Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #132

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  We here in Ontario were some shocked to wake up to snow this morning!  Let's just say no one in our house was impressed...least of all me!  The winter stuff had been washed and was waiting to be put away.  The kids came home muddy and messy so all the winter stuff was washed again because they'll need it tomorrow!!!  Oh the joys of winter/spring!

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  I am so honoured to be this week's hostess!  I sure love being part of this great team of ladies!  It's fun to create sketches and to see the beautiful cards you come up with!
I saw the great colours at Dynamic Duos this week and decided that they would work perfectly for an Easter card!   Who doesn't love these two colours together!

Unfortunately the picture didn't turn out as well as expected.  We don't always get the best lighting in our house and I haven't purchased a light box yet...

As I'm staring at this card I am thinking about the time before I actually owned a corner rounder.  I used to use a nickel and trace it and then cut the corners!  Boy how times have changed!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Wisteria Wonder
Other: Daisy Die, Basic Rhinestones, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Modern Mosaic Textured Embossing Folder, Bakers Twine, Vintage Faceted Buttons, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the fabulous cards the Clean Team has come up with!  You won't be disappointed!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #110

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  It's been a good week so far! I can't believe that Halloween is tomorrow!  Our pumpkins are carved and ready to go!  Batman and Robin are super excited to get suited up for their big night out!  The weather here is calling for rain...lots of rain but warmer temperatures which is not the greatest but I would rather a warm rain than a cold rain!

We have a new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Rita Wright is our fabulous hostess this week! Head on over to her blog and check out her recent creations!

I really liked Rita's sketch!  I am actually thinking I'll make some Christmas cards using this sketch but I needed a thank you card for a friend of mine and her daughter!  I recently acquired my first "Rainbow Loom" bracelet and feel that a thank you card is required for its 7 year old creator!

I do love hexagons and Caitlin's favourite colours is purple so I decided to mix the two together!  I combined the colours from this week's Dynamic Duos challenge sine they were just perfect!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Stamps: Six Sided Sampler
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum
Other: Hexagon Embossing Folder, Hexagon Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the fabulous cards the design team has created for you!

Hope you  have a great week!

Freshly Made Sketches #93

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  Having a holiday long weekend sure is making this week fly by!  Caleb is attending a Karate camp every morning this week and Jacob is at my parents for the week.  He is having the time of his life.  This is his first time away from mom for more than 2 days!  You aren't going to be seeing too many cards from me for the next two weeks.  I am elbow deep in preparations for our church's summer camp next week.  A friend and I are running the Card Making Elective...needless to say I'm trying to prepare cards and other projects for 30 very excitable kids every day!

So...enough about me!  Alissa Chilton (don't you just LOVE her cards?!) has created a fabulous sketch for us over at Freshly Made Sketches.  I found it a lot trickier than I thought I would.  That square was hard to work with.  I don't have a lot of stamp sets that work in squares so I had to make something work!

I really do love the new Cycle Celebrations.  I couldn't wait to use this cute little bike.  I discovered that it fit perfectly in this square.  I decided to emboss it in silver so it stood out on the DSP.
I decided to combine this week's sketch with this weeks' Dynamic Duo challenge.  The colour challenge this week was Basic Grey and a colour of my choice - Daffodil Delight!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
DSP: Quatrefancy Specialty DSP
Stamps: Cycle Celebrations
Ink: Basic Grey, Versamark
Other: Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by this week!  I hope you have a great day!  Please take a moment to check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the beautiful cards the design team has created for you!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #85

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I love Wednesday's!  This week seems to have gone really slowly for some reason.  We have had some beautiful weather this week though!  I must have gotten a little too much sun at lunch with the kindergartners today!  My neck is a bit pink!  We weren't even out there that long!

So we have a fabulous new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week's sketch comes from the uber talented Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle is the queen of fabulous layers on her cards!!!  This weeks' sketch threw me - even more than last week's!  I wasn't sure what to do!
I decided to use my Quint-Essential Flower stamp!  I do love this stamp and what you can do with it.  I then combined it with this week's Dynamic Duos colours!  Who doesn't love Daffodil Delight and Baja Breeze!  I am still quite upset that this beautiful colour will be retiring...

I used the brand new A Round Array stamp set.  I do love it!  The centre of the Quint-Essential stamp isn't another scalloped circle but I thought this would work well for what I needed!  I must say this cute new stamp set is very fun!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
DSP: Daffodil Delight Brights DSP
Stamps: Quint-Essential Flower, A Round Array
Ink: Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Dimensionals, Scalloped Circle Punches, 1" Circle Punch

Get well!

