Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #657

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We're having a beautiful fall week!  I actually don't want it to end!  The sun has been warm and the skies blue.  I know the white, fluffy stuff is just around the corner so I'm going to embrace this weather while I can!  Fall hiking season is almost over and it makes me a little sad.  I'm sure we've got a few more weeks to go but we will need to start packing our winter gear!

We've got a brand new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the amazing Karren Johnson!  You will love Karren's cards so head over to her blog to check them out!

This card actually came together quite quickly - I know, I was shocked too!  I had a pack of fall paper that I think I got last year and hadn't opened at all.  I love fall paper and fall cards and since I needed an anniversary card for my husband (22 years on Saturday) I figured this would work perfectly.  I diecut some oak leaves from the Spellbinders Autumn Wonder set and we were ready to go!  I have no idea what set the tag is from.  It was in my storage binder and back then I wasn't too concerned with writing down the names of things.  Now I have no clue where things came from!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Baked Brown Sugar, Hammermill White Coverstock
Patterned Paper: Simple Stories Acorn Lane
Ink: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo (Tim Holtz Distress Oxides)
Dies: Autumn Wonder (Spellbinders), Tag
Other: Curved Everyday Sentiments (Spellbinders), Copper Foil, Twine, Rhinestones (Honeybee Stamps)

I thought I'd share some photos from a recent hiking adventure!  For this one I traded in my regular hiking partner for my friend Annie!  Annie's husband serves in our military and he's on a training exercise so she's been joining us or her and I hike together!  We had a hoot!  This is the Skoki area - behind the Lake Louise ski hill.  It was so beautiful!  The larches were robed in their golden splendor and looked amazing!  There were so many lakes and it was so fun to explore!  We put on 26 km and 1000 m in elevation gain!  It was one of the most amazing days!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week.  We always love to see what you create!  If you need some inspiration, head over to the blog!  The design team has come up with some incredible examples!  You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered in this week's challenge!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #624

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Here were are again at another Wednesday!  We've had a beautiful week and it looks like the next week or so will be nice as well!  That being said, we've had so little snow this year.  Everything is dry and I heard (this cannot be confirmed) that the wildfires are already smouldering north of Jasper (Alberta).  As much as I don't really like getting a dumping of snow, we need precipitation desperately.  Maybe it will be a wet spring but I won't hold my breath.

We've got a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Our hostess is my fellow Rocky Mountain dweller (but in the Colorado area) Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim's cards are always so sweet so make sure to head over to her blog to check them out!

I hadn't played with my Be Bold Blooms in a while so I decided to use them for this card.  I really do love these blooms so you might seem them for a while now!  I debated between making this a Mother's Day card or an Anniversary card and Anniversary won!  The Mother's Day sentiment just didn't look right!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill White Coverstock, Daffodil Delight (SU), Gold Foil (SU)
DSP: Gingham 6X6 (SU retired)
Ink: Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber (Distress Oxides)
Other: Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder, Be Bold Blooms (Spellbinders), Sentiments for Everyday (Spellbinders), Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders), Gold Foil (Spellbinders), Gilded Gems (SU).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge! If you need some inspiration you will definitely find it there!

You have until Monday at 3 PM EST to join in our challenge!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #621

Hello and happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a great week!  We are still experiencing the joys of a chinook!  It's been above freezing and sunny most days so we are basking in the warmth and getting out as much as possible.  I can't believe how nice it's been.  I've heard that some places haven't seen the sun in weeks.  I do not miss that part of living in Ontario.  I remember you could go week and weeks and it would be gloomy and damp.

Since it's Wednesday, we've got a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our favourite pilot, Jennifer Timko!  Jen makes the most amazing cards and does a ton of the behind the scenes work on our little blog.  She is truly amazing!  Head over to her blog and check out her beautiful cards!

So as always, this wasn't what I had in mind.  I really wanted to make a Valentine's Day card but could not for the life of me come up with a design.  I think my creativity has been lacking a bit more since I've been working but I have been enjoying the time I have had in my craft cave!

