Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #700

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a great week so far!  The summer weather has finally arrived - let's just hope the snow stays away for another couple of months so we can actually enjoy it.

We are so excited to be celebrating our 700th sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Can you believe that?  We've been creating sketches for you for 14 years!  I started playing along with Freshly Made Sketches at sketch #16!  You can see that card below!  Crazy to think that it was almost right near the beginning that I started to play.  I joined the design team at sketch #38.  I'm so thankful they've kept me around all this time!

For this special sketch, we've invited back some of the designers that joined us along the way.  I'm so excited to see the cards that they create!  We sure hope you'll join us this week as well!  Our winner this week will get to be a guest designer for a week with us!!!

Since this is our 14th year, we've picked our 14th sketch as the sketch we're using for our challenge this week!
I needed a more masculine birthday card and I wanted to use the new paper I had sitting on my desk so I went to town.  The mushrooms are actually cut out from paper in the Mintay paper pack.  I just love mushrooms.  We saw so many on our last hike.  They were gorgeous!  This card came together a lot faster than they normally do!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill White Coverstock, Soft Suede, Cajun Craze
Patterned Paper: Lakeside Memories Basics (Paper Rose), Wildwood Secrets (Mintay Papers)
Dies: Happy Fall Sentiments

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week!  We can't wait to see what you create!  Feel free to post the first card you ever submitted!  We'd love to see that too!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #688

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you've had a great start to your week.  The weather has been beautiful and I think that summer is right around the corner!  I can't wait to spend more time outside!  I have most of the summer off and I'm looking forward to taking advantage of it!!

We've got a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  I have the privilege of being this week's hostess!  It's always fun to create a sketch and then see what everyone does with it.  I really hope you'll play along with our challenge this week.
So I actually wasn't even sure what I was going to do with my own sketch!  I need a few masculine cards (though with the status of Canada Post I'm not sure I'll be sending any out) so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.  I dragged out some very old SU DSP for this one!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill Coverstock White, Real Red, Basic Black, Basic Grey, Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, Silver
DSP: Retired SU (I can't remember the name)
Stamps: Typewriter Adventure Sentiments,
Ink: Black (Pink Fresh Studios)
Dies: Guiding Light (Spellbinders), Nesting Postages Die (Waffle Flower)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  If you need some inspiration you will definitely find it on the blog!

You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered into this week's challenge!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #682

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We are cruising into Easter.  Easter seems so late this year and we are already heading towards the end of April and I feel like it should have just started.  My oldest son is just wrapping up his first year at university.  How did that happen?  He starts work full time as an intern for the summer in just a couple of weeks.

We have a fantastic new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of Judy Rozema!  Judy's cards are always delightful so you'll want to head over to her blog and check them out!  I still haven't figured out when she has time to make cards because she is so involved in her local theatre!
Judy's sketch is super fun and gave me a good challenge trying to figure out what I was going to do with it.  The last time I was at our local craft store I picked up the Landscape Edges dies from Spellbinders.  I thought I could cram them into that circle and make a more masculine card!  It's probably a little tight and I should have used a bigger circle but I'm happy with how it turned out!

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Hammermill White Cover Stock, Soft Sky (SU), Garden Green (SU), Daffodil Delight (SU), Smoky Slate (SU)
Patterned Paper: Timeless Plaid (SU)
Ink: Rustic Wilderness, Tumbled Glass, Fossilized Amber, Hickory Smoke (All Distress Oxides)
Dies: Landscape Edges (Spellbinders), Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Shine Bright (Reverse Confetti)
Other: Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders), Curved Everyday Sentiments (Spellbinders), Silver Foil (Spellbinders)

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

I hope you'll head over to our blog and join in our challenge this week!  You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered into this week's challenge!  We always love to see all the creative ways you use our sketches!

 Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #378

Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We are having spring like weather this week.  It's the weirdest thing.  At this time last year the ground was buried deep in snow.  It seems so strange to have such warm weather already.  I will enjoy our double digits this week and not complain!