Hello
Hope you had a great day!  I am feeling a little tired tonight!  I am glad we are nearing the end of the week!  Jacob and I had a great day at home today.  He is slowly getting better at his reading so we were working on that this morning.  What a privilege to be able to teach a child to read....something we probably take advantage of far to often!

Today's card is for my aunt.  She has been really sick for a while now and I think a card might cheer her up.  I decided to use the Fab Friday sketch as a starting point.  I combined that with the Dynamic Duos Colour challenge this week.   This week's colours are Primrose Petals and then a colour of your choice...I picked Summer Starfruit.

I realize now looking at this that my flag is a little too wide.  I guess it's a little too late to change that now!  I love the Tea for Two stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  Who doesn't love a good tea pot stamp!  I used the coordinating die as well!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Primrose Petals
DSP: Tea for Two (Papertrey Ink)
Stamps: Tea for Two
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Honeycomb Embossing Folder,  Tea for Two Die (Papertrey Ink), Basic Pearls, Sanding Block, Distressing Tool, Dimesionals

Just for You!

Hello!
Hope you had a great weekend!  We had a much quieter weekend which was very nice!  I got my baby shower invitations done (yay!) and I was even able to get some scrapbooking done.  I'm no where near caught up but that's okay!

I decided to tackle the Paper Players and Dynamic Duos Challenges today with one card!  I loved the colours challenge this week at Dynamic Duos! Soft Suede and Crumb cake have got to be my favourite colours!  Pair those up with Very Vanilla and I'm in heaven!

I really loved the sketch at the Paper Players.  I had trouble with the circle and finally decided to just cut out the flower from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set.  It took me a few tries with the butterflies until I was happy with them.  I added a little clear embossing powder to get them to look a bit darker!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Booming with Kindness, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Versamark
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals

Blue and Silver Snowflake

Hello!
It's the end of another day...I must say I'm a little tired today.  It was a busy day.  I wanted to try and get another Christmas card done...I'm still nowhere near my goal which saddens me greatly.  I think some people may not get hand made cards this year...I hope they aren't offended but I'm not sure how many more I can turn out this week!!!

I wanted to combine the Dynamic Duos and Fab Friday challenges!  I love Midnight Muse and I love silver so this week's Dynamic Duos colour challenge was perfect for me!  Inspiring actually!!!  I then threw those colours into the Fab Friday sketch and voila!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Silver Glimmer
Stamps: Bright Hopes
Ink: Midnight Muse
Other: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Snowflake Punch

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!

Dynamic Christmas Card

Hello!
Happy Remembrance Day!  Today is a great day to stop and remember.  To stop and be thankful for our freedom and the cost at which it came.  I am thankful for my Grandpa who fought for our country in the second world war.  I am thankful for the thousands of men and women who currently serve for our freedom world wide.  I thank the families who allow their loved ones to serve with honour.  Please take a moment today to be thankful and remember.

Today's card is for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.  I am ashamed to say that I do not own anything Sahara Sand.  How is that even possible?  Especially for a Demonstrator?  Shameful I know.  I had to substitute Crumb Cake for the Sahara Sand.  I love the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set.  It has to be one of my favourite sets from the Holiday catalogue - especially with those coordinating dies!   I stamped the longer ornament on Crumb Cake using Versamark then used clear embossing powder so the ornament looks a bit darker.  Another shameful confession...I just discovered that there was very vanilla seam binding!  How on earth did I miss that one?  Now that I have it...I can't stop using it!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, Petite Pairs (Sentiment)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Holiday Ornament Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Quint-Essential Flower Card

Hello!
I hope everyone who went out Trick or Treating had a great time!  My little boys got a little wet but they seemed to enjoy themselves.  Jacob went about half way around our block before he announced he was done and had enough candy!  How can he have enough candy?!  Does he not know that Mommy needs her share too?!  Thankfully they're not really candy addicts so I'm good to go on getting my fix!

I had a few minutes to get a card done this afternoon.  I decided to combine two challenges - the Dynamic Duos (More Mustard and So Saffron) and the Paper Players sketch challenge.   I love More Mustard and So Saffron together!  They are probably two of my favourite monochromatic colours!  I decided to use the Quint-Essential Flower stamp for this card.  I love this stamp!  It's so easy to change each layer to be the colour you want!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, More Mustard, So Saffron
DSP: First Edition
Stamps: Quint-Essential Flower, Create a Cupcake
Ink: More Mustard, So Saffron, Basic Black
Other: Scalloped Circle Punches, Circle Punches, Bitty Banner Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Caleb was so proud of his costume tonight.  He loved being a yellow Lego block!  Thank you Daddy for doing such a fabulous on his costume!

