  I'm going to actually get to see my dad for Father's day this year (or the day after) so he might get his card and gift in person!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill Coverstock White, Basic Black, Real Red, Silver Foil
Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Summer Lovin' Red Gingham
Stamps: Pond Life (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Detail Black (Pinkfresh Studio)
Dies: King of the Grill (Crafter's Companion), Double Stitched Circles, Tasteful Label Dies (SU)
Other: Subtle Texture Embossing Folder (SU)

Just thought I'd include some pics from our off roading adventure!  We still could see the mountains from where we were so it was almost as good as hiking!  Loved getting out and getting some fresh air!  Super fun new hobby to add to our list!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  We love seeing so many different cards!  We definitely have a creative group of card makers that play along each week.

You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered into this week's challenge!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #556

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a great start to the week!  We've been having the most beautiful weather here!  Last year about this time it was much cooler and we had snow on Thanksgiving weekend.  We've had beautiful sunshine and and warm temperatures and we will totally take it all in!  The warm weather has lengthened our hiking season which is amazing!  We did an incredible one last weekend.  We hiked up Mount Sparrowhawk which was our first 10,000 footer!  It was a grind but oh so amazing!  Check out the view below!

We've got a fantastic sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our colour guru Amy O'Neill!  Amy's cards are always so pretty!  Head over to her blog to check out her creativity!

If I said this was my first rendition of this sketch, I would totally be lying.  Same if I said it was the second or third rendition!  Seriously, this one almost did me in!  Honestly.  Sometimes the mojo just isn't flowing!

I had this bear sitting on my desk and I happen to love a sweet grizzly so I knew I would have to make a card around him!  I had this fall paper still sitting out and decided I wanted to use it up while it was still fall!  Voila!  Card is made!  It's definitely not my favourite but I wanted a more masculine card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Basic White
Paper: Plaid Fever (Echo Park)
Stamps: Little Birthday Notes (MFT)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Woodland Silhouettes 2 (Taylored Expressions), Pine Woods Dies (SU), Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Tasteful Label Dies, Dimensionals

We met a couple of people on the summit - all previously from Ontario who offered to take our picture!  So nice to have a pic that isn't a selfie!

The incredible view from the top!

Sometimes you encounter wild animals!  These are mountain sheep.  They are generally easy going - if they're female but these moms had babies with them.  We kept our distance but the herd was blocking the trail so we had to bang our hiking poles together to get them to move along!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you will head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in this week's challenge!  We always love seeing the amazing cards that get entered in the challenge each week!  We definitely have a creative group that participates!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #555

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  We're halfway through the week already!  We are having some beautiful (and not very Alberta like) fall weather this week!  It's actually been more like summer!  I will take this warmth and sunshine as long as I can!  Trust me!  It's so lovely!

We've got a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our favourite Aussie is hosting this week!  Narelle Farrugia makes the most gorgeous cards!  Fussy cutting, blends and flowers are for sure her specialty so head over to her blog to check them out!

This is not at all the card I had in mind when I saw this sketch!  I still want to make what I had in mind (and probably should have from the start) but I decided to try something else.  This card took me forever with several changes and I'm still not thrilled with it.  Card making is quite the process isn't it?!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Basic Black, Real Red, Poppy Parade, Basic Grey, Garden Green
Stamps: Bitty Buzzwords (Honey Bee Stamps)
Ink: Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Real Red, Garden Green
Other: Bitty Buzzwords Honey Cuts (Honey Bee Stamps), Lovely Layers Wildflowers (Honey Bee Stamps), Double Stitched Circle Dies (Lil Inkers), Stitched So Sweetly Dies (SU), Sequins (Taylored Expressions)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll join in our challenge this week.  We always love to see what you come up with!

Head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the cards that the Design Team has posted!  Hopefully they'll inspire you!

I thought I'd share our most recent hike - We hiked up Cirque Peak just past Lake Louise (around Bow Lake).  It started out raining, changed to sun, then a freak snow storm while we hit the summit so we couldn't see anything and then an hour later, beautiful sunshine again!  You win some and you lose some!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #546

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a great week so far!  We were on vacation last week.  We went away overnight but the rest of the time we just took some fun day trips!  My husband and I decided to tackle a big hike called Tent Ridge.  It was pretty crazy.  The view was absolutely amazing but there were a few sections that had me questioning why I was even doing this!!!  It was totally worth it in the end!!!