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the amazing Karren Johnson!  Karren's cards are fantastic so please head over to her blog to check them out and leave her some love!

I had stopped at our local paper crafting store and picked up some new goodies that I'm rather excited to use!  The first was this moose stamp!  I checked thoroughly for a bear but since there wasn't one, moose it was!  I did need to use the Misti to get it well stamped.  I paired it with some plaid paper and called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill Coverstock White, Mossy Meadow (SU)
Patterned Paper: The Great Outdoors (Mintay Papers)
Stamps: Oakley (Lavinia Stamps), Itty Bitty Birthday (MFT)
Ink: Detail Black (Pink Fresh Studios)
Dies:  Stitched Circles, Itty Bitty Strips (MFT)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll join in our challenge this week!  You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered into this week's challenge.  If you need some inspiration, please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the Design Team's cards that are posted!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #665

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We've got a chinook rolling through so the weather has been lovely!  Some of that crazy snow we had received is melting!  We had some freezing fog this morning so the trees are coated again but that must makes them super pretty!  Are you ready for Christmas?  I think I'm pretty much done!  I have a couple of little things to do and some stocking stuffers to buy but I feel better than I did last week!

We've got a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess is the lovely Kim Singdahlsen.  Kim makes such beautiful cards so head over to her blog to check them out!  I'm a little behind in getting my card posted!  I actually had it done good and early but I had forgotten to take a picture and by the time I remembered yesterday, it was pitch black out and I take terrible inside pictures when it's dark!  Soooo...here I am a few hours late!

I started with strips.  I tried.  I really did.  I have given up on Christmas cards because Canada Post is on strike so the mail isn't going anywhere anyhow and I figure they'll be so backed up when the strike is over that I might as well move onto a different type of card!

My husband's birthday is early in February and creeps up on me so I thought I'd get a head start and get that card done!  I started with a different idea and hated it and wanted to incorporate mountains somehow so I threw some trees in for my long strips and away we went!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill Coverstock White, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate, Silver Foil
Dies: Pine Woods Dies (SU), A2 Mountain Scene Builder Add-On Honey Cuts (Honey Bee Stamps), Celebrate Script (Taylored Expressions)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll join in our challenge this week!  You have until Monday at 1 PM EST to get your card entered into this week's challenge.  If you need some inspiration, head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out what's posted there!  The Design Team has some amazing cards!

 Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #627

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We have emerged from winter and have been enjoying some beautiful weather!  Warm temperatures and lots of sunshine!  My husband I went skiing on the weekend and had the best time!  The weather and conditions were perfect!  Probably our best skiing adventure in a long time!

We have a fun new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Karren Johnson!  Karren is an incredible card designer and I'm always wowed by her creations!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

I wasn't sure what to do with this when I first saw the sketch but then when I next looked at the sketch I saw mountains and a sun so that's how we rolled!  I had to piece a few dies together hence the big trees in front.  I needed to cover up the ugly joint!  I can't wait for the summer hiking season to start.  Right now we're in a severe avalanche risk season.  Trails that don't normally experience avalanches are seeing avalanches.  I digress...back to cards!

I grabbed some mountain dies, some Distress Oxides and went to work!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill White Coverstock
Ink: Bundled Sage, Rustic Wilderness, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Uncharted Mariner, Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, Scattered Straw (Distress Oxides - Tim Holtz)
Other: Mini Everyday Sentiment (Spellbinders), Layering Alpine Lake Scene (Prism Studio), Shine Bright Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), A2 Mountain Scene Builder (Honey Bee Stamps), Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders)

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  If you need some inspiration you'll definitely find it on the blog.

We can't wait to see what you create this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #619

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We are just sort of exiting from the polar vortex that had trapped Alberta in a state of deep freeze for the last week.  I have never been so glad to see temperatures that read -20C!  The good thing is that the sun shines the entire time so I did get out for a walk one day despite it being bitterly cold.  We now have some snow in the forecast which doesn't do a whole lot for me since snow removal in Alberta leaves a little to be desired!!!

