Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #231
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're week has started out well! We have had a good start to the week. The boys have a PA Day on Friday so they get the day off school. I don't quite know what we'll be doing but I'll have to think of something exciting! I'm sure running around doing grocery shopping won't quite fit the bill! I can't see why not?!
We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our hostess this week is the fabulous Karren Johnson! Karren is such a creative card maker! I totally love the fun cards she makes!
I needed a sympathy card this week. I love the Field Flowers stamp set for sympathy cards. I actually love it for any cards. I wish it hadn't retired! I used a combination of Sahara Sand and Early Espresso to create the flowers. I used some scraps I had to create the end pieces. There is no science to the end measurements. I kinda just cut them and glued them together!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Early Espresso
DSP: I can't remember where this is from...It's SU though!
Stamps: Field Flowers, Sentiment Flags (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Old Olive
Other: Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Sentiment Flag Die, Dimesionals
Thanks again for stopping in today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created! We can't wait to see what you'll create for our challenge!
Have a wonderful day!

CAS(E) This Sketch Sympathy
Hello!
I don't usually get to posting during the day! I like being home when the kids are at school! I snuck a few minutes in this morning and headed down to the craft room! I wanted to get a few cards finished up and get ahead for next week!
Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card this week (actually, I need two) and I wanted to get those done so they can get into the mail. The uncle of a friend of mine recently passed away and I want to send my friend and her aunt a card to let them know I'm praying for them.
I've been feeling rather uncreative lately. I think sometimes creativity goes in waves! I started out with the sketch over at CAS(E) this sketch and went from there. I knew I wanted this card to be mostly vanilla. I love the look of vanilla on vanilla. It just seems so clean! I put some tiny little pearls in the centre of the flowers but unfortunately they don't show up in the picture too well. It's a grey day here today so there isn't much light shining in the patio door!
I turned to my trusted Field Flowers, some Sahara Sand and Early Espresso Ink and voila!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Stamps: Field Flowers (SU), One from PTI that I can't remember the name of!
Ink: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso
Other: Basic Pearls, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I will be back again (later tonight) with tomorrow's Freshly Made Sketches post!
Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #103
Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a great week! Caleb is loving school. Jacob still hasn't started his regular schedule. I'm counting the minutes until Friday!!! Friday is pantry cleaning day!!!!
Today brings us a few sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! This week's hostess is your's truly. I have been feeling highly uninspired these days. The card above is actually my third attempt at the sketch. Seriously. The first one was just so bad I didn't finish it. The second one you can see if you keep scrolling down...ugh.
I love butterflies and hadn't used my Beautiful Wings embosslit in a long time. My embosslit is so well used that it has fallen apart and my husband has graciously glued it back together for me - on multiple occasions!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper white, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Pool Party
DSP: Quantrefancy Specialty
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals
Here's card #2....
Supplies:

Here are the boys back to school photos...finally! They're growing up too fast! Thank you MDS for these great signs!!!!

Colour Q Birthday
Hello!
How is your week going? It's almost the end! We had a great day on Wednesday and hung out at a lakefront park with some great friends! My boys had a blast. I love to see them so happily playing! The weather was perfect as well - which always helps!
I tackled the Colour Q challenge this week. I loved the colour combination! I decided to get out the Field Flowers set since it is one of my favourites (which you probably already know).
I must apologize for the slightly blurry picture. I'm having a bit of a lens issue...I'm trying to get that figured out!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Stamps: Field Flowers, Up, Up and Away
Ink: Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
Other: Dimensionals, Curly Label Punch, Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by!

More Field Flowers!
Hello!
Hope everyone survived their Wednesday! Both my youngest son and I are battling a little cold so I found card making today a little challenging!

Field Flowers Sympathy
Hello!
I haven't fallen off the face of the earth...it may seem that way though. My kids are on March Break so we are spending it with my parents! I am enjoying every second of it. My kids haven't seen Grannie and Papa since Christmas and they are in Heaven!
I had made my card for the Freshly Made Challenge this week last Thursday but only got around to taking a picture today!
A friend of our family passed away last week after a long, hard battle with cancer so I wanted to make a special card for his wife to let her know we are thinking of and praying for her and her family.
The Field Flowers stamp set is one of my all time favourites. It is very versatile and works for pretty much any type of card.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Stamps: Field Flowers, Petite Pairs
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Others: Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

CAS-ual Friday Field Flowers
Hello!
Sorry I didn't get posting yesterday! My husband and I went out for dinner at the CN Tower in Toronto and we ended up getting home WAY later than we anticipated. This afternoon we took the boys to Monster Jam! What a hoot! I think my oldest may end up driving a monster truck one day!
I found a great challenge to take part in! It's called "CAS-ual Fridays". I love CAS (Clean and Simple) cards! Though sometimes I fall in love with very overdone cards as well!
The challenge this week was in honour of Penguin Awareness Day and so the designers wanted us to create cards (CAS) that only used black and white! I love the field flowers stamp set and really felt like I should use it for this card. I added some black glitter to the centre of the flowers just to make them sparkle a little. As much as I love the new pleated statin ribbon from SU!, I also love pleating my own satin ribbon!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamps: Field Flowers, Petite Pairs
Ink: Basic Black
Others: Black Satin ribbon, black glitter, dimensionals