We've got a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the Texan in our crew - Amy O'Neill!  Amy's cards are always beautiful and she's so creative!  Head over to her blog to check out her creations!  Amy's sketch almost did me in with all of those huge circles but I had just picked up my Lovely Layers Peony Honey Cuts and figured that the giant peony would work perfectly in the middle!

There are a LOT of layers in this peony!  I'm actually not even sure if I can put it in the mail!!!  It is worth it though.  I just love it!  My friend recently lost her husband and I want to have a stockpile of cards to be able to send her over the coming weeks and months.

Supplies
Cardstock: Rose Red, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride, Garden Green, Basic White
Stamps: With Sympathy (Honey Bee Stamps)
Ink: Versafine Black, Rose Red, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride
Other: Lovely Layers Peony Honey Cuts (Honey Bee Stamps), Double Stitched Circle Dies (Lil Inkers),  Ballet Slipper Confetti Mix, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  There are some great examples from the Design Team there to get you inspired!

We always love seeing the different cards that get entered in the challenge so we hope you'll join us!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #483

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  I totally spaced on my blog post again.  Having the kids home again for online school means someone always has my laptop!  It's taking a bit to get used to having everyone home and changing my schedule.  I used to do blog posts during the day but have to do them in the evening when my laptop isn't in such high demand!  By the time I get the hang of it, it will be summer break!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess is the amazing Narelle Farrugia.  Narelle's cards are always divine.  Her layers, her fussy cutting and those flowers!  They always make my heart skip a beat!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

I wanted to channel my inner Narelle for this card.  I grabbed some flowers and coloured away.  Threw on some layers and I was off to the races.  I regretted not throwing on some gold thread though.  I actually made a second card that was almost the same and put thread on, totally made all the difference!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Whisper White

Stamps: Forever and Always, Pansy Patch, French Foliage

Ink: Basic Black, Memento Black

Other: Pierced Blooms Dies, Double Stitched Circle Dies, Clear Drops, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the challenge for the week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #314

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope everyone has had a great start to their week!  I hope my American friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!  Christmas isn't that far away!  Are you ready? I am definitely not ready. The kids are bugging me to put the tree up but we have to put our tree up in stages.  See, last year our kitten was just over 3 lbs.  The tree was her favourite hiding spot.  She could climb that sucker lightening fast.  This year she's about 7 lbs.  We're not sure our tree can handle the 7 lbs so we'll have to put it up without decorations to see what she does.  I'll have to get my squirt bottle ready just in case she decides to go for a climb.  Which she will...because she's a cat!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle is our fussy cutting, flower making queen!  Her cards are multi-layered masterpieces!  Head over to her blog to see what I mean!

Narelle also decided to throw some circles in there!  I'm wondering if my friends from the Southern Hemisphere got together and decided to torture me together!!!  Needless to say I decided to stick true to the sketch on this one.   I am still lacking in Christmas cards so I used some of the Quilted Christmas DSP from SU along with some red and black cardstock and threw this baby together!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black and Red Foil
Paper: Quilted Christmas DSP
Other: Silly Stitched Dies (Lil Inkers),  Double Stitched Circle Dies (Lil Inkers), Christmas Greetings Thinlits (SU), Red Sequins, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  They truly are beautiful!

Have a fabulous day and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #292

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far.  It's been a great week so far here.  The summer weather seems to have finally arrived and I am loving that warm sunshine.  Everything is so green and lush looking.  We went for a bike ride the other night in the bush and we stopped for a minute to look at a deer and I got eaten alive by mosquitos and black flies.  Wow!  They were crazy hungry!  One part of summer I do not enjoy!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our favourite DT member from France, Cecile Ribon!

Now, when you look at this sketch and see a LOT of circles like I did, don't freak out.  They're really not that bad.  I kinda just decided I would make this card as close to the sketch as I could!  I opted to try and make a more masculine card since I'm really short on some cards for men.  I figured black and silver would work and threw in some Bermuda Bay for accent.  Okay, so there are sequins on it.  I couldn't help myself.  It just needed something!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Silver
Stamps: Sweet Celebration (Lil Inkers)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Silly Stitched Dies (Lil' Inkers), Celebrate Die (Lil' Inkers), Sequins, Double Stitched Circle Dies (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by this week!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created!  You won't be disappointed!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #290

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We've had a great start to our week!  We were able to spend this past weekend with my parents.  I was able to get the last 3 camp projects cut and ready to go!  I have never been ready a month before camp starts!  Woohoo!!

We have a fantastic new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim makes the most beautiful cards!  I always love seeing what she comes up with each and every time she makes a card!

Kim's sketch is super fun!  I had some of the Tasty Treats Specialty DSP sitting on my craft table and decided to use it.  I'm still very sad that the botanical builders and Watermelon Wonder are retiring but I don't think that will stop me from using them!!!  Of course there is some Wink of Stella on the flower!  I don't think I can do a card without it!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Basic Black
DSP: Tasty Treats Specialty DSP
Stamps: LJD Birthday Greetings (MFT)
Ink: Versamark Black
Other: Botanical Builders Framelits Dies, Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Wink of Stella, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the fabulous cards the Design Team has created!   You won't be disappointed!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #288

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  We are expecting a gorgeous day here today!  The first truly HOT day of the spring so far!  The kids are pumped about wearing shorts!  This has been a long time coming.  Both my kids are down to their last pair of pants without ripped knees!  Oh the joys of boys!!!  My oldest turns 11 this coming weekend and still wears the knees right out of his pants.  Actually, yesterday, his grey jogging pants came home slightly green.  Complete all over grass stains.  I just shake my head!

Well, today we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the fabulous Jen Mitchell!  Jen's cards are always gorgeous and she can turn simple into a beautiful masterpiece!  Head over to her blog to be wowed!

Jen has a great sketch for us!  I kinda know right away what I wanted to do with this one!  This is my mother's Mother's Day card!  I just love the gold polka dot paper out of the Pop of Pink DSP pack.  I mean, those gold dots are just gorgeous!  I combined that with this fabulous set from Reverse Confetti and voila!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Gold
DSP: Pop of Pink
Stamps: You're So (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), You're So Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Scalloped Circle Dies (Spellbinders), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards that the Design Team has created for your inspiration!  We hope you'll play along this week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #285

Happy Wednesday!  We are currently sitting in the middle of the last full week in April!  How did that happen?  I feel like it was just the beginning of March and we are cruising into May and closer to my son's 11th birthday.   Mom needs to get working on this.  Turning 11 is a big deal and since this is his first year without a party, I need to change my course of planning and figure out something really fun to do as a family to celebrate!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of one of our resident Texans!  On a side note - I would love to visit Texas sometime.  I just think it's just one of those places I need to see!  I imagine there are cacti and cowboy hats everywhere.  I'm pretty sure that's not the case though!  Anyhow, Amy O'Neill is our amazing hostess this week.  She is our super creative, colour whiz.  I always am awed by the cool designs and combinations she comes up with!

Amy's sketch threw me for a bit of a loop.  I originally had one design in mind but realized quickly that wouldn't work so moved onto Plan B.  Now, Plan B saw a few renditions but I settled on this very gold accented one!  I happened to have this one sheet of DSP from the Pop of Pink pack and I had to use it!  I think this card will work nicely to celebrate my in laws upcoming wedding anniversary!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold Foil
DSP: Pop of Pink
Stamps: Sweet Celebrations (Lil Inkers)
Ink: Black
Other: Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Celebrate Word Die (Lil Inkers), Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll pop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you!  You will be inspired!

Have a fabulous day!

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  Can you believe that it's almost the end of January?!  Where does time go?  I need to start getting ready for Valentine's Day! I don't necessarily go all out but there are a few cards that need to be finished!  It will be here before we know it!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Our hostess this week is the lovely Cecile Ribon!  Cecile is the queen of "elements"!  She always has the loveliest die cuts or sequins or whatever else on her cards!  I love them!  Check out her blog and you'll see exactly what I mean!

