Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #266
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week and your Christmas preparations are going well. I'm slowly trying to get some gift wrapping done. I had some "help" from our kitten with the wrapping and I'm thinking she may be as bad as having a toddler! I guess it will get done soon enough!!!
We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches. Our hostess this week is the one and only Amy O'Neill! Amy is our resident colour expert and makes such amazing and creative projects!
I needed to make a baby card - well a twins card for a friend of mine who's wife recently had two beautiful little girls! Now, this card may change between now and when I give it to them! I am not totally happy with the background! I really should have either used some texture or some different paper. I was a little frustrated when I made the card and decided that it would be better to have a card finished than to not have one finished!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Basic Grey, Pink Glimmer (Recollections)
Stamps: Something for Baby, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Smokey Slate, Pink Pirouette
Other: Baby's First Framelits, Botanical Builders Framelits, Basic Pearls, Bitty Banner Framelits, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created or you!
Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #263
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! Can you believe we're midway through November already?! How does that happen?! I hope you've started your Christmas shopping. I've slowly started mine and am trying to get things now before the shelves get emptied and picked over! Sometimes it's easier said than done though!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today. Our hostess this week if our fabulous French designer Cecile Ribon! Cecile makes beautiful cards and you need to head over to her blog to check out those gorgeous creations!
Now, I need three cards this week. It's already Wednesday and only one is done. I'm doing really well! This is the first card I need so thankfully it's done. I'm part of a bootcamp "group". We have class every Wednesday and sometimes on Sunday mornings. One of the girls in our group is having her last chemo treatment tomorrow. She has made it to bootcamp almost every week since her diagnosis. We are so proud of her and amazed by her strength. We have a little surprise for her tomorrow to congratulate her on this accomplishment!
This sketch did stump me. It wasn't even the circles, it was that bottom panel. I won't tell you how many "draft" versions are sitting on my desk. The creativity sure hasn't been flowing lately.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Smokey Slate, Whisper White
DSP: A Little Foxy DSP Stack
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Versamark
Other: Bitty Banners Dies, Botanical Builders Dies, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Wink of Stella, Basic Rhinestones, Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out all the fabulous cards the Design Team has created for you!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #139
Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Can you believe it's Wednesday?! This week actually feels like it's going rather slow around here for some reason. It has been a nice week so far though and we've been enjoying some super warm weather! The boys have been loving being able to go in the pool! It's supposed to cool off tomorrow for a bit which will be nice!
We have a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of the super creative Rita Wright! When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought that I should get a start on the end of the year Teacher cards and then I thought I should make my parents their 40th anniversary card but I ended up hauling out the Open Sea stamp set....which doesn't work for either of those cards!
I love the Open Sea! It is so perfect for masculine cards and I must apologize to those men in my life who receive more than one card made using this set!
I went with Midnight Muse (I miss this colour soooooo much!), Cherry Cobbler, some Crumb Cake and a touch of Early Espresso! I originally hadn't embossed the tag but it looked like it was missing something so I got out my Arrows Textured Embossing Folder and added a bit of texture!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Open Sea, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Early Espresso, Midnight Muse
Other: Arrows Textured Embossing Folder, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Silver Brads, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope that you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and checked out the samples that the design team has cooked up for you! They are definitely worth the visit!
Have a fabulous day!

Welcome Baby!
Hello!
I hope you are having a great start to your week! I just got in from boot camp and am feeling rather sleepy! Writing this post is taking a lot of focus!!!
I made this card some time last week but only managed to get it upstairs to take a picture today! I'm so ashamed! I loved the sketch at Seize The Sketch this week! Such clean lines! I just had to play along!
I really do love the new Something for Baby stamp set! I also love that it has a coordinating die set! Easy Peasy! I have always wanted to do one of those wrinkled bows. My friend Jennifer Timko is making them often and they are always so beautiful! I'm not sure mine turned out the way I wanted it to! I had to add some pearls, a bit of sponging and some distressing with the Distressing Tool.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand
Stamps: Something for Baby, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Sahara Sand
Other: Baby's First Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Sponge Daubers, Distressing Tool, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by! The new Freshly Made Sketches post will also be coming up in a few hours so make sure you come back!
Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #137
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week! We had a fabulous weekend and enjoyed celebrating Caleb's birthday with my mom and dad - complete with an ice cream cake with an F-18 Hornet on top! Caleb actually turns 8 today! I can't believe that my sweet baby boy is 8 already! Where does the time go?