I had this Lovely Layers Mum sitting on my desk and realized it would work perfectly as the centre point of this card.  I cut out and inked up some leaves and called it a day.  I also had the gold rimmed circles on my desk so there wasn't a lot required to complete this card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Hammermill White Cover Stock, Daffodil Delight
Ink: Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Rustic Wilderness (All Distress Oxides)
Other: Lovely Layers Mums (Honey Bee Stamps), Nested Circles (Pink Fresh Studios), Hardwood Embossing Folder (SU), Mini Everyday Sentiments (Spellbinders), Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders), Gold Foil (Spellbinders)

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  We always love seeing the cards that you post!  If you need some inspiration, you'll definitely find it on the blog!

I hope you have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #582

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far.  Our snow has finally melted but we're supposed to get some more tomorrow and a little bit on Thursday.  It's supposed to warm up after that and I don't think the snow will last but still, who wants snow in April?!  There is still a ton of snow in the mountains!  Check out our most recent hike pics at the end of the post.  Still tons of snow.

We've got a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the fabulous Karren Johnson!  Karren's cards are always stunning so head over to her blog to check them out!

I feel like I should apologize for the Be Bold Blooms again.  I love them so much!  They are so fun to work with and they work for so many different occasions!  This one is for an upcoming anniversary that I need a card for!  I think the pink flowers might be my favourite combination.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Petal Pink, Watermelon Wonder, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, Basic White
Ink: Watermelon Wonder
Other: Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder (SU), Nested Circles (Pink Fresh), Sentiments for Everyday (Spellbinders), Be Bold Blooms (Spellbinders), Silver Foil (Spellbinders)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week!  We always love seeing all of the beautiful cards that show up in the gallery each week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #507

Hello and happy Wednesday!

Oh it's been one of those weeks and I totally didn't realize that yesterday was Tuesday and I should be getting a blog post ready.  We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday so we had a holiday which meant that yesterday really felt like Monday instead of Tuesday.  Holiday Mondays always leave me confused for the rest of the week!!!  I think I'm back on track now though.

We have a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Our hostess is the amazing Judy Rozema!  Judy creates the most fabulous cards!  You definitely need to head over to her blog to check them out!

Thankfully another week and another card that I came together more easily than normal!  I needed an anniversary card for my husband!  We celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary yesterday and were able to actually go to a restaurant to celebrate (another reason why I didn't get the blog post done!!!)! Anyhow, because we got married in the fall my husband will forever get fall themed anniversary cards!  Lucky him!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Bumblebee, Cajun Craze, Gold Foil
DSP: In Good Taste
Stamp: Forever and Always
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Intricate Leaves Dies, Always Dies, Double Stitched Circles, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the cards that have been created for your inspiration! We do hope you'll join in our challenge this week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #470

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We were covered in a blanket of snow yesterday.  Nothing major but the first big snowfall of the year (and it's not a huge one).  I have a love-hate relationship with snow.  I can definitely live without it but the ground feels so damp when we don't have it.  We're supposed to have some cold weather for the next couple of days so it will stick around!  The kids will be happy!

We have a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  I have the honour of being this week's hostess!  I kept the sketch super simple but sometimes the simpler the sketch the harder it is to create a card!  At least it is for me!!!

I just love the Forever and Always stamp set and dies.  I have so much fun using them and those flower are beautiful!  I definitely need to work on my colouring but I'm a work in progress!  I added a little Wink of Stella to the centre of the flowers but you can't really see it in these pictures!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: In Good Taste
Stamps: Forever and Always
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Always Dies, Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder, Stampin Blends, Wink of Stella, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards that the Design Team members have created!  You will definitely be inspired!  I can't wait to see what you come up with and I do hope you'll enter our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #407

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  We had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend!  I love turkey and thoroughly enjoyed stuffing myself full of that juicy goodness!!  We had an extra long weekend since the kids and Trevor were off on Friday.  It was perfect! Nice and relaxing and we had amazing weather!  The fall leaves look so pretty when the sun shines on them!  I wish they could last forever!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the super creative Lee Ann Barrett!  Lee Ann makes such lovely cards.  You need to head over to her blog to check them out!!

Okay so this card didn't quite come together as quickly as I had wanted it to and this of course isn't the first card I made but that's okay!  I needed an anniversary card for my husband.  We celebrated our 17th anniversary on Saturday!  I can't believe it's been 17 years.  I'm not sure who deserves the medal more!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Red Foil
Stamps: Essential Sentiments (MFT),  So You
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Heart to Heart Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will definitely feel inspired!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #360

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  Can you believe next week is Halloween?  How on earth did October go whizzing by so quickly?  I think I blinked and it was gone.  I don't want to say it but I kinda think that Christmas is going to be here in no time!  That is one scary thought!!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Amy O'Neill!  Amy is our colour matching and accents queen!  She designs the most beautiful cards!  Head over to her blog to check out how amazing they are!