We've got a brand new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this is our theatre queen Judy Rozema!  On top of loving the theatre, Judy also makes incredible cards and her blog is full of stunners so go and take a look!

I had recently purchased these mountain dies from Prism Studio and couldn't wait to use them.  They come as a complete card face and you'll see one of those in the near future but I wanted to just use a little piece of them!  I went to two with the Distress Oxides and ended up as inky as all get out!  It was so fun though!  I wanted to try and get a few masculine cards ready for when I need them over the coming weeks and because I was putting off making the baby card that I actually need (because I don't like making baby cards!).

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill White Coverstock, Basic Black
Ink: All Distress Oxides - Twisted Citron, Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Broken China, Uncharted Mariner, Lost Shadow, Hickory Smoke , Frayed Burlap, Gathered Twigs, Black Soot
Other: Layering Alpine Lake Scene (Prism Studio), Be Bold Sentiments (Spellbinders), Silver Foil (Spellbinders), Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge!  We always love to see what you come up with and if you need any inspiration you'll find it there!

I don't have any hiking pictures for you this week.  It was a little too chilly to be on top of a mountain somewhere!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #617

Hello and Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!  We had a very quite Christmas and start to the New Year.  We didn't travel anywhere this year and so it was just the 4 of us and that was just perfect for me.  I missed my family terribly and hope to get to visit them soon but Christmas is always so hectic to travel.  We got some hikes in and some ski days!  It was wonderful.  I got to sleep in (sleeping in is 6 AM for me) and so that was lovely!  I start a new job next week so I'm a little nervous!  I haven't worked in 17 years so getting back into the throws of things will be different.  Thankfully it's just part time and I get to do something that is out of my comfort zone so I'll be learning new things!  I'm taking on the role of Women's Coordinator at our church!  I'm excited and have lots of ideas bouncing around in my head so we'll see how this goes!

Okay we've got our first sketch of the new year ready for you at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is Narelle Farrugia.  Narelle's cards are always jaw dropping and her creativity always amazes me!  Head over to her blog to check them out!  I think one of Narelle's resolutions this year is to come and visit me so I can take her up a mountain!

This is a great sketch and shockingly I knew what I wanted to do right away!  My husband's bestie's birthday is coming up next week and I thought I'd try and get a head start on some of my January cards.  Don't worry - this increased organization will probably only last a week or so!  I've got a lot of outdoorsy themed paper that I rarely used but knew it would be perfect for this card!  I cut some trees, coloured them with some Distress Inks and added my sentiment!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Gray Granite (SU), Hammermill White Coverstock
Patterned Paper: Mountain Trek 2.0 (Paper Rose)
Distress Ink: Rustic Wilderness, Mowed Lawn, Bundled Sage, Shabby Shutters
Other: Evergreens (Taylored Expressions), Mini Everyday Sentiments (Spellbinders), Square Dies (Spellbinders), Black Foil (Spellbinders), Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders).

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to our Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week!  The Design Team has got some amazing cards posted to spark your creativity!

Ski day!  We're missing a kid because he was off skiing with friends!

One gorgeous sunrise in the mountains!

The Summit of Prairie Mountain

Still smiling!  It was a great hike!

I hope you have a great week!  Make sure you get outside and get some fresh air!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #593

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are having a fantastic start to your week!  My youngest and I are heading off on an adventure today!  We're flying to see my parents and attend my cousin's wedding in Ontario!  I've actually been able to see my parents a few times already this year which has been wonderful!  I'm super excited to visit them during the summer.  Though I might not be looking forward to the humidity!