We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches! Jen Mitchell is our snazzy hostess this week. Her cards are absolutely amazing and if you haven't seen them before, you need to head on over there and check them out!
I did try and create my card landscape style...I really did. I just got so frustrated. I couldn't get the card to work so I rotated the sketch. I'm not usually such a rebel!
I cracked open some of my sneak peek goodies to make this card! I am not too sure how I feel about the new In Colours yet but they are growing on me! I do love the new DSP pack and how the Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss look together!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White
DSP: Moonlight DSP Stack
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Honeycomb Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
Please hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Clean Team has created for you! You won't be disappointed!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #126
Hello!
Hope you're having a great week! We have a short week as Friday is a PA Day at school and we head off on our March Break Adventures! The boys decided that we would be heading to visit my parents for the March Break! No white, sandy beaches for us!!! We will be hanging in in white, cold snowbanks!!!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of the incredibly creative Amy O'Neill. This one threw me a curve ball...let's just say the above card is card #3...the other two were disasters and I'm not in love with this one either! I am thinking I need to find my mojo!
I do love the new Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. It's super fun and adds a bit of randomness....something I am not good with! I used a flower stamp from the Secret Garden stamp set to create my layered flower! The middle and top layer of the flower are fussy cut but I actually find fussy cutting therapeutic!
The picture is a little dark but I used Midnight Muse (my absolute favourite blue) not black!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Secret Garden, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Midnight Muse, Versamark
Other: Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelites, Secret Garden Framelits, Basic Pearls, White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by! Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and get started on your card for the week! The design team has come up with some amazing cards to get your creative juices flowing!
Have a great week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #119
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week! We had a beautiful day here yesterday! The sun was shining and it was nice and warm (if somewhere around 7 degrees C is warm for you!). The ice is finally off our driveway and for that I am thankful!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our fabulous hostess this week is the talented Cindy Lovell! I do love her sketch this week! It was a challenge for me for sure but super fun to work with!
My friend Jeanette had a birthday on Monday and this was the card I made for her! Jeanette loves grey and yellow and I wanted to make a card in colours I knew she would enjoy!!! I do love grey and yellow together though too!!! The flower (from Secret Garden) is embossed in silver - it's a little hard to see in the picture!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Whisper White, So Saffron
DSP: Subtles Paper Stack (retired)
Stamps: Secret Garden, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Secret Garden Framelites, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #113
Hello!
I hope you're having a great week so far! We survived last week without Daddy around! It was actually much easier than I thought! The boys were great and we celebrated Friday night by having their favourite dinner, watching Turbo (with popcorn of course) and making bracelets on the Rainbow Loom!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week! The super talented Cindy Hall is our fabulous hostess! Cindy's sketch is so versatile and the Design Team used it in so many different ways! I love it!
You may think I've lost it because I added a snowflake to a birthday card! I didn't make a mistake!!! I was invited to a super fun snowflake 7th birthday party for my sweet friend Paige on the weekend. I was there to provide craft assistance for some ornaments the girls were making! Paige's favourite colour is purple so I wanted to be sure this card was created with her in mind!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners, Festive Flurry
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Versamark
Other: Delicate Designs Textured Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Festive Flurry Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, Heat and Stick Powder

Sweet Baby
Hello!
Hope you're having a great week so far! I love Thursdays...at least for right now I do! They're my quiet day...both boys are at school and my volunteering doesn't start until next Thursday so I really have the day to myself! That being said there is always a ton of stuff to do!!! Never a dull moment!
I loved the Paper Players sketch this week! I need a baby card for my neighbours who had a beautiful baby boy (Joshua) last week. This sketch worked for what I had in mind! Now if only I could find a sketch that worked for an anniversary card for my upcoming anniversary!!!
I think the Zoo Babies stamp set is perfect for this card! I stamped the elephant in Bashful Blue and then stamped it again in Midnight Muse and cut out his ear!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Bashful Blue
DSP: Midnight Muse DSP Paper Stack
Stamps: Zoo Babies, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Bashful Blue, Midnight Muse
Other: Bitty Banners Framelits, Argyle Textured Embossing Folder, Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Large Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Today brings us a few sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! This week's hostess is your's truly. I have been feeling highly uninspired these days. The card above is actually my third attempt at the sketch. Seriously. The first one was just so bad I didn't finish it. The second one you can see if you keep scrolling down...ugh.
I love butterflies and hadn't used my Beautiful Wings embosslit in a long time. My embosslit is so well used that it has fallen apart and my husband has graciously glued it back together for me - on multiple occasions!

Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Birthday Card!
Hello!
I hope everyone enjoyed a great Easter! We had a wonderful weekend together and thought it was quiet it was nice and relaxed! Caleb flew his first airplane on the weekend! I was so excited and nervous and then proud all at the same time! He had some help from Daddy but it was still done a lot on his own! Can you believe that?! Pictures and a link to the video are below! I'm one proud mama!!!
Today's card is a birthday card for my Mama! Her birthday is on Monday but I had to get it into the mail today so she'd get it on time. I saw the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge sketch and knew that I could use it to make the perfect card for my mom! My mom makes the most awesome cards...it's hard to make something for her because her's are always so thoughtful and personal! My mom LOVES strawberries!
I wanted to do a punch art strawberry but when doing research discovered that I didn't have all of the required punches so I had to improvise and since I am doing the CCMC challenge I needed to keep it SUO! The strawberry body is a full heart punch embossed with the perfect polka dot embossing folder. The leaves are one of the flowers from the Secret Garden Framelits. The stem is from the 2-step bird punch and the flowers are from the Boho Blossoms Punch!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Gumball Green
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Real Red
Other: 2 3/8: Scalloped Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Full Heart Punch, Secret Garden Framelits, 2-Step Bird Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Real Red Satin Ribbon, Brights Brads, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals.
Here are some pictures of my baby flying!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #77
Hello!
I hope you are having a great week so far! We are in the middle of our March Break (how can it be the middle already?!). The two boys and I have taken a little trip to visit my parents for the week! My husband is at home working...I wonder if he's enjoying the quiet?! We are having a blast here! My boys couldn't be happier!
Wednesday brings us a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! The fabulous Jennifer Timko brings us this week's sketch! This card is my second take on the sketch. The first one did not fair out so well...ugh. Sometimes I wonder about myself!!!
I finally decided on making a very blue and white card! I love blue! I was going to use midnight muse but then changed my mind and went with Night of Navy! I also love, love, love the Secret Garden stamp set and dies! Who doesn't love dies?! I embossed some flowers up in white and I was ready to go. I must thank my sweet mom who let me use ALL of her supplies! I opted out of bringing anything with me this trip!!! I'm so thankful for her!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Whisper White
DSP: Night of Navy
Stamps: Secret Garden, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Versamark
Other: White Embossing Powder, Basic Rhinestones, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Blue Twine, Ribbon Slide, Dimensionals, Bitty Banners Framelits
Two little pictures of my little boys! Caleb's job this week is to help Papa with wood. Papa loads the wheelbarrow and brings the wood to the door...Caleb then hands it all to Papa! He's been a great help and done it so willingly!
Monster truck driving is always a favourite activity around here! Each of the boys has a truck to drive and they are CRAZY! The snowbanks are a bit of an issue but they are slowly learning!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Please check out the Freshly Made Sketches website to see the fabulous card the design team has created for you!
Have a great week!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #75
Hello and Happy Wednesday!
We are anticipating that the day will bring us an interesting snow/rain mixture. It was raining a few hours ago and not it has turned to a very wet rain/snow mix. We are supposed to get 10 cm of snow over night and some more in the morning. We shall see if there is school or not!
I am fighting a cold right now and am a little tired...cannot wait to get to bed tonight!
Today's brand new and fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches comes from the incredibly talented Tui Nathan! I do love this sketch so very much!
I recently decided to cave and purchase the Pleasant Poppies stamp set. I have learned that I CANNOT colour...I try and try but my colouring always looks like my 6 year old did it! I have had many incredibly talented stampers offer to help me but they all live SO far away! Maybe one day I'll be able to have a proper colouring lesson!!! That aside, since I can't colour I had to stamp these beautiful poppies on some real red and fussy cut them out!!! I threw some bling in there and called it a day!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Real Red Taffeta Ribbon, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!

Deconstructed Sketch
Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I attended a baby shower today for a friend's sister. She's having a little boy but she is very girly! I wanted to make her a card that was vintage and girly but still boyish. I have recently discovered The Deconstructed Sketch and wanted to play along this week!
I had ordered the soda pop tops a while ago and hadn't used them yet. Since this card wasn't going in the mail I wanted to give them a try! I decided to use the Tea for Two DSP since it fit my vintage/girly/boyish theme!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Island Indigo
DSP: Tea for Two
Stamps: Collage Curios, Itty Bitty Banners, Hearts a Flutter
Ink: So Saffron, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Crumb Cake
Other: 1" Circle Punch, Basic Pearls, Island Indigo Ribbon, Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies, Soda Pop Tops, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great rest of your weekend!