I kinda feel the same way about ovals as I do about circles!  They aren't exactly my favourite thing.  I really took liberties on this sketch!  I hope the team doesn't mind!  This card was an anniversary card for my husband and I had to make the lemons and stems work!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black
Stamps: Lemon Zest
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black
Other: Glitter Enamel Dots, Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You'll be inspired!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #341

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We're having a good week!  The kids have been enjoying their evenings in the pool and I've been trying to get some videos done for my "other" business while they're swimming away!  They've cooperated nicely!  I think we're pretty much done with school around here.  It's so hard to get motivated to do homework when it's so gorgeous outside and the boys just want to be in the pool or playing some basketball!  2.5 weeks left to go!!

We have a fantastic new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing fussy cutter and flower stamper extraordinary Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle's cards are always gorgeous so head over to her blog to check them out!

I had a specific card in mind when I made this and I know I wanted to use the Botanical Builders Framelits!  I am so sad they retired but they're forever get use at my house!!!  I went with white and black, well, because I love it far too much!  I wanted to keep this clean and elegant!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Other: Botanical Builders Framelits Dies, Sweet Celebrations Dies (Lil Inkers), Celebrate Word Die (Lil Inkers), Black Rhinestones (SU), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will definitely be inspired!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #309

Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already!  I hope you’ve had a great start to your week. I’m still without a laptop and working off my iPad which is a little frustrating my old laptop is not fixable and we had to bite the bullet and get a new one. Technology.  Can’t live with it, can’t live without it!!

We have a great new sketch this week courtesy of Linda Callahan! Linda makes such beautiful cards and she has such a fabulous sense of humour.  I seriously think she should write a book!

I needed to make an anniversary card for my husband as we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary last week.  I try and keep the cards themed like our wedding was, hence the leaves, the cherry cobbler and the gold!   I was pretty liberal with the sketch. I opted to pretend I didn’t see those evil circles and saw leaves instead!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Gold
DSP: Painted Leaves
Stamps: I can’t remember....
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Large Number Framelits,

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you’ll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards that the Design Tean has created for your inspiration!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #285

Happy Wednesday!  We are currently sitting in the middle of the last full week in April!  How did that happen?  I feel like it was just the beginning of March and we are cruising into May and closer to my son's 11th birthday.   Mom needs to get working on this.  Turning 11 is a big deal and since this is his first year without a party, I need to change my course of planning and figure out something really fun to do as a family to celebrate!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of one of our resident Texans!  On a side note - I would love to visit Texas sometime.  I just think it's just one of those places I need to see!  I imagine there are cacti and cowboy hats everywhere.  I'm pretty sure that's not the case though!  Anyhow, Amy O'Neill is our amazing hostess this week.  She is our super creative, colour whiz.  I always am awed by the cool designs and combinations she comes up with!

Amy's sketch threw me for a bit of a loop.  I originally had one design in mind but realized quickly that wouldn't work so moved onto Plan B.  Now, Plan B saw a few renditions but I settled on this very gold accented one!  I happened to have this one sheet of DSP from the Pop of Pink pack and I had to use it!  I think this card will work nicely to celebrate my in laws upcoming wedding anniversary!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gold Foil
DSP: Pop of Pink
Stamps: Sweet Celebrations (Lil Inkers)
Ink: Black
Other: Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, Celebrate Word Die (Lil Inkers), Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll pop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you!  You will be inspired!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #258

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada this past weekend.  We are still enjoying some delicious turkey!  Tomorrow will be Turkey soup!  I can't wait!!!  Today however is a very special day at our house.  My husband and I are celebrating our 14th anniversary!  It's funny how that happened because I'm pretty sure I'm just 25 which means I must have gotten married awfully young!!!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our colouring Queen, Rita Wright!  Head over to Rita's blog and see the magic she works with ink and markers!
I knew I needed to make an anniversary card with this sketch.  Our wedding colours were raspberry and gold and I wanted to tie that in.  I originally wanted to put a maple leaf on but the leaf I had was far too big.  I opted for an oak leaf because we refer to my husband as an oak tree and my youngest son as an acorn!  I figure this card truly reflects our family!  As I look at this picture here, I realize that both acorns were stamped on Whisper White instead of Very Vanilla!  Oops!  Hope my husband doesn't notice!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Gold Glimmer
Stamps: Acorny Thank You, Autumn Acorn Stamps (PTI)
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Other: Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Acorn Punch, Acorn Die (PTI), Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the design team has created for you!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #235