We've got a fantastic new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our favourite New Zealander, Karren Johnson!  Karren's such a creative stamper and is the queen of hot foiling!  She's one of the reasons I'm broke!!!
I needed a card for my Father-in-law's birthday - which was yesterday.  Karren's sketch was perfect!  I used the amazing Adventure Awaits paper pad from Honey Bee Stamps with the coordinating Pinstripes and Polka Dots: Outdoors.  I threw on some evergreens and called it a day!  I struggled with the sentiment and I'm still not sold on it but it's what worked!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, Certainly Celery, Basic White (SU)
Patterned Paper: Adventure Awaits, Pinstripes & Polkadots: Outdoors (Honey Bee Stamps)
Other: Evergreens Dies (Taylored Expressions), Sentiments for Everyday (Spellbinders), Silver Foil (Spellbinders), Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders), Tasteful Labels Dies (SU)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please be sure to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge.  The girls on the Design Team have created some gorgeous cards that will definitely inspire you!

I thought I'd share a few photos of one of our more recent adventures!  We did two hikes this weekend.  I'll share the second one next week!  We hiked at Cory Pass.  It's a beautiful area that passes between Mount Cory and Mount Edith!  I wasn't sure what to expect but it far exceeded my expectations.  It was such a beautiful area!  I loved it and we had the whole area to ourselves!

I hope you have the most amazing week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #571

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We survived the polar vortex which included some unexpected snow.  Warmer temperatures are expected through the weekend which is lovely and something to look forward to.  I still can't believe we're almost done with January!  Usually I find January drags on but I feel like we blinked and it was over and done with!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess is the wonderful Jen Mitchell - the absolute and ultimate Queen of Clean and Simple!  Her cards are beautiful so head over to her blog and check them out!

Jen has a lovely slimline sketch for us this week but I went against the grain and opted for a regular sized card -  mainly because I forgot it was supposed to be slimline and didn't want to go back and change it.

My husband has a birthday coming up this Friday and I always find masculine cards hard.  I found this paper at our local scrapbook store and knew it would work perfectly for his card!  I had to cut out those speech bubbles and since my reading glasses aren't ready yet so they aren't pretty cuts!!  Getting old is for the birds.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White,
Patterned Paper: Pink Fresh (Authentic and Be Bold)
Other: Modest Greetings 1 Hot Foil Plate (Poppy Stamps), Silver Hot Foil

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out our challenge!  Hopefully you'll be inspired to join in this week!  We sure would love to have you play along.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #556

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a great start to the week!  We've been having the most beautiful weather here!  Last year about this time it was much cooler and we had snow on Thanksgiving weekend.  We've had beautiful sunshine and and warm temperatures and we will totally take it all in!  The warm weather has lengthened our hiking season which is amazing!  We did an incredible one last weekend.  We hiked up Mount Sparrowhawk which was our first 10,000 footer!  It was a grind but oh so amazing!  Check out the view below!

We've got a fantastic sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our colour guru Amy O'Neill!  Amy's cards are always so pretty!  Head over to her blog to check out her creativity!

If I said this was my first rendition of this sketch, I would totally be lying.  Same if I said it was the second or third rendition!  Seriously, this one almost did me in!  Honestly.  Sometimes the mojo just isn't flowing!

I had this bear sitting on my desk and I happen to love a sweet grizzly so I knew I would have to make a card around him!  I had this fall paper still sitting out and decided I wanted to use it up while it was still fall!  Voila!  Card is made!  It's definitely not my favourite but I wanted a more masculine card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Basic White
Paper: Plaid Fever (Echo Park)
Stamps: Little Birthday Notes (MFT)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Woodland Silhouettes 2 (Taylored Expressions), Pine Woods Dies (SU), Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Tasteful Label Dies, Dimensionals

We met a couple of people on the summit - all previously from Ontario who offered to take our picture!  So nice to have a pic that isn't a selfie!

The incredible view from the top!

Sometimes you encounter wild animals!  These are mountain sheep.  They are generally easy going - if they're female but these moms had babies with them.  We kept our distance but the herd was blocking the trail so we had to bang our hiking poles together to get them to move along!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you will head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in this week's challenge!  We always love seeing the amazing cards that get entered in the challenge each week!  We definitely have a creative group that participates!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #513

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  Happy Thanksgiving week to my American friends!  I hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating with your families!  I also hope that everyone has a safe Black Friday!  I think I'll be avoiding the stores at all costs!  I'm not big on crowds or people!!!

