Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #107
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I'm so sorry I've been neglecting my readers! It's just been one of those weeks. Volunteering at the school has started in full force so a lot of my free time is taken up with that - BUT I do get to see my boys more often!!!!
We have a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Jennifer Timko is our incredibly talented hostess this week! I love her sketch (and I love the cards the Design Team has come up with!).
I needed an anniversary card for my dear husband since this coming Saturday is our 11th wedding anniversary! Were on earth have 11 years gone? I shamefully admit though that I tried my wedding dress on a few weeks ago and is didn't fit. So sad...oh well. I guess I didn't really plan on wearing it again anyhow!!!!
You may wonder what's up with the gold pumpkin but we used gold pumpkins as centrepieces at our wedding. They were so pretty.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Wonderfall, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Some Halloween Set that I can't remember.....
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark
Other: Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Heart to Heart Punch, Autumn Accents Die, Bitty Banners Framelites Die, Clear Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a fabulous day! Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog to check out the Design Team creations! We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

CAS(E) This Sketch Autumn
Hello!
We are coasting into Friday! I'm so excited. I am looking forward to the weekend! The boys were pretty tired tonight. I think they are also looking forward to being able to sleep in on Saturday! Let's just hope they do!!
I had a few minutes today to get some cards done! I was super excited! I will take advantage of these days before the volunteering at the school starts! CAS(E) This Sketch posted a great new sketch today. I couldn't wait to play along. I have really fallen in love with the simple cards! Though they usually take me the longest to make!
Wonderfall is one of my favourite stamp sets. I also love the Autumn Accents die! Saves me cutting out those leaves!!!!
The ink looks dark on the leaf in this picture but it's really just versamark and clear embossing powder!!!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze
Stamps: Wonderfall, Truly Grateful
Ink: Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Versamark
Other: Natural twine, Autumn Accents, Dimensionals, Distressing tool
Thanks for stopping by! I have created another card for this challenge (can you tell I loved the sketch?!) so I'll have that for you tomorrow!!
Have a great day!

Seize the Sketch Thanksgiving
Hello!
Hope everyone had a great Monday. Jacob and I had a great day together! Jacob had a swimming lesson tonight and finally got his kicking down! He was doing awesome! I was so proud of him! It's been a long road but he's getting there and loves the water!
I was excited to play along with this week's "Seize the Sketch" Challenge! Thank you Lesley Croghan for creating yet another fabulous challenge! I love sketch challenges! I must say the angled lines did stump me for a while. I'm a cut and dried kind of girl so throwing angles in there gets me off my game!
I'm in love with the Sweater Weather DSP! I love fall colours and when I saw this in the new catalogue I knew I had to have it!!! I couldn't wait any longer to make fall cards! I got out my Wonderfall stamp set and the Autumn Accents die and went to town! Throw in that fabulous Truly Grateful stamp set and autumn is in the air!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango
DSP: Sweater Weather
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Wonderfall, Truly Grateful
Other: Autumn Accents Die, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Argyle Embossing Folder, Dimesionals
Thanks for stopping by again today! Here's another Hawaii picture! This one was taken from the helicopter. I love the colour of the water and all of that fabulous sand! Gorgeous!
Have a fabulous day!

Seize the Birthday Cards...a little late!
Hello!
Hope the week is going well for you! We're having a crazy busy week here! I was really hoping for a nice relaxing Thursday! Ha! Not a chance! I was cleaning this morning since I had no children at home with me! Lunch duty at the school was something else...let's just say we had blood, vomit and a pink, itchy eye all in one hour - all from different kids! Life is never dull! If I come out of this unscathed it will be a miracle!!!
So I'm a little late getting my Seize the Birthday challenge cards up! I had them done in time to participate in the first week's challenge HOWEVER it was finding time to take pictures and post them! Needless to say I didn't quite get it done! Sorry Lesley!!!
This first card below was a customer request. She wanted a card that was grey, black and red!
This card was also a customer request! She needed a subtly Canadian card for her British friend!
Funny how two cards can be made by the same person using the same sketch and they look so different!

