Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #607

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  If you're a Canadian you might have celebrated Thanksgiving on the weekend.  We had a lovely weekend.  Our neighbours came over for Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday and then we enjoyed leftovers Sunday and Monday!  It was lovely!  No hike for us this weekend so no pictures for you.  Sorry.  We decided that we would just enjoy the weekend and get some things done around the house - plus I feel like I spent part of the weekend in the kitchen!  I'm sure you know what I mean!

We've got a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week our favourite Texan, Amy O'Neill!  Amy's cards are always delightful and she so much creativity!  You need to head over to her blog and check them out!

At first I stared at this sketch for a while.  I thought about poinsettias and discovered one of the other girls had made a card with poinsettias and since Thanksgiving is over I am moving away from fall cards.  Then I saw a sunflower cut in half already sitting on my desk.  I knew that would work perfectly!  I went with a lot of white on this card.  Maybe a little too much white but we're going to roll with it for now!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Copper Foil, Hammermill White
Ink: Crushed Curry
Other: Stitched Squares, Lovely Layers Sunflowers (Honey Bee Stamps), Be Bold Sentiments (Spellbinders), Copper Foil (Spellbinders), Glimmer Hot Foil Machine (Spellbinders), Rhinestones (Honey Bee Stamps)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you will head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week!  We'd love to see what you create!  If you need some inspiration, the Design Team has cooked up some amazing cards for you!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #543

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're all having a great start to your week!  We started our week off very cold and actually needed to turn our heat on!   This is definitely not something I'm used to!  We haven't used our air conditioning once yet!  When we lived in Southern Ontario, our air would go on mid-late May and stay on basically until October!  I'm being told this is an unusually cold summer and has to do with the late snow melt in the mountains but let's just say I'm not super impressed!  I could use a few nice, warm days!

We've got a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our favourite French designer Cecile Ribon!  Cecile always designs the most unique and beautiful cards!  Please head over to her blog and check them out!

This sketch might have stumped me a bit.  I had an idea of what I wanted to do but when I tried it, it just didn't look right.  I opted to try the Orchid Oasis from this year's SU In Colours and that seemed to work better!  This really is a gorgeous colour!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Orchid Oasis, Champagne Foil
DSP: In Colour 6X6 DSP Assortment
Other: Bitty Buzzwords Honey Cuts (Honey Bee Stamps), Lovely Layers Greenery Honey Cuts (Honey Bee Stamps), Sequins, Stitched Squares (Lil Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I do hope you'll haul out your crafting supplies and join our challenge this week!  At least please stop by the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the cards that the Design Team have crafted for your inspiration!

I hope you have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #240

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope your week has started well!  I am in full camp prep mode here and am cutting up a storm getting projects ready for our 40 campers my friend Julie and I will have in our elective.  Our camp will have about 800 kids but thankfully we only have 40 who have chosen to spend their morning or afternoon with us!  We have about 20+ projects to get ready and have only a month left!

We have a new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches and I have the privilege of being this week's hostess!  Such stress!  It's always hard to come up with a sketch and you'll never know how it will go over!
I needed a birthday card this week so I decided to use some of the Cherry On Top DSP stack to create this card!  I decided to use a ballon too!  I used some silver ink to put the little stars on the balloon.  Unfortunately they don't really show up in the photo!  I added a little sequin tail and called it a day!

Supplies;
Cardstock: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
DSP: Cherry on Top DSP Stack
Stamps: Celebrate Today
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Stazon Black, Silver
Other: Balloon Framelits, Bermuda Bay Sequins, Stitched Square Dies (Lil' Inkers), White Baker's Twine, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll pop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out what the Design Team has created for your inspiration!  I can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #212

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Not only is it Wednesday but also Remembrance Day.  I am so thankful for all the men and women who sacrificed their comfort, safety and their lives for my freedom.  I am thankful for a grandfather who was willing to go to war not knowing if he would return.  I am thankful for his safe return (without it, I wouldn't be here!).  I am thankful for the men and women who currently serve in our Armed Forces and protect not only our country but fight for the freedom of those around the world who cannot do it on their own.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

We have a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our amazing hostess this week is Narelle Farrugia.  Narelle is one of the most talented card makers around!  Her cards are absolutely beautiful!  Make sure you check out her blog!
This sketch is so versatile.  I thought at first I'd do a Christmas card.  I think I even told my dad that's what I was going to make!  Ha!  I didn't even try and plan out a Christmas card.  I saw this DSP sitting in the disaster on my desk and loved it so much I needed to try it out!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Calypso Coral
DSP: Pretty Petals DSP Stack
Stamps: Apothecary Accents
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Stitched Square Dies (Lil' Inkers), Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Sequins

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a chance to check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog and see the amazing cards the girls have created for you!  You will love them!  Also, don't forget to take time today to be thankful for your freedom and for those that fought for it!