Just for You!
Hello!
Hope you had a great weekend! We had a much quieter weekend which was very nice! I got my baby shower invitations done (yay!) and I was even able to get some scrapbooking done. I'm no where near caught up but that's okay!
I decided to tackle the Paper Players and Dynamic Duos Challenges today with one card! I loved the colours challenge this week at Dynamic Duos! Soft Suede and Crumb cake have got to be my favourite colours! Pair those up with Very Vanilla and I'm in heaven!
I really loved the sketch at the Paper Players. I had trouble with the circle and finally decided to just cut out the flower from the Blooming with Kindness stamp set. It took me a few tries with the butterflies until I was happy with them. I added a little clear embossing powder to get them to look a bit darker!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Booming with Kindness, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Versamark
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Bitty Banners Framelits Die, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Thank You Butterflies!
Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great week so far! We are getting back into the swing of things around here! Trevor goes back to work tomorrow so I'll be really on my own on "Titanic Tuesday"! I was so excited to sit down in the craft room this afternoon and get some Thank You cards done. I can't wait to get back in there and get a few birthday cards done! Hope you can forgive me for being MIA for the end of 2012!
I decided to keep the cards simple since I needed 6 of them and only had a small block of time to get them done! I loved the colours from the Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week. Who doesn't love Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Basic Grey together?! I mean seriously?! I popped these colours into this week's Retro Sketches challenge sketch and voila!
I had been itching to get out my honeycomb embossing folder! It can be found in the new spring catalogue! I love it! I think you may see it on several upcoming cards (my apologies in advance!). I'm sure you all knew that I would be buying the new Bitty Butterfly punch! I mean come on?! A tiny little butterfly? How could I resist?!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic Grey, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners, Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Bitty Butterfly Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Banners Framelit Die, Window Frames Framelits Die, Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Dimensionals
A couple of pictures from our trip to our to visit my parents. They have a ton of snow! It was so cold the day I took these! Caleb is such a great help! My dad and Caleb worked for hours making a jump for their sliding run! They sure do love the snow and loved being at Papa and Grannie's house!
Thanks for stopping by! I will be back on Wednesday with a new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #59
Hello!
Happy Wednesday and Happy Halloween! Halloween is one of my least favourite holidays...only because my kids aren't big candy eaters and well, I LOVE chocolate and all those little chocolate bars scream my name during the day when the boys aren't home!!! It's terrible! Hopefully they'll get a bag full of lollipops and Fuzzy Peaches so that I am not at all interested!
Today being Wednesday means that it's also time for a brand new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's sketch is brought to us by the fabulous Cindy Hall! Cindy makes the most beautiful cards and she is so inspiring!
I need a few thank you cards. I may have celebrated a birthday a few weeks ago and need to thank some very special people for some very special birthday gifts! My mom bought me the Postage Stamp punch and I've been itching to use it!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black,Whisper White
DSP: Polka Dot Parade
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Boho Blossoms Punch, Button, Daffodil Delight Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Bitty Banner Framelits, Dimensionals
A little sneak peak of my fire breathing dragon! He had his Halloween parade at school today (he doesn't go to school tomorrow) and I couldn't resist posting this picture of my cutie!
Stay tuned for Caleb's costume!!!!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #58
Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great week! I am slowly getting back into the swing of things after a week of absolute chaos! I have a card that I created for last week's Dynamic Duo's challenge that I never got around to even taking a picture of (letting along entering the challenge) because Caleb came home last Wednesday with a mild case of a stomach virus...thankfully he heals quickly! That was just the icing on a very busy week!
This week is looking a bit better! Today is Wednesday which means a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! Today's sketch comes from the incredible Narelle Farrugia! If you haven't checked out Narelle's cards, head on over to her blog! She is fabulous!
As always when it comes to me and making cards you all know that this was probably not my first card right! The first card I tried was a Christmas card. It didn't turn out so well. The next card was a birthday card...that one made me very frustrated...next was this one! I think I'm okay with this one!
I wanted to get out the Summer Starfruit since it's a colour that I don't really use much. I thought it would work for this card. Throw in a butterfly and some bling and I'm totally happy!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black
DSP: Patio Party
Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Large Delicate Doilies, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Circle Punches
Thanks for stopping by! I hopefully will be back tomorrow with another card!!!
Have a great day!
Jen
