Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #580

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We've had a few days of freezing fog.  It's a new thing for me - we didn't seem to have this in Ontario.  Basically, the temperature is below freezing and it's super foggy and then all the trees get coated with fog creating freezing fog.  It's super cool and really pretty BUT it's April and I'm done with it!

We've got a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the queen of clean cards herself, Jen Mitchell!  Jen's cards are so beautiful so head to her blog and check them out!

Jen's sketch  might have thrown me for a loop.  I had decided that I would give the Be Bold Blooms a break (even though I didn't really want to and in hindsight probably should have used them)!  I had this basket of strawberries on my desk and decided that I would use them.  I obviously wasn't paying attention to the sketch and my panels are all the wrong size.  Sometimes I wonder about myself!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Real Red, Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso
Paper: Summer Lovin' Red Gingham (Simple Stories)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Early Espresso
Other: Lovely Layers Strawberries (Honey Bee Stamps), Yana's Special Sentiments (Spellbinders), Silver Foil, Silver Sequins

A couple of photos from our hike on the weekend.  This was the steepest hike we've done.  Not the longest or the highest but definitely the steepest.  It was crazy but the view was spectacular!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  We always love to see all the amazing designs!

Have an amazing day!

Jen

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #426

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having an amazing start to your week!  We're having some incredible spring like weather right now.  I know it won't last but it was so beautiful.  I even got an outdoor workout in!  With the time change, we've also had brighter evenings!  Makes me feel like I might be able to come out of hibernation!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess this week is our favourite New Zealander, Karren Johnson!  Karren just oozes creativity.  Her colouring and her stamp collection are top notch!!!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

I happened to have most of these pieces sitting on my desk!  That rarely happens!  I put them together, added some gold sentiments and voila!  I embossed the background with the subtle texture embossing folder because it just needed a little something!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Gold Foil
DSP: Brights DSP Paper Stack
Stamps: Modern Heart (SU),  Well, Hello (MFT)
Ink: Versamark
Other: Gold Embossing Powder,  Sweet Hello Die-namics (MFT), Gold Sequins, Subtle Texture Embossing Powder

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  They are just fabulous!!!

I hope you'll join our challenge this week!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #236

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  We're finally getting some sort of spring like weather around here.  The long range forecast has some temperatures that are not very springy but I guess as long as it's not snowing we shouldn't complain!  If you haven't heard about the terrible wild fires in Fort McMurray (Alberta, Canada), you need to check out the news.  This entire city of over 80,000 has been evacuated and about 2500 structures (homes and businesses) have been lost.  I can't even begin to imagine the devastation these people are facing.  So many people were only given a minute's notice before they had to leave their home and they've lost everything.  If you haven't done so, please consider donating to the Canadian Red Cross and helping out these thousands of families who are in such incredible need right now!

Being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess with the mostess this week is Rita Wright!  Rita makes fabulous cards and can colour like nobody's business!  I long to colour like Rita!!!

This sketch may have thrown me for a loop.  There's a giant bird on it!  That's like planting a giant circle or even a square for that matter. I could not think of a shape to use!  That and I have felt so uncreative lately.  I saw my Fancy Feathers stamp set from Lil Inkers sitting in my bucket and decided I would use them for this card!  I opted for some silver embossing powder and vellum to create the feathers!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamps: Fancy Feathers (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Versamark, Stazon Black
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Stitched Rectangles (Lil Inkers), Fancy Feathers Dies (Lil Inkers), Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over the the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing card the design team has created!  I also hope you'll head over to the Canadian Red Cross and make a donation to help out some families who have lost so much!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #220

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  It's been a lot colder here this week than it has been.  That being said, it's no where near as cold as it was last year so we'll take this.   We finally have a bit of snow on the ground which makes the kids happy!  Caleb loves to shovel so he's happy to be of assistance whenever we need him!!!

We have a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I am happy to be your hostess this week!  I always find coming up with sketches tough.  Of course I had to design a sketch with circles!  They say you should face your fears right?!  I designed this sketch with this stamp set in mind though!
I still love my Zig markers and can't stop using them!  I just want to colour everything in sight!  Unfortunately my 7 year old (who is writing utensil obsessed) feels that he should also have a right to use them so I kinda have to use them when he's not around!  It's taking me a bit to get the hang of these markers and when to use a water brush and when to not use the brush!  It's sure fun to play around with them.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Water Colour (Canson)
Stamps: Love Blooms (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Stazon Black, Cucumber Crush
Other: Love Blooms Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you get a chance to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for your viewing pleasure!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #179

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We are having a bit of a cold spell here in Southern Ontario.  We had some nice warm weather on Saturday but it has quickly changed!  Not very spring like at all!  I did see my first robin on Saturday which is a sure indication that spring is coming, maybe just not as soon as we'd like!

Being Wednesday, we have a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I just love this week's sketch and of course the fabulous creator - our talented and creative Amy O'Neill!

This has got to be one of my favourite sketches!  There are just so many possibilities for it.  I couldn't wait to crack open my Sheltering Tree stamp set.  At first I wasn't sure what colour to make the leaves but who doesn't love apple or cherry blossoms?!  We don't have any apple or cherry trees close by, and even if we did they sure wouldn't be blossoming with these temperatures but a girl can dream!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Sheltering Tree
Ink: Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi, Strawberry Slush
Other: Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for you!!!  You won't be disappointed!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches #171

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are having a great week!  We are battling a cold at our house.  So far, just the boys have been down for the count and I would love to leave it that way!  Poor little Jacob is just so tired at night he can barely keep his eyes open!  Thankfully both boys are able to sleep very well at night!

Being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our fabulous hostess this week is the talented Rita Wright!  You need to head over to her blog in a bit and check out the beautiful cards she creates - and don't forget that absolute sweetheart of a little girl she has!
Now, this sketch has one GIANT circle on it.  By now, most people know how I feel about circles!  This circle was also too huge to be accommodated by my new Donut die from Reverse Confetti!  I must admit that this one stumped me for a while.  I tried to make a tag to be like Jen Mitchell and then tried some flowers to be like Narelle Farrugia but it just didn't work!

I remembered that I had my Daisy Die from Stampin Up and thought I would put it to work!  I may have tried a pink one instead of a white one but it just didn't look right!  I tried a million combinations of paper before I found one that worked.  Cards sometimes do not come together in 10 minutes like I'd like!   If you ever find that please know, you're not alone!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack
Stamps: In A Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Big Daisy Die, Stitched Rectangle Dies (Lil' Inkers), Vellum, Basic Rhinestones,  Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the design team has created!  We can't wait to see what you will come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #165

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  It's December!  How on earth did that happen?!  Christmas is coming super fast! I was wrapping some gifts this afternoon but let me tell you,  I'm not feeling too festive these days.  I think it's the strange weather we've been having.  Warm then cold but very little snow - seems so odd for this time of the year around here!  Hopefully over the next few weeks I start to feel a bit more Christmasy!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Cindy Lovell is our fabulous hostess this week.  She makes the most amazing cards.  You need to grab a coffee (or tea!) and head on over to her blog and enjoy each and every one of her creations!
This sketch proved a little more challenging that I had thought it would be!  I do like a challenge though!  I couldn't decide if I would make a Christmas card or a regular card!  Since I'm not feeling all that festive, a regular card won!  I wanted to create a fairly simple card and limit the layers.  I love layers on cards - but sometimes I just need a card that's very simple!

I so love the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.  I decided to stamp the background with Silver Encore ink.  It has a bit of sparkle in real light!  I tried different colours of butterflies but black showed up best.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, And Many More
Ink: Silver Encore, Blackberry Bliss, Basic Black
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has come up with for you!  We cannot wait to see what you create for us this week!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches #97

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope everyone is having a great week!  The boys and I did some glow in the dark bowling the other day and enjoyed a visit with Grannie and Papa (my parents) today!  We are getting ready to head on a little vacation and the boys are going to have a little visit with my mom and dad!  We will be heading out Thursday morning to Kauai, Hawaii!   I won't be commenting on any cards this week so please don't think I don't love what you've created!

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today!  Today's fabulous sketch comes from Jennifer Timko!  We at FMS are so proud of Jen for making it onto the Stampin' Up! Aritsan Team.
I didn't know what to do for this card!  I loved the sketch but didn't feel the creative juices flowing.  I was searching through my DSP stash and found my favourite - Orchard Harvest - and couldn't resist.  We have been having some chilly weather here and the cool nights have reminded me of fall weather.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, More Mustard (retired), Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade (retired)
DSP: Orchard Harvest (retired)
Stamps: Six-Sided Sampler
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, Basic Pearls, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  Head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the beautiful cards the design team has created!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Have a great week!
