Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #249
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week! We went to our first Major League Baseball game on Monday night! The boys were in Heaven! The Blue Jays took on the Tampa Bay Rays! Thankfully the Blue Jays came out on top! It was a great game and a fun trip into downtown Toronto on the train! The boys can't wait for the next game! What they don't know is it will be an afternoon game!!! Late nights aren't my favourite thing!
We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches! Our amazing hostess this week is the one and only Kim Singdahlsen. Kim's cards are beautiful and she is so creative! Head over to her blog to check them out!
I had to think about this sketch for a while. I wasn't sure what to do. Then I decided that I wanted a nautical theme and went from there. I opted for red, white and blue. It seems to be a nautical colour scheme doesn't it? I used The Open Sea from SU. I love that set. I think it will be one of the ones I keep forever!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whipser White, Real Red, Night of Navy
Stamps: The Open Sea,
Ink: Night of Navy
Other: Embossing Folder, Circle Punch, Warm Welcome Dies (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has come up with for your inspiration!
Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #191
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! Can you believe it's already the middle of June! Wow! Father's Day is fast approaching! I can't believe how that snuck up on me! I don't live all that close to my parents so I don't get to see my dad for Father's Day but that sure doesn't mean I don't appreciate him. He is the best dad and Papa in the world!
We have a fun sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the amazing Jennifer Timko! Jen creates such beautiful cards! They are so creative and I am always inspired by what she's done! Check out her blog and you will not be disappointed!
Jen's sketch is very open for interpretation this week! I was a little worried since I wanted to use it to make a Father's Day card! I love the Open Sea (a lot!!!) and so I decided to combine that with some double garland banners from Reverse Confetti! Some blue, red and white to make it even more nautical and I called it a day!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Silver
Stamps: The Open Sea, Crazy For You
Ink: Night of Navy, Crumb Cake
Other: Double Garland Banner Die (Reverse Confetti), Circle Punch, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for for stopping by today! I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out all the amazing cards the design team has created for you!!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #139
Hello and Happy Wednesday!
Can you believe it's Wednesday?! This week actually feels like it's going rather slow around here for some reason. It has been a nice week so far though and we've been enjoying some super warm weather! The boys have been loving being able to go in the pool! It's supposed to cool off tomorrow for a bit which will be nice!
We have a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of the super creative Rita Wright! When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought that I should get a start on the end of the year Teacher cards and then I thought I should make my parents their 40th anniversary card but I ended up hauling out the Open Sea stamp set....which doesn't work for either of those cards!
I love the Open Sea! It is so perfect for masculine cards and I must apologize to those men in my life who receive more than one card made using this set!
I went with Midnight Muse (I miss this colour soooooo much!), Cherry Cobbler, some Crumb Cake and a touch of Early Espresso! I originally hadn't embossed the tag but it looked like it was missing something so I got out my Arrows Textured Embossing Folder and added a bit of texture!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Open Sea, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Early Espresso, Midnight Muse
Other: Arrows Textured Embossing Folder, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Silver Brads, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope that you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and checked out the samples that the design team has cooked up for you! They are definitely worth the visit!
Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #89
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week so far. It's been lovely here - a little cooler than usual BUT it's so nice to be able to sleep with the windows open! I seem to have come down with a bit of a cold so I'm a little more tired today than usual.
Today brings us a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches! I must say, I love working with this group of ladies! I truly feel blessed to be part of this design team and to be able to call these ladies my friends! Today's sketch is brought to us courtesy of the fabulous Rita Wright!
I was super excited to see Rita's sketch! At first it had me stumped but I realized I needed to get some father's day cards done and knew The Open Sea would work perfectly in this sketch! I hope my dad doesn't mind receiving yet another Open Sea card!!!! I do apologize for the picture quality....the lighting was terrible...

Sailing Away....
Hello!
A quick post tonight! We had the big drive back from my mom and dad's today! As nice as it is to get home, the boys were sad leaving Papa and Grannie! It will be a while before we see them again and that's always hard. It was so relaxing at my mom and dad's and I'm not looking forward to the return of school/work week chaos!
I decided to play along with the Create with Connie and Mary challenge this week. I have zero masculine cards on hand and decided that I should probably change that situation! I pulled out my mom's "The Open Sea" stamp set since it's my go-to for masculine cards!
My mom had some Nautical Expedition (is that really it's name?!) paper left! I was thankful! I have a bit left too...it's prized stuff around here! It's just the perfect manly paper!!! I sponged the edges of the card since I wanted it to look a little more rustic. Threw on a bronze button and I was good to go!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
DSP: Nautical Expedition
Stamps: The Open Sea, Party This Way (sentiment)
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Other: Early Espresso Baker's Twine, Button, Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers
Thanks for stopping by!
I'll be back tomorrow with another card!!!
Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Birthday
Hello!
How is your weekend going? We had a fairly relaxing day today which was nice. Caleb (my oldest) slept in this morning which was a change for him! We had family game night tonight. What a great time. The boys and I played a very challenging game of Connect 4!
Today's card is my submission for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Now, please don't look at this card and say "wow, she always uses that paper and stamp set." I do use this a lot BUT I love it and I like to show that you don't always need to own hundreds of stamp sets! I also needed a masculine card this week for my dear uncle's birthday! He really loves Harley Davidson motorcycles but I didn't have that stamp so ships will have to do the trick!
I hope you have a great Sunday!
Thanks for stopping by!

The Open Sea Retirement
Hello!
For those of you with kids on March Break, I hope you're having a wonderful week off! I am still totally enjoying being at my parents house and they have been amazing and totally spoiling the boys and I. I couldn't be happier! My oldest has announced that he's going to stay here for the entire summer! We'll see about that.
I was asked by a friend to make retirement cards for two crown attorney's who are retiring next month.
These cards needs to be signed by A LOT of people so they need to be large.
This card isn't you're average card size. This one is actually 8.5"X11". Cards this big are a little tough to do!
The first card is for someone who loves sailing...immediately I thought of The Open Sea and the Nautical Expedition DSP! I started designing this card using Sleepy in Seattle's idea and then expanding!
I will hopefully get the other card done this weekend and post it for you! The next card is a bit more challenging so I'm a little nervous!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Whisper White
DSP: Nautical Expedition
Stamps: The Open Sea
Ink: Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Other: Grommets, Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Dimensionals, Stripes Embossing Folder

The Open Sea Sketch

Hello!
I found a few minutes at nap time today to create a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week. Thanks Linda for a great sketch!
The Sketch was clean and simple which is totally up my alley! I decided to focus on a more masculine card this week since they're tough to make and I always am in need of one! The Open Sea is one of my favourite stamp sets and works perfectly for those masculine cards!
If you haven't tried out a Freshly Made Sketch challenge (or any challenge for that matter) I highly recommend you do! Having a starting point makes the card creation process go so much faster!
Oh...I forgot to list the supplies for my box project yesterday so I've added those in! That's what I get for doing two things at once!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
DSP: This is terrible, but I can't remember the name...
Stamps: The Open Sea, Petite Pairs
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Other: Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals