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  The trees are starting to get their leaves and the tulips and daffodils are finally blooming.  It seems so late this year!  My hostas are poking out of the ground and I bought Jacob a cherry tomato plant for the deck.  It's his plant to take care of.  We'll see how long it lasts. He loves tomatoes so hopefully he manages to take care of it well so he can enjoy the "fruits" of his labour!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today!  Our talented hostess is the amazing Jen Mitchell!  Jen creates the most beautiful cards!  I love her style and her clean lines!  She has a great sketch of us this week and it is a super fun one to work with.

I needed an anniversary card for my in laws and once I saw the sketch and knew I needed an anniversary card, I decided to ink up my Pleasant Poppies!  I love that stamp set!  It makes me smile!!!

I used some white embossing powder and despite my best efforts it still got everywhere!  I decided to use some silver embossing powder on the "Celebrate".  It worked quiet well actually.  I managed to successfully emboss it without burning my fingers!!!  That's always a plus!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies
Ink: Versamark
Other: Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Silver Embossing Powder, White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll take the time to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the team has created for your inspiration!

Have a fabulous day!

Nutty Acorns

Hello!
I hope you've had a great Wednesday!  Hump day!  We are halfway through another week!  Today was cleaning day here.  Not my favourite day but I do love a clean house!  I had a few minutes this afternoon and I decided that I would tackle another card!  I know this season of having extra free time doesn't last long so I want to take advantage of it while I can!

I decided to start with the colours from this week's ColourQ challenge.  I do love the colours this week.  I didn't have Kiwi Kiss or Soft Sky so I used Pool Party and Lucky Limeade as a substitute.  I was fairly certain that I had Kiwi Kiss somewhere but I couldn't find it!

I went on and decided I would try my hand with the sketch from this week's Global Design Project!  Now, I'm sure you guys all know me pretty well and know that when I took one look at that circle I cringed!  Why do I hate circles so much?!  I think I'd cringe no matter what shape it had been!
I decided to use my Acorny Thank You stamp set for this one!  I need to make an anniversary card for my husband!  Our anniversary is coming up next month and I usually leave the card until the very last minute!  I LOVE acorns.  Not sure why.  My son and my mom had this little thing about collecting acorns years ago and now every time I see an acorn I smile!
I decided a plain background wasn't going to work for this card so I used the Woodlands Textured Embossing Folder to create the background.  I glued all the pieces together and then ran it through the big shot to emboss it.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, Pool Party
Stamps: Acorny Thank You
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Other: Woodland Textured Embossing Folder, Acorn Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Heart Punch,  Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #190

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you've had a great start to your week!  I spent most of my day yesterday doing some cutting for our church camp this summer.  One of the projects we are making requires 225 envelopes.  I got those cut yesterday but the scoring and punching may take a while!  I think I need to pick easier projects!

Being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Amy O'Neill.  Amy has the most amazing eye for colour and comes up with the best colour combinations!  Check out her blog and all of her creative cards!

I must admit that this sketch may have given me a slight challenge!  I need an anniversary card this week.  You see my mom and dad are celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary next week and I wanted to make them a card that needed to get in the mail yesterday!  That oval threw me for a loop though!  I also realized in the creating of this card that I only one one stamp that says "Happy Anniversary".  I could have used "welcome baby" and my mom and dad probably would have gotten a big chuckle out of it but I decided to go with "Happiness Always" instead!

I used the flower from Secret Garden and coloured it using Blendabilities.  The flower started out as a Rich Razzleberry flower but ended up being Daffodil Delight!  I tell you, sometimes cards come together easy and sometimes they take a LONG time!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Brights Paper Stack (Retired)
Stamps: Secret Garden, And Many More
Ink: Stazon Black, Moss Meadow
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Oval Spellbinders, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Secret Garden Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for your viewing pleasure!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #107

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm so sorry I've been neglecting my readers!  It's just been one of those weeks.  Volunteering at the school has started in full force so a lot of my free time is taken up with that - BUT I do get to see my boys more often!!!!