Have a wonderful day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Celebrate

Hello!
Happy Sunday!  It's a beautiful day here, a little cool but that's okay.  It's starting to feel a bit more fall'ish around here!  I may have gotten out some of my fall decorations yesterday!  I LOVE pumpkins (especially stuffed ones) and I couldn't wait to have them sitting out!  Don't get me wrong, I like them now but give me a few weeks and I'll be wanting to put them away again!  Thankfully Canadian Thanksgiving is early!

I made this card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  I must admit that I did find the sketch tricky and I'm not happy with my card!   Some people can create such beautiful cards with "randomly placed" elements.  I cannot.

I decided to use my Dot Spot stamp set from PTI.  I love that set and don't use it nearly as much as I should.  It's so fun to play with.  I love Bermuda Bay and Pool Party together.  They just strike me as happy colours!  I hadn't used my Natural Elements Sayings yet so I wanted to try those out as well!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay
Stamps: Dot Spot
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits, Stitched Squares (Lil Inkers), Bermuda Bay Sequins, Natural Elements Sayings, Dimensionals.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #202

Hello!
I hope you're having a great week!  To my American friends, I hope your kids have enjoyed their first week back at school!  Our school board doesn't start until next Tuesday which is fantastic!  I don't mind having another week without the hectic schedule of school!  The boys aren't complaining either!

We have another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our incredible hostess is Amy O'Neill!  She creates such beautiful cards!  I love all of the amazing colour combinations she comes up with!

Amy's sketch this week is so versatile.  I love that it can be used for pretty much anything.  I needed to make a birthday card for my dad (his birthday is the day after Jacob's).  I decided I would start with Amy's sketch and see where I ended up.  I used the Double Banner Garland Die and Circle Garland Die along with some fun Stitched Rectangles and Squares.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver
Stamps: In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), In , Stitched Squares (Lil' Inkers), Double Banner Garland Die (Reverse Confetti), Circle Garland Die (Reverse Confetti), Dimensionals, Silver Bling (not sure where I got this one!).

Thanks again so much for stopping in for a visit.  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see all the amazing cards the Design Team has come up with to inspire you!

Have a wonderful week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #197

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I must say we've been having a good week so far!  We've had some beautiful but super hot weather.  Okay, not Texas hot but Canada hot!  We have been enjoying the pool a lot this week but even the pool is really warm and we're having trouble getting it to cool off!  First world problems!  I must apologize for the lack of post last week.  My laptop died on me.  Just up and died.  By the time Apple was finally able to revive it, it was too late to post.  Thankfully it seems to be working fine now!

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  I happen to be fortunate enough to be the hostess.  I get very nervous when I'm the hostess!  I'm also afraid people won't like my sketch!  I do love simple sketches and ones with lots of open background!  I kept this one extra simple!

Of course I love butterflies and a good black and white card is right up my alley so once combined I'm really happy!  I'm not overly excited with the sentiment I chose but that particular stamp was sitting on my desk and I grabbed it!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamps: Sentiment Flags (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Butterfly Thinlits, Basic Rhinestones, Double Stitched Squares (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you will head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog to see the beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you.  They are a talented bunch of gals I tell you!

As a reminder, we are a few weeks away from our 200th Sketch Challenge and you won't want to miss out on that one!  We have several sponsors on board to help us celebrate!  We hope you will join us too!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #189

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We had a great weekend.  My parents came down for a visit and my mom so willingly helped me with my camp preparations.  She tied man, many little knots for me!  I am very grateful of her willingness to do such a fiddly job for me!  I'm one step closer to being finished my projects for camp!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today!  Our hostess is the amazing Narelle Farrugia.  Narelle is the queen of beautiful layers, fussy cut flowers and overall fabulous cards!  You need to check out her blog!

See that giant circle in there?  It didn't phase me once!  Of course my card is almost entirely white.  I have some strange obsession with white and big white spaces.  I threw some melon mambo in there but I must admit that I originally had it ALL white!  I wanted to keep it simple.  I like simple.   I think I'm just losing all form of creativity to be honest!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Stamps: Endless Birthday Wishes
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Stitched Rectangles, Stitched Tags, Double Stitched Circles, Stitched Squares (all Lil' Inkers), Circle Garland Confetti Cut (Reverse Confetti), Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones.

Thanks so much for stopping in today!

Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog.  Our design team has created some amazing cards for you to see!

Have a fabulous day!