We have a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I have the privilege of being this week's hostess!  I always find coming up with a sketch challenging but I sure love seeing each and every card that you come up with!  I kept with a simple sketch but know that you guys will knock it out of the park!

I did put a circle on there...just to try and force myself out of my comfort zone!  I need a couple of birthday cards and decided I would convert my circle to a forest of trees!  Hopefully this card could work for either a man or a woman!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Basic White, Basic Black. Garden Green, Evening Evergreen

DSP: Peaceful Prints

Stamps: Itty Bitty Birthdays

Ink: Garden Green

Other: Pine Woods Dies, Evergreen Dies (Taylored Expressions), Clear Droplets

Thanks so much for topping by today!

I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the cards the Design Team has posted!  I can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #433

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're all keeping well and haven't gone completely bonkers stuck at home!  I must say that I don't mind being trapped at home.  As an introvert, I'm quite happy at home!!  My little squirrel (aka Jacob) is not so excited about it.  The boys have had a bit too much together time and could use a little time apart.  We'll have to figure out how to make that work!

Well, quarantine aside, we have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the incredible Jen Mitchell!  Jen is the queen of creating super clean and simply amazing cards.  Head over to her blog to check out her creations!
So at first I wasn't too sure what to do with this sketch.  That blob in the centre kinda frightened me.  Then I remembered that I needed to make a masculine 16th birthday card for someone.  I decided to use this sketch as the basis for my card.

I hauled out the old Off the Grid Stamp set from SU and went to work.  Black and silver seemed like a good option for a masculine card so that's what I went with.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Stamps: Off the Grid, Clubhouse (sentiment)
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Large Number Dies, Golf Club Dies

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!

Have an amazing week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #400

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  For those of you who have kids who have started school already, I hope the beginning has gone well!  We have another week and a half off and I am totally going to soak that in.  I'm not ready for summer to be over.  It was far too short and our school year seems far too long!

We have another great sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches celebrating our 400th sketch!  This week we're celebrating using Sketch #300
I have not felt at all creative these days.  It's been rather discouraging.  I sit in my craft room and just stare at everything.  I really struggled to make this card as well but it had to be done!  It's for Jacob who is celebrating his 11th birthday TODAY!  I can't believe my baby is 11!  He's on a huge space kick right now.  When we were in Orlando a few weeks ago, we were able to see a rocket launch.  It was the most unbelievable experience and the look on his face watching that rocket launch was priceless.

Anyhow, I remembered I had this rocket stamp set from PTI and knew it would be perfect to make his card.  I coloured the rocket up with some Stampin' Blends and picked some colours that I thought would look good together.

Supplies
Cardstock: Basic Black. Real Red, Whisper White, Silver Foil, Silver Glimmer
DSP: Brights 6X6 Stack
Stamps: Boy Basics: Out of this World (PTI)
Ink: Memento Black, Versamark
Other:  Star Dies, Stitched Circles, Silver Embossing Powder, Stampin' Blends, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created to inspire you!

Have an amazing week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #389

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you've had a great start to your week!  We've had an exciting week at our house.  Our oldest turned 13 yesterday!  I can't believe it.  How on earth did that happen?!  I honestly don't think I've aged at all!!  Except that after the bike ride we did on Monday and the epic fall I had, I'm definitely not feeling 20 anymore!!!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our amazing flower queen Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle is a fussy cutting and flower creating master!  I just love all of her cards!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

So, as you can probably imagine, this isn't the first version of this card.  This card challenged me - I think because I needed it to be a masculine looking 13th birthday card.  I also now realize that the red banner is VERY crooked.  Honestly!  I couldn't get the positioning of anything right and I tried over and over!  I don't think Caleb even really noticed.  He's a boy...I'm not sure why I did so much fussing!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Silver Foil, Black Sparkle (Non-SU), Black Foil
Stamps: Itty Bitty Birthdays
Ink: Memento Black
Other: Number Framelits, Star Dies, Starburst Framelits, Circle Dies, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you'll head over for the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will definitely feel inspired!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #375

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We ended up with another snow day yesterday and the schools were closed.  I figured it might be a snow day so advised my kids to sleep in.  Nope.  Wasn't going to happen.  Both of them up at 7:15!!  They're both praying that school is cancelled again today!  Too funny!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess is our favourite French designer Cecile Ribon!  Cecile's cards are just gorgeous!  She has the most intriguing die cuts and I always love to see how she uses them!

