CAS(E) This Sketch Flower Power

Good Morning!
I totally forgot to get this post up last night!  With the kids being gone I lose all attention to what day it is and when things need to happen!  It's good and bad all at the same time!  We will be meeting my parents today and will bring the boys back home much to the dismay of my oldest who wants to stay with Grannie and Papa for another two weeks!  I love how much he loves being with them.

I wanted to play along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge before the kids came home and craft room time becomes non-existent!  I decided I would take a liberal approach to the sketch.  I hope that's okay!

I didn't really have a swirly stamp so I opted for the flower from Blooming with Kindness (SU).  I decided that a single colour just wouldn't do it so I went with a double colour flower!  I used some stamps from Tim Holtz's crazy birds, threw on some bling and called it a day!  Shockingly this one didn't take me too long - which was nice for a change.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Blooming with Kindness, Crazy Birds (Tim Holtz - From Michaels)
Ink: Black Stazon, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
Other: Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches #90

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great week!  It's been a busy one around here!  I've been doing a lot of last minute volunteering "stuff" at the school as well as quite a few family activities so I haven't been in my craft room at all!  My first order from the new catalogue arrived and I've opened the box....nothing has even made it out of the box!  That must be a crime right?!

We have another new and fabulous sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  The lovely Linda Callahan has a great sketch for us today!   I needed a birthday card this week and have been dying to use the Elegant Eggplant/Perfect Plum combination!  I love the flower from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set and thought it would work perfectly in that giant centre square!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant
Stamps: Blooming with Kindness, Occasional Quotes
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Other: Beautifully Baroque Textured Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals

Last Friday my little cuties and I headed over to the Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton!  It's a favourite!  The boys were so excited to sit in this plane.  It apparently has two ejector seats...Caleb couldn't find the button though!  Jacob brought his Kindergarten class mascot with us...Kinderpup!  We almost left him there!!!

Retro Birthday Wishes

Hello!
I hope everyone made it through Wednesday!  I just got in from bootcamp and man I'm feeling it good tonight!  Our instructor, Tania, tried to kill us tonight!  I am exhausted but not looking forward to the walk from the basement to the second floor to bed!!!

I had a few minutes the other day while Jacob was napping and Caleb was at school so I quickly whipped up a card for the Retro Sketches challenge this week!  I love this challenge but don't get to play as often as I'd like!  Lori has a great sketch this week!

I opted for a slightly distressed look this week.  You can't see it as much in the photo...honestly it's there!  I love my sanding tool from Stampin' Up!  It's right up there with my distressing tool!!!   I'm still not sure I'm sold on the Summer Starfruit but it does look great with the Midnight Muse!  The sentiment from Blooming with Kindness fit perfectly in one of the Apothecary Accents dies!  I was very excited!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla
DSP: Tea for Two
Stamps: Blooming with Kindness, Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Summer Starfruit
Other: Bitty Butterfly Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Linen Thread, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, In Colour Dahlias, Sanding Tool, Basic Pearls

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!  I'll be back tomorrow with the Easter cards I made for the boys teachers!

Just for You!

Hello!
Hope you had a great weekend!  We had a much quieter weekend which was very nice!  I got my baby shower invitations done (yay!) and I was even able to get some scrapbooking done.  I'm no where near caught up but that's okay!

I decided to tackle the Paper Players and Dynamic Duos Challenges today with one card!  I loved the colours challenge this week at Dynamic Duos! Soft Suede and Crumb cake have got to be my favourite colours!  Pair those up with Very Vanilla and I'm in heaven!

I really loved the sketch at the Paper Players.  I had trouble with the circle and finally decided to just cut out the flower from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set.  It took me a few tries with the butterflies until I was happy with them.  I added a little clear embossing powder to get them to look a bit darker!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Booming with Kindness, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Versamark
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #57

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I'm looking forward to what today brings!  I am going to be having a visit with a friend this morning and spending time with Jacob!  Hopefully I'll even get a card or two done in the afternoon at nap time!!!

Wednesday also brings us a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week our sketch is brought to us by the extremely talented LeAnne Pugliese!  I have been following LeAnne for a few years now and I love her cards!  We are so honoured to have her working with us this month!

LeAnne's sketch is great!  It is so versatile!  You can turn this sketch into anything!  I'm going through a soft suede/very vanilla stage right now.  I just want to make every card in those colours!!!  My mom gave me an early birthday present on the weekend while they were here visiting....the "Blooming with Kindness" stamp set!  Yeah!  I love it!!!  I was so excited and couldn't wait to start using it!

I cut the the flower out twice and mounted them both with dimensionals (one right on top of the other) just to give the card a bit more flare!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
DSP: Comfort Cafe
Stamps: Blooming with Kindness
Ink: Soft Suede, Versamark
Other: Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Basic Pearls, Twine, Stripes Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  Head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the other fabulous cards our design team has come up with!

Have a stupendous day!