The Paper Players Fall Challenge
Hello!
How is your week going? Jacob had his first day of school on Thursday. Well, it wasn't quite a day of school. It was a half hour visit with the teacher (who was Caleb's teacher for the past two years!). Mrs. Cooper is wonderful and Jacob loves her (thankfully)! We had a great visit and he's ready for his next visit next Thursday...the start of kindergarten here is slow and painful!
Okay today's card...yes, it kinda looks like one I've made before but I tweaked it a bit to fit my mood! I am so in love with the new core'dinations cardstock that I just can't stop using it! Is that terrible? I recently "acquired" the Stampin' Up! sanding block...it is so much fun!!!
Today's card is for this week's "The Paper Players" challenge. Check out their design team's fabulous cards this week!
I love the Wonderfall stamp set and the Autumn Accents die. I don't know what I'll do when fall is over!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso (core'dinations), Cajun Craze, More Mustartd
DSP: Orchard Harvest
Stamps: Wonderfall, Apothecary Accents (sentiment)
Ink: Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Early Espresso
Other: Stripes TIEF, Buttons, Linen Thread, Autumn Accents Die, Dimensionals, Sanding Block
My baby started school today! He was so excited for his first day of Junior Kindergarten!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #46
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! We had a crazy storm here yesterday and I wondered if this post would even work! We spent the morning at the beach again yesterday! The boys love playing in the sand and the water. Tomorrow morning will be our Olympics party...not sure what will be on tap for today!
The new Holiday Catalogue is available for everyone TODAY! I'll try and have a link directly to the catalogue up shortly or you can just click on my "Shop 24-7" link to the right and see all the fun new products that are now available!
Today's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge sketch comes from the talented (and hopefully well rested after her vacation) Lesley Croghan! When I first saw it I thought the Top Note sketch would be easy but then I found it a little more challenging. I decided to do another fall card and use the new Wonderfall stamp set and corresponding Bigz die (both available TODAY!). Oh, not to mention my favourite Orchard Harvest DSP (also available today).
I cut my Top Note out of the new Core'dinations Early Espresso cardstock (also available today!) and then sanded off some of that top layer to show the inside colour off! It's so fun...I can't stop using it! Of course I had to emboss the background with the woodgrain...I'm sorry! I just LOVE the new stuff!
Cardstock: Early Espresso Core'dinations, More Mustard, Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla
DSP: Orchard Harvest
Stamps: Wonderfall, Apothecary Art (sentiment)
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Raspberry Ripple, Early Espresso
Other: Top Note Die, Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Edgelits Die, Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder, Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder
This is a picture of the storm and the branches that came down! We were without power for a few hours but it was restored rather quickly!
The other night we had to walk down my parents street to get the mail...Caleb rode his bike and Jacob decided that he would push the wheelbarrow all the way there and back...hilarious! Didn't quite make it back but thankfully the wheelbarrow is light!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!

Clean and Simple Maple Leaf
Hello!
I hope you all had a great day! It was hot here today...very hot. 42+ degrees C (or about 108 F) with the humidity. The boys played outside a bit this morning but by this afternoon it was WAY too hot! We did however go to see Madagascar 3 with them late afternoon. Caleb loved it...Jacob got bored! Go figure!
Okay, another sneak peek at some new Holiday Catalogue goodies. Unfortunately my picture does not do the new Champagne glimmer paper justice. It's just beautiful and more coppery to me than champagne but none the less! I also love the new buttons...The metallic colour is so perfect for fall! It's also hard to tell from this picture but the leaf is embossed with the new Early Espresso Embossing Powder! Oh and don't forget my favourite...the new Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder.
This week's CAS-ual Friday's challenge card is to create a Clean and Simple card using "Text". I think my maple leaf qualifies perfectly!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Wonderfall, Falling Leaves (retired)
Ink: Early Espresso, Versamark
Other: Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Brushed Bronze Designer Buttons, Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another Holiday Sneak Peek card!
Jen
