Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #112

Hello!
Can you believe it's Wednesday already?  Where has the week gone!  Because Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day are over in Canada, we seem to be fast forwarding to Christmas as if it's next week!  I feel bombarded with songs and commercials and decorations and it feels like it was just October....what happened?  I guess I'll have to get my act together and get my shopping done and finalize some Christmas cards!

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today and I have the absolute privilege of being this week's Hostess!  I love being part of this great team and truly appreciate the support and encouragement this great group of ladies gives!
Of course because I've got Christmas on the brain, I decided to go with a Christmas card!  Go figure!  I wanted to do traditional red and white!  I love red....it's got to be my favourite colour (though if you asked my son Jacob he would say pink)!

You can't tell in this picture but the snowflakes have Dazzling Diamonds on them to give them a bit of glitter!  I should have re-taken the picture I suppose!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
DSP:  Season of Style
Stamps: A Round Array, Mixed Medley
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Stripes Textured Embossing Folder, Scalloped circle punches, circle punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Heat and Stick Powder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog!  You won't be disappointed when you see the cards the Design Team has created for you!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a fabulous day!

Thankful!

Hello!
I hope you've had a great weekend!  I managed to get a few minutes in my craft room this afternoon (and really, it was only a few minutes!) so that was nice!  The boys had a busy day and were pretty tired by the time they were tucked in bed!  Tomorrow I'm heading to Niagara Falls NY shopping with some friends.  I don't really have anything I'm desperate to get but I am not turning down a day away!!!  My hubby will be staying home with the boys tomorrow.  I have heard there's a trip to the train store involved!!!

I decided to create a card for this week's Create with Connie and Mary challenge.  I really love sketch challenges and had a vision for this challenge!!!  Sometimes visions work and sometimes they don't.  I started out with the Halloween card at the bottom and it didn't really work!!!

I love fall cards - probably too much so.  I hope I remember to send my cards out this year!!!   I used the French Foliage stamp set for this card.  I know it's retired but I do truly love it.  I combined it with the sentiment from the Truly Grateful set.

Supplies: (Top card):
Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Stamps: French Foliage, Truly Grateful
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Cajun Craze
Other: Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals, Bronze Button, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Woodgrain Embossing Folder

Supplies: (Bottom Card)
Cardstock: Basic Black
DSP: Retired Halloween paper from last year....I forgot the name...sadly.
Stamps: Googly Ghouls, Mixed Medley
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Daisies #2 Die, Scalloped Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a great week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #69

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
This is unfortunately going to be a short post!  It's been a long day and I'm exhausted!

Wednesday brings us a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Today the talented Linda Suarez brings us a fun sketch!  This is Linda's first sketch with us so be sure to drop her some love!

I really liked Linda's sketch!  I had one thing in mind when I first started but the card went in a different direction which is usually does!  My friend Jen's birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I think this card would be perfect for her!  I must say the new Bitty Butterfly punch in the Spring Catalogue has got to be one of my favourite things!  I can't use it enough!  I'm sure you guys will get sick of it!

Merry Monday Snowflakes

Hello!
Hope everyone had a great Monday!  Tuesday is a crazy day here but I'm glad we get it over with early in the week!

I decided that I wanted to participate in the Merry Monday challenge.  I had told Lesley a while ago I would get a card ready for the challenge!  I think I must have been envious of all of her beautiful Christmas cards!!!  I finally had a few minutes to sit down in my disastrous craft room and whip up a card!

I really love the Mixed Medley hostess set.  I love the snowflakes and doubly love the mini scalloped circle punch!  I threw some rhinestones on the snowflakes just so they sparkled a little.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP: Festival of Prints DSP Pack
Stamps: Mixed Medley, Chock Full of Cheer (Sentiment)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: White Embossing Powder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
Stop by tomorrow to see this week's sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Witch's Hat

Hello!
We survived another day!  I just got in from bootcamp and I'm feeling the burn!  I'm in "training" to do the CN Tower Climb for the United Way.  My goal is to beat my husband...not sure it's going to happen but I'll give it my best shot!

I was going through some of my favourite blogs the other day and came across this great project over on Penny Thomas' blog (Penguin Stamper).  You can see her blog here.   I've mentioned before that I'm not a big Halloween fan but my neighbour Owen is getting me into it!  I saw this cute hat made from the Petal Cone Die and decided to give it a try.  It's super "easy" to do once you get it all figured out (I embossed the first piece backwards so had to do it over again!).  I found cutting the paper a bit tricky but there are dimensions listed on Penny's blog!  I decided to use the scallop circle punches and the Mixed Medley spider web stamp to top it all off!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Silver Glimmer
DSP: I totally forget what it's called..it was out of it's wrapper and in my scraps!  Help me out!
Stamps: Mixed Medley
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Spider Web Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestone, Large Scallop Die, Scallop Circle Punches, Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Sour Cream Treat Containers

Hello!  The weekend is over.  How does it fly by so quickly?  This week will be a busy one.  I have a routine follow up appointment at the cancer centre tomorrow morning.  I have the privilege of taking Jacob with me!  This should be interesting!!!  He's not one for staying in one place for very long!

