CAS(E) This Sketch Birthday!

Hello!
I've been neglecting this blog lately haven't I?!  I'm so sorry!  I am going to try and get a few extra cards made this week if I can!  There has been a request made by my 6 year old to have a craft day on Friday during his PA day!  Should be good times!

I saw this week's sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch and knew I had to create a card!  I love their clean and simple sketches!  I fully believe that sometimes less is more!

I knew I wanted a butterfly on my card and I using Papillon Potpourri to create the perfect butterfly in a myriad of different colours/textures and I couldn't get one to work.  Sigh....Needless to say I found a scrap of textured Melon Mambo in my scrap bin and decided it would make a fabulous butterfly - with some bling of course!  I used black embossing powder on the flower to make sure that it was really black!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Stamps: Betsy's Blossoms
Ink: Melon Mambo, Versamark
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Elegant Butterfly Punch

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!!!

Dynamic Mojo!

Hello!
I'm still at my mom and dad's house and enjoying being spoiled!  Jacob had a rough day today...he wasn't feeling well.  Not sure what happened there but he seems to be better now!  No pictures of the groundhog today.  She came out first thing this morning but my camera wasn't quite ready and when she came out later tonight my camera wasn't (and still isn't) working :(  Tomorrow we're heading to the Bonnechere Caves!  The boys have never been so I'm sure they'll be pumped!

I love being at my mom's house because she also has a wonderful stash of craft supplies and better yet...she has poppy parade ink AND the matching ribbon which I needed for today's card!!!

This week's Dynamic Duos challenge is to create a card using Poppy Parade, Basic Black AND use a punch!  I decided to combine this challenge with the Mojo Monday challenge.  I needed a good sketch to work from!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Stop back on Wednesday morning for this week's Freshly Made Sketches card!

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Poppy Parade

Sunday Stamps Challenge

Hello!
Happy Sunday!  Today is exciting for THREE reasons!!!
1. It's Canada Day!!!  Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians out there!
2. It's Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue Pre-order day!!!
3. I have been asked to be a guest designer (for today) for Sunday Stamps!  I am so excited!  What an honour!  Design Team for is new for me so I am loving every opportunity I get!

Holly had a great sketch today!  I couldn't wait to get started and couldn't wait to crack open the Raspberry Ripple Ink!  I totally LOVE that colour!  Okay, I think I love a lot of colours!

I wanted to use Betsy's Blossoms again!  I really like that stamp set and have seen some fabulous cards done with it.  I tried stamping my bird in basic gray but it didn't look right so I decided to emboss the bird in silver.  I got to try out my new Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack which I must say is so much fun! I can't wait to use it more!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple
Stamps: Betsy's Blossoms, Lacy and Lovely (sentiment)
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Versamark
Other: Adorning Accents Textured Embossing Folder, Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Adorning Accents Edgelits Die, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Silver Embossing Powder, Raspberry Ripple Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by!  Hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow to get back into my craft room!

Dynamic Duos and my Turtle card

 Hello!
We survived Monday!  My husband is on vacation this week and is just staying home and getting some odd jobs done.  I was able to take my oldest son Caleb out on a date today!  It was super fun to be out with him.  He and I don't get much alone time together since we usually have his little brother with us!  He sure is a sweetheart!

I tackled the Dynamic Duos challenge this week!  I must say I do enjoy challenges!   I may need a calendar just to keep track of them all though!!!  I don't think there are enough days in the week to do them all!

The challenge this week was to create a card using the Bold and Sassy colours the Design Team chose - Real Red and Island Indigo!  I would never have put those two colours together but they did and I think they look just fine together!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Island Indigo, Real Red
DSP: Summer Smooches
Stamps: Betsy's Blossoms, My Friend
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, Island Indigo
Other: Basic Rhinestones

Okay...so yesterday was one of my best friend's birthday...her and I have known each other since Grade 6.  She works with endangered species and LOVES turtles so I decided I would try and tackle the CAS-ual Fridays challenge (using glitter and bling) to make a card for her.  I attempted to use the Pond Life stamp set to create a cute turtle and dragonfly but in the end I swear it looks like my son made it!  Now, he loves his Auntie and probably would be proud to say he made it...BUT I may need to start over!
Anyhow, I thought I'd post it to say that all card makers have cards that don't turn out exactly as they had planned...but I'm sure my dear friend will know I love her and tried hard to make her a turtle card!!!