Dynamic Duos Halloween

Hello!
Thanksgiving weekend is over here in Canada.  I am stuffed full of turkey, turnips and pumpkin pie!  We had a delicious dinner on Saturday night and have eaten leftovers ever since!  I'm so sad that we will now have to wait until Christmas to have more!

I did a card up for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.   This week's colour combination is Tangerine Tango and Old Olive.  When I see these colours I immediately think to Halloween.  I didn't want to do a traditional Halloween card though.  I have been wanting to try out paper rosettes!  I used the First Edition paper for this since it still happened to be sitting on my craft table!!!  Add in some ruffled satin ribbon, a few bats and voila!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Old Olive
DSP: Howlstooth and Scaringbone, First Edition
Stamps: Googly Ghouls
Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits, Black Satin Ribbon, Old Olive Button, Circle Punch, Thread, Chevron Embossing Folder, Glue Gun, Dimensionals

I decided to take some family pictures this week!  Thankfully everyone stayed still long enough to get this shot!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great Monday!

More Butterflies!

Hello!
Happy Thursday!  I'm not used to posting cards in the middle of the day!  This is going to be a quick one because I need to down my tea and head into the school for pizza day lunch supervision then a volunteering session in Jacob's class.

I really wanted to give the Dynamic Duos challenge a go this week.  With my crazy new schedule I don't have a lot of time to craft but decided I could kill two birds with one stone in this card and incorporated the sketch from The Fab Friday challenge!  Two fantastic sites!  Love the new Fab Friday challenge!

The DD challenge this week was Cherry Cobbler and our choice - I chose black!  I love black!  Too much actually!  I decided to get out the First Edition DSP since I hadn't used it in a while and thought it would be a great background.  Since the Papillon Potpourri was already out from Wednesday's card I decided to use it again!  I cut out the label using the "Apothecary Accents" framelits then cut another two out in black and pieced them together to make the Vanilla one look framed.  I decided not to put a sentiment on this card so I can personalize it as need be.   Thought it could be used as pretty much an "anything" kind of card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP: First Edition
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Sanding block, Apothecary Accents Framelit, Basic Pearls, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals

Have a great day!

Dynamic Duos Halloween

Hello!
How did it get to be Monday already?!  The weekend went by way too fast!  I have decided to start running again...my body is protesting significantly.  My age is starting to show I think!!!

Okay so today's card is for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge!  This week's colours are Lucky Limeade and Basic Black with a dessert option of a Halloween theme!  I am not a big fan of Halloween cards but need a few to send to my boys...or leave at the breakfast table!!!  I really do love the Googly Ghouls stamp set.  Those little ghouls are so cute - especially once you add those googly eyes!   I embossed the card after I glued the lucky limeade and basic black pieces on the card.  I love embossing way too much!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Stamps: Googly Ghouls
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Chevron Textured Embossing Folder, Lucky Limade Brads, Bitty Banners Framelites, Circle Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Googly Eyes, Dimensionals

Here's the little wall hanging I made for my neighbour Owen.  It is totally from Pinterest...check out the link here!

Dynamic Duos Flowers

Hello!
How's your week going?  I just did another night of boot camp and I'm feeling the burn...oh and I'm seriously tired!
Today the boys had swimming lessons and my youngest who has never been a lover of the pool decided that going underwater, floating and trying to swim was fantastic so he spent more time under the water than on top!  This a HUGE step for this little guy.  I am one happy mom tonight!

Okay so I "whipped" up a card for the Dynamic Duos challenge this week.  Okay it wasn't whipping...it took me forever since I had helpers!!!

The Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink combo threw me for a bit of a loop since I'm not a subtles personality girl BUT once I added in some black I felt a bit better!  Okay I ruffled my ribbon again...I love ruffled ribbon.  I just can't help it!  I used some SU pink rhinestones that I had left in my stash!  I kinda think I need to add a button...or something...

Supplies:
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black. Whisper White, Certainly Celery
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners, Mixed Bunch
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery
Other: Rhinestones, Two Step Bird Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits, Certainly Celery Ribbon, Lady Brocade Embossing Folder

Thanks for stopping by!
Have an amazing day!

That Little Jar...again!!!

Hello!
Well, we survived Monday!  I wasn't feeling very good yesterday and was pretty much down for the count all day.  I am SO thankful I was at my mom and dad's for most of yesterday and my mom let me sleep in the afternoon and made all the meals for my boys.  My parents are so good to me!  What would I do without them?  Today I feel MUCH better!  My mom and I took the boys to the beach this morning for a bit (picture below).  The water here is very low due to a severe drought so there wasn't much water in the Ottawa River for them to have fun in...at least the marked off swimming area but they still managed to have fun!