Today's card...well, it isn't a card!  It's a "box"?  Maybe a package!  I have always wanted to try a sour cream container!  I made this one for the SUO challenge!  This week's challenge was to create a box or bag.  I kinda think this is a little of both!  I can't believe how super easy these little cuties are!  Take a look at Heather Summer's video here and you'll be amazed!  I crimped the ends for an added look.  I wanted to use the Mixed Medley set since it was so cute for Halloween!  I might just make these for Caleb's class this year!!!  Though I had better get my act together!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
DSP: Howlstooth and Scaringbone
Stamps: Mixed Medley
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black
Other: Silver Brad, 1 1/4" Scalloped Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle punch, Black Satin Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a wonderful day!

Merry Monday Sparkles

Hello!
Hope you are ready for the weekend!  I know I am.  I actually thought Caleb would be more tired after a week of school but he wasn't too bad.  I was excited that I didn't have to make any lunches tonight!!!

I wanted to Tackle the Merry Monday sketch this week.  I really love how I can get my Christmas cards at least started before I actually need them!  If I start in January I should be good to go by next Christmas!

Blue and Silver aren't my favourite Christmas colours but I didn't think the snowflake would look too good in a colour other than silver!  I decided to pair the silver up with Midnight Muse (since it's my new favourite!).  I added a lot of dimension to this card oh and don't forget the bling!!!

The embossing folder is retired but I still do love it for Christmas cards!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
DSP: Midnight Muse Paper Stack
Stamps: Quint-Essential Flower, Mixed Medley
Ink: Midnight Muse, Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Embossing Folder (I can't remember the name...sorry!), Scalloped Circle Punches, 3/4" Circle Punch, Basic Rhinestones

Okay so one more picture of my babes...this is Caleb's first day of school (Tuesday).  I made them pose together...one of them was more excited than the other...tonight though they couldn't wait to sleep together!  They are in Jacob's bunk beds happy as little bugs in rugs!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday!

Hello!
Hope you're having a great start to your week!  We had a great day today!  Playdates at the park and swimming lessons in a VERY warm pool!  Jacob has turned into a fish and there's nothing stopping him now!  Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a VERY special day at our house!  Tomorrow is my baby's 4th birthday!  I can't believe Jacob will be 4!  Those years have sure gone by fast.  He has changed so much and is now growing up so quickly!  We are heading out to a playdate with his best friend Caitlin this morning then onto lunch at McDonald's....it was his choice...not mine!  Dinner will be tacos - his absolute favourite!

Okay...enough of me and my baby!  Today I decided to tackle this week's Merry Monday challenge.  I'm totally bummed I missed last week's challenge so I needed to get this card made today!  This card took me forever to do...it started out looking very different...honestly...sometimes I wonder about how my brain works!  I think this card looks a bit better in person than it does in jpeg!

I love the lacy brocade embossing folder and couldn't help but use it!  Of course I also had to throw at least one pearl in there!  I also got my hands on the new Stampin' Up! sanding block...must say it's way better than stealing sandpaper from my husband's workshop!!!

Supplies;
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Mixed Medley, Bright Hopes
Ink: Versarmark, Early Espresso
Other: Scalloped Circle Punches, circle punch, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Basic Pearls

Here is a picture of my pumpkin 30 minutes after he was born (6 weeks early)...not the healthiest baby.
Below is a picture of Jacob this past weekend with a fabulous Angry birds card my mom made for him!

Quint-essentially for you!

Hello!
Hope you had a great weekend and are ready to tackle the week!  I am looking forward to an exciting weekend - and the birthday of a very special little boy!!!

Today's card is for this week's Create with Connie and Mary challenge.  This week was a colour challenge and they picked some of my favourite colours!  Who doesn't love Midnight Muse, Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green?  Seriously?!  I'm in love!

I used the sketch from this week's Clean and Simple Cards challenge on Splitscoast Stampers since I thought it would work perfectly with the three colours!

I used the Quint-Essential Flower and then combined it with the new Hostess Set from the Holiday Catalogue - Mixed Medley!  I just love those little scalloped circles!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Whisper White
DSP: Midnight Muse DSP Pack
Stamps: Quint-Essential Flower, Mixed Medley
Ink: Midnight Muse, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green
Other:  Daffodil Delight Ribbon, Dimensionals, Scalloped Circle Punches (2 3/8", 1 3/4" and 1 1/4"),  3/4 " Circle Punch, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder

Here's a picture of my littlest sweetheart setting up his train set!  He was so excited!  He couldn't wait for Daddy to get home to help him tear open the box.  Needless to say the train didn't fit on the dining room table so it ended up on my living room floor!