We have a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Jennifer Timko is our incredibly talented hostess this week!  I love her sketch (and I love the cards the Design Team has come up with!).

I needed an anniversary card for my dear husband since this coming Saturday is our 11th wedding anniversary!  Were on earth have 11 years gone?  I shamefully admit though that I tried my wedding dress on a few weeks ago and is didn't fit.  So sad...oh well.  I guess I didn't really plan on wearing it again anyhow!!!!

You may wonder what's up with the gold pumpkin but we used gold pumpkins as centrepieces at our wedding.  They were so pretty.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Wonderfall, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Some Halloween Set that I can't remember.....
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark
Other: Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Heart to Heart Punch, Autumn Accents Die, Bitty Banners Framelites Die, Clear Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

CAS(E) This Sketch Wedding!

Hello!
Hope you're having a good start to your week!  It was a beautiful day here in Burlington today!  I was able to get a few cards made this past weekend.  I really am mourning the end of our youngest's nap time...that was my card making time.  I don't know what I'll do come summer when both boys are home!!!

I do love the CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge.  I can't wait to check their blog each week to see what the newest sketch is!  I must say I gave this one a few tries before I decided on a card...sad sometimes!!!

I decided to go with a wedding card....I guess it could also be an anniversary card!  I saw a piece of that fabulous textured DSP (who's name escapes me) sticking out of my scraps bin and just wanted to use it!  Throw on a few rosettes and we were good to go!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP: SU...but can't remember...
Stamps: Petite Pairs
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Rosettes, Basic Pearls

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back again tomorrow!!!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #84

Hello!
It's Wednesday again!  How did that happen?  We were at Caleb's Awana awards night at our church tonight.  Caleb was so fired up!  He loves his ribbons and we are so proud of his hard work!

Today brings us another new and fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  The fabulous  Linda S brings us a great sketch this week.  This sketch stumped me.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do then I remembered that I needed a card for my In Laws anniversary.  After I got the card made I remembered that it was their 40th!  Not a typical 40th anniversary card but I think my Mother In Law would much rather have black and silver than ruby!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
DSP: Neutrals DSP Paper Stack (Black polka dots)
Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Basic Rhinestones, Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Timeless Type Dies

Here's a picture of Caleb (the one with the award in the air!) and his friend Jackson (the little boy with his arm in the air beside Caleb) received their awards!  Super cute!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you!

Have a great day!

Happy Anniversary!

Hello!
It's officially Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada!  I love Thanksgiving!  I cooked turnips, cranberries and pumpkin pie today!  Turkey day tomorrow!!!  I can't wait!  Fall is my favourite of the seasons!  I grew up in Eastern Ontario where the trees are so beautiful at this time of year!  It's also the time of year that my husband and I got married...10 years ago!  A week today (Friday) is our 10th anniversary!  I can't believe it.  10 years have flown by!  We have so much to be thankful for this weekend!

I needed to make a card for my husband to commemorate this special day but I find anniversary cards challenging to make!  I decided to start with the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary and combine it with the SU-Only Challenge this week (Feel that Texture) and ta-da!

I decided to use the woodgrain embossing folder since I thought it would work best for this particular card!  I also embossed the hearts in the same woodgrain embossing folder!  I used the Early Espresso and the Cherry Cobbler Core-dinations cardstock so that I could sand it!!!

Our wedding colours were cranberry and gold and I figured this card kinda matched that!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso Core'dinations, Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
DSP: Orchard Harvest, Early Espresso
Stamps: Perfectly Penned, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Heart Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Bitty Banners Framelit, Sanding Block, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Best Wishes Triple Time

Hello!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I can't believe it's Monday...I trust everyone had a good Father's Day.  My husband took the boys swimming and they all had a blast.  Sometimes they are little fish.  They all came home very tired - included daddy!

Today's card is a "case" from one Dawn Olshefske had on her blog this weekend.  You can find the link, video and instructions for Triple Time Stamping here.  Dawn used different colours and stamps but the basic design is the same!

I needed an anniversary card for my aunt and uncle who are celebrating their 45th anniversary!   I can't even imagine being married 45 years!  I have recently fallen in love with Perfect Plum...not sure why I didn't love it before!  I think the card would have looked better in black and ivory...I'm so critical aren't I?!

I need to get some weekly meal planning and some FMS blog comments done so this post will be short tonight!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