Okay...I used the jar again.  I can't help myself...I LOVE it!  I am not using it for my Freshly Made Sketches card this week though...I promise!  Today's card is for the Dynamic Duos and Create with Connie and Marie challenges.  I needed to kill two birds with one stone today!  I love Early Espresso and Crumb Cake!  They have to be my favourites!  The new Early Espresso Core'dinations cardstock has to be one of my favourites.  I didn't have an SU sanding block handy but my mom did happen to have some sandpaper in her craft room today!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
DSP: Natural Composition Specialty
Stamps: Perfectly Preserved
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Other: Cannery Set Framelits Dies, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Early Espresso Ribbon, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, Dimensionals, Basic Pearls

Bathing Beauties!

Caleb and my mom are planning an Olympic party to have later this week.  Today Caleb decided he wanted to make flags for different countries for decoration for this party.  So this afternoon he and my mom made all 13 of these cute flags.  I thought he'd maybe sit through 2 but he did all 13.  She cut the paper and he glued it all together!  It was so sweet!  I can't wait for the party on Thursday!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Dynamic Mojo!

Hello!
I'm still at my mom and dad's house and enjoying being spoiled!  Jacob had a rough day today...he wasn't feeling well.  Not sure what happened there but he seems to be better now!  No pictures of the groundhog today.  She came out first thing this morning but my camera wasn't quite ready and when she came out later tonight my camera wasn't (and still isn't) working :(  Tomorrow we're heading to the Bonnechere Caves!  The boys have never been so I'm sure they'll be pumped!

I love being at my mom's house because she also has a wonderful stash of craft supplies and better yet...she has poppy parade ink AND the matching ribbon which I needed for today's card!!!

This week's Dynamic Duos challenge is to create a card using Poppy Parade, Basic Black AND use a punch!  I decided to combine this challenge with the Mojo Monday challenge.  I needed a good sketch to work from!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Stop back on Wednesday morning for this week's Freshly Made Sketches card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Poppy Parade
Stamps: Betsy's Blossoms, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black. Poppy Parade, Versamark
Other: Poppy Parade Ribbon, Fancy Fan Textured Embossing Folder, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Black Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Welcome Baby Girl!

Hello!
Sorry that I've been MIA!  It's been a crazy long week!  Our kid's camp at church is over now.  We had a great week and my boys had a blast.  They're sad there isn't another week of camp!

So a friend of mine announced this weekend that she is pregnant with her 5th bundle of joy.  Now, she has 4 beautiful boys and are expecting a precious bundle wrapped in a pink bow!  I am very excited for them!  Now my friend is a fabulous mom and is totally into her boys.  I know she will be getting lots of cards with pink but as a mom of boys the pink thing doesn't necessarily come naturally!  I wanted to break her in easy!!!!

I decided to try out the Dynamic Duos challenge along with the Sunday Stamps challenge this week.  The colour combo for Dynamic Duos was perfect for the card!  I decided to add 4 blue flowers for the four boys and one little pink flower for the family's soon to be princess!

I hopefully will be back tomorrow with another card!  I'm in the middle of filling a few card orders so it will be a bit busy BUT I will give it my best shot!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette
DSP: Elegant Soiree (Retired)
Stamps: Perfectly Preserved, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake
Other: Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, Cannery Set Framelits Dies, Dimensionals, Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies

Mambo Birthday

Hello!
Did you survive your Monday!  Tuesday already!  Seems impossible.  Okay so I mentioned a few days ago that I had some professional pictures taken by a friend of mine (including makeup and hair)...I got a peek at them today...here's a link to the blog if you want to see too....Heidi is awesome!  I'm sure photoshop is awesome too!  It was sure a fun experience and I can't wait to see what new opportunities Heidi will offer for mom's to get glamed up and have their pictures taken!

I decided to tackle the Dynamic Duos and The Paper Players challenges this weekend.  I know I'll be needing a card for a special little girl who's turning 5 very shortly!  Her mom is expecting her 4th baby very shortly and I want to make sure she has the perfect card for her daughter who wants a princess birthday party!

I love the Melon Mambo and Basic Black colour options!  They make me very happy!  A dessert choice of ribbon!  I should have had a second helping!!!  The black ribbon is hard to see.  I tried Melon Mambo and it looked funny so I decided to stick with black.

The Paper Players challenge was basically to take one of your favourite challenge from the past 100 challenges and make a card.  I have only played this challenge once (I think) so I decided to just pick a sketch that I really liked and work with it.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Stamps: Dress Up, Voeux Mignon,
Ink: Basic Black, Melon Mambo
Other:  Basic Rhinestones, Curly Label Punch, Adorning Accents Folders, Argyle Embossing Folder, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!