I started out not knowing what I would do with this sketch!  I had something in mind and tried several times to make it work but had to start over.  I went through my dies and found some dual stitched triangles that I figured would work perfectly.  I threw in some circle garlands and I was off to the races!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist, Midnight Muse
Stamps: Essential Sentiments (MFT)
Ink: Midnight Muse
Other: Circle Garland Die (Reverse Confetti), Dual Stitched Triangle Dies (Lil Inkers), Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created for you!

We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #372

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're enjoying your week.  If you live in the Eastern part of Canada or the US you're digging out after some snow and starting to thaw after some crazy cold weather.  We didn't get as much snow here as I thought we would get - which is totally okay with me.  It's supposed to actually be warm and rain today which will just make for a big mess.  Oh the joys of winter!  I guess when we live in Canada, we kinda have to expect the cold and snow!!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the lovely and talented Linda Callahan!  Linda makes amazingly beautiful cards.  I just love them!  She also tells great stories and has a sweet new grandson!  Head over to her blog to check it out!

I am still playing around with some of the fun goodies that I got for Christmas.  I need a birthday for my husband and thought I would work on it early rather than leaving it for the last minute - which I usually do!

I have had this Reverse Confetti Sentiment Essentials stamp set for a while now but only got the matching dies for Christmas.  Apparently I didn't realize when I bought them that there were matching dies!  I paired that with some Reverse Confetti paper and some embossing folders and was off to the races!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Blueberry Bushel
Paper: Paper Bliss 6X6 (Reverse Confetti)
Stamps: Sentiment Essentials
Other: Sentiment Essentials Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder, Sequins (Taylored Expressions), Dimensionals

Thanks again so much for stopping in today.  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will definitely be glad you did!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #350

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm so sorry that this post is late!  We were away at the beginning of the week and I totally forgot to write this post beforehand and schedule it to post!  Our family just spent a few days exploring Tobermory which is a beautiful town in Ontario!  The water is amazingly clear and there are even some cool shipwrecks you can see under the water!  It was nice to get away but it's always nice to get home too!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess is the amazing Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle is our amazing fussy cutter and flower stamper supreme!  Head on over to her blog to check out here beautiful cards!
I needed a birthday card for my dad and unfortunately masculine cards are not my specialty.  I had purchased this new embossing folder and stamp set from the little scrapbook store in my parents town.  Of course I love the Night of Navy/Lucky Limeade combination and I can't stop using it!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Lucky Limeade
DSP: Tutti Frutti (Retired)
Stamps: Essential Sentments (MFT)
Ink: Night of Navy
Other: Weathered Embossing Folder (Tailored Expressions), 2.5" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created for your inspiration!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #343

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  We're in the home stretch for school being finished here.  Finally.  The boys are done on Friday and they are super excited to be done.  They aren't doing too much at school these days but that's okay.  They're having fun and their teachers are still getting them to do things so everyone is happy!   We're also in the homestretch before camp.  Monday is the big day!  I'm excited and nervous!  I'm hoping that everything is ready to go!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazingly talented Jennifer Timko!  Jen's cards are just fabulous.  Her colouring and combinations always take my breath away!  She is one creative girl!  Head over to her blog to be wowed!

I needed a masculine birthday card for my father-in-law's upcoming birthday.  I don't have a lot of masculine stamps so I ended up choosing this one - So Very Special by Reverse Confetti.  I opted to use my new favourite colour combination - Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist, Night of Navy
Stamps: So Very Special (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Night of Navy, Lemon Lime Twist
Other: Sequins, Simple Stripes Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will be inspired!

Have a fantastic day!

Jen