Now, I can imagine that you saw this sketch and laughed thinking "oh Jen, is going to love that"!  Shockingly no one on the Design Team commented on all the circles!!!  To my surprise, I knew right away what I wanted to do.  I love the circle dies from Lil Inkers and couldn't wait to get those out and some of my favourite colours of cardstock.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black
Stamps: Birthday Greetings (MFT)
Ink: Stazon
Other: Pierced Rectangle Frames (MFT), Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Stitched Flags (MFT), Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

CAS(E) This Sketch Bright White!

Hello!
Happy Monday!  It's Family Day here in Ontario!  I must say I do love Monday's that are holidays!  We had a church skate this afternoon with our Harvest Bible Chapel family!  It is so fun to get together with so many people!  The kids had a blast!

I had a few minutes yesterday to play in my craft room.  Since it's been cleaned I've been trying really hard to keep it clean and to make sure I put stuff away when I'm done.  My craft room has always been the one room in the house that I never cared how it looked.  Now that it's clean I don't know if I can go back to the way it was!

I saw the sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch! and know I had to try a card.  Now, my sentiment isn't exactly in the right spot but it would have looked really funny at the bottom of my card!

I wanted to use my new Sunburst Thinlit from Stampin' Up!  I love sun bursts and when I saw this sketch I knew I wanted to try and incorporate this die!  I used the coordinating Sunburst Sayings stamp set as well!  I threw on some sequins and called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Silver
Stamps: Sunburst Sayings
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Double Stitched Circles (Lil' Inkers), Sunburst Thinlits, Silver Sequins, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #223

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm sorry I haven't has as many new cards posted lately.  It's been a busy week.  Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get back into the craft room!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our fabulous hostess in the one and only Amy O'Neill.  Amy designs such amazing cards and I love her colour combinations and creative designs!

So, shockingly, the first thing I tried with this card didn't work out!  I wanted to make this into a Valentine's Day card.  I tired a few different things but nothing worked out.  I found my Awesome Blossom Stamps from Lil' Inkers and knew that I would love to ink them up!  Of course then I ran into a sentiment issue but finally decided to use the Sentiments Flag Original Stamps!  Because of the way I made my flower ring, I couldn't put my sentiment across the bottom of the circle like in the sketch.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Silver
Stamps: Awesome Blossom, Sentiments Flag Original
Ink: Cucumber Crush, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Perfect Plum, Pool party, Island Indigo, Watermelon Wonder, So Saffron, Stazon Black
Other: Double Stitched Circles (Lil' Inkers), Stitched Flag (Lil' Inkers), Circle Banners Dies (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for you!

We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have a great day!

Nutty Acorns

Hello!
I hope you've had a great Wednesday!  Hump day!  We are halfway through another week!  Today was cleaning day here.  Not my favourite day but I do love a clean house!  I had a few minutes this afternoon and I decided that I would tackle another card!  I know this season of having extra free time doesn't last long so I want to take advantage of it while I can!

I decided to start with the colours from this week's ColourQ challenge.  I do love the colours this week.  I didn't have Kiwi Kiss or Soft Sky so I used Pool Party and Lucky Limeade as a substitute.  I was fairly certain that I had Kiwi Kiss somewhere but I couldn't find it!

I went on and decided I would try my hand with the sketch from this week's Global Design Project!  Now, I'm sure you guys all know me pretty well and know that when I took one look at that circle I cringed!  Why do I hate circles so much?!  I think I'd cringe no matter what shape it had been!
I decided to use my Acorny Thank You stamp set for this one!  I need to make an anniversary card for my husband!  Our anniversary is coming up next month and I usually leave the card until the very last minute!  I LOVE acorns.  Not sure why.  My son and my mom had this little thing about collecting acorns years ago and now every time I see an acorn I smile!
I decided a plain background wasn't going to work for this card so I used the Woodlands Textured Embossing Folder to create the background.  I glued all the pieces together and then ran it through the big shot to emboss it.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, Pool Party
Stamps: Acorny Thank You
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Other: Woodland Textured Embossing Folder, Acorn Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Heart Punch,  Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!
