Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #534

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  I hope you're enjoying some beautiful spring weather!  We've had a great week but we could really use some rain.  I can't believe how dry it is here and we haven't even gotten to summer yet. I'm kind of dreading summer if we don't get some rain.

We've got another fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Our hostess this week is the absolutely amazing Cecile Ribon!  Cecile has the most amazing die collection I've ever seen and one day I'd love to travel to France to visit and play with those dies!!!

I wanted to keep my card nice and simple!  I also wasn't feeling super creative so I needed to keep things as simple as I could!  I really wanted to use my coneflower dies and opted to stick with a plain white flower.  I didn't really know how to create the background so used some stamps from my retired French Foliage set.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Gold Foil
Stamps: French Foliage, Flowering Tulips
Ink: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight
Other: Lovely Layers Honey Cuts (Honey Bee Stamps),  Tasteful Label Dies, Polished Dots, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll rush on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out our challenge this week!  The Design Team has done an amazing job at creating some gorgeous examples for you!

We sure hope you'll play along with us this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #483

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  I totally spaced on my blog post again.  Having the kids home again for online school means someone always has my laptop!  It's taking a bit to get used to having everyone home and changing my schedule.  I used to do blog posts during the day but have to do them in the evening when my laptop isn't in such high demand!  By the time I get the hang of it, it will be summer break!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess is the amazing Narelle Farrugia.  Narelle's cards are always divine.  Her layers, her fussy cutting and those flowers!  They always make my heart skip a beat!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

I wanted to channel my inner Narelle for this card.  I grabbed some flowers and coloured away.  Threw on some layers and I was off to the races.  I regretted not throwing on some gold thread though.  I actually made a second card that was almost the same and put thread on, totally made all the difference!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Whisper White

Stamps: Forever and Always, Pansy Patch, French Foliage

Ink: Basic Black, Memento Black

Other: Pierced Blooms Dies, Double Stitched Circle Dies, Clear Drops, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the challenge for the week!

Have an amazing day!

Retro Autumn

Hello!
I hope my fellow Canadian readers had a great Thanksgiving weekend.  We had such a nice day today.   It was so nice to relax together!  I actually uploaded photos to be printed and am excited to start working on my Project Life albums again!

I have another card today!  Shocking - I know!  I loved the sketch at Retro Sketches this weekend!  I don't usually know what to do with tags but I kinda had an idea of what I wanted to do with this one!

I'm still filling a customer order of nature themed cards.  My customer has requested some of the cards be blank!  It's actually hard for me to do that!  I sometimes find that my cards look naked!  However - this is what she requested and this is what I'll do!

I love French Foliage and was so sad when SU retired it.  It is so perfect for cards at any time of the year.  I love how many different patterns you can create with this set!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: French Foliage
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze
Other: Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Lattice Textured Embossing Folder, Fun Fall Framelits, Natural Twine,  Natural Chevron Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a  fabulous day!

Thankful!

Hello!
I hope you've had a great weekend!  I managed to get a few minutes in my craft room this afternoon (and really, it was only a few minutes!) so that was nice!  The boys had a busy day and were pretty tired by the time they were tucked in bed!  Tomorrow I'm heading to Niagara Falls NY shopping with some friends.  I don't really have anything I'm desperate to get but I am not turning down a day away!!!  My hubby will be staying home with the boys tomorrow.  I have heard there's a trip to the train store involved!!!

I decided to create a card for this week's Create with Connie and Mary challenge.  I really love sketch challenges and had a vision for this challenge!!!  Sometimes visions work and sometimes they don't.  I started out with the Halloween card at the bottom and it didn't really work!!!

I love fall cards - probably too much so.  I hope I remember to send my cards out this year!!!   I used the French Foliage stamp set for this card.  I know it's retired but I do truly love it.  I combined it with the sentiment from the Truly Grateful set.

Supplies: (Top card):
Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Stamps: French Foliage, Truly Grateful
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Cajun Craze
Other: Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals, Bronze Button, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Woodgrain Embossing Folder

Supplies: (Bottom Card)
Cardstock: Basic Black
DSP: Retired Halloween paper from last year....I forgot the name...sadly.
Stamps: Googly Ghouls, Mixed Medley
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Daisies #2 Die, Scalloped Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a great week!

CAS(E) Thinking of You!

Hello!
Happy Monday!  I totally have been out of the loop these last few weeks!  My husband went away for a week which left me with minimal stamping time!  Tomorrow we celebrate my oldest's 7th birthday!  I have no idea how it's possible that he can be 7 already!  We celebrated today with a pirate party for Caleb and 6 of his friends.  It was exhausting.  I'm thinking we will need to change things up a bit next year.

I really loved the CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge this week.  I really wanted to play along.  I must apologize for the quality of my photo.  it's late and I had to use my phone...

As soon as I saw this sketch I thought French Foliage.  I think this stamp set has got to be my all time favourite set.  I just love it!  It doesn't help that my favourite season is fall so to me I can have fall all year round!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Stamps: French Foliage, Apothecary Art
Ink: Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits, 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Here's a picture of my two pirates!  They were hilarious!!!!  The moustaches did not last long...sadly!  I thought for sure they'd love them!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!

Create with Connie and Mary Sympathy

Hello!
I trust you're as ready for the weekend as I am!  It's been an interesting week here at the Brum house!  Needless to say we're excited for next week and to have Daddy home with us.  We have some exciting day trips planned that should keep the boys good and entertained!  Stay tuned for the photo highlights!

Today's card was a hard one to make.  A friend of mine lost her dad a week ago in a terrible motorcycle accident.  I wanted to make a sympathy card for her and her family to let them know that we are thinking and praying for them.

I started with this week's Create with Connie and Mary Challenge sketch.  It was a great sketch and it worked perfectly for what I had in mind for a card.  I really love the Very Vanilla and Soft Suede combination. I use it often for sympathy cards.  I love the French Foliage stamp set as well and find it perfect for this type of card.  I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder for the background and the piece of soft suede.  It just needed a little something extra.  I included a butterfly and some pearls...of course!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Stamps: French Foliage, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso
Other: Basic Pearls, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Word Window Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

One more picture of the cute birthday boy on his birthday with new Angry Birds Lunch Box...all ready for Junior Kindergarten!

So Grateful

Hello!
Did you have a great day?  We had a good day!  The boys got some new binoculars so had to go around this morning investigating things!  Caleb still isn't feeling 100% yet so we're hoping for some improvements tomorrow...poor little guy!

I created a very clean and simple card this afternoon.  It's for two "challenges".  The first challenge is the Clean and Simple Cards challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  I was so glad they had a sketch this week since I needed something to work from !  The second challenge is the Sunday Stamps Challenge. This week they had a colour challenge.  The colours chosen were Red Riding Hood, So Saffron and Soft Suede.

I really do love the French Foliage stamp set.  It's perfect for almost any type of card...versatility is paramount when ordering stamps!  I love fall cards and fall colours and thought these two challenges combined would be perfect!  I used the sentiment from Apothecary Art and then cut it out using the Bitty Banners Framelits Die!  I decided to mount vanilla on vanilla just to give it a little added dimension!

Here's a picture of my little spies!  They sure love being at Grannie and Papa's!  So much so that we've decided to spend next week here too!  Poor Grannie!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanila
Stamps: French Foliage, Apothecary Art
Ink: Soft Suede, Red Riding Hood So Saffron
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits Dies,  Basic Pearls, 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
