Freshly Made Sketches #428
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week so far! We're all practising our social distancing (or we should be!)! How are you surviving? We have been having a great time. We are so blessed to live very close to a huge trail system (called the Bruce Trail). We have been able to get out every single day for a hike. It's been so lovely to get out and get fresh air and clear the mind!
We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches! Our hostess this week is the amazing Amy O'Neill! Amy's cards are always so beautiful and full of gorgeous elements! Head over to her blog and check them out!
I had a completely different idea in mind when I sat down to make my card! I had a shaker box that I was going to make and it was going to be so pretty...but....as you can see, that didn't happen! I also saw the game controller die sitting there and I knew that it would make a great card as well! There are a couple of birthdays coming up that this would be perfect for!
Now, this card and the sketch don't completely line up so I sure hope Amy and the girls can forgive me. I tried the sentient over the controller and it looked funny.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Smokey Slate
Stamps: Level Up (MFT Stamps)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Subtle Texture Embossing Folder, Game Controllers Dienamics (MFT Stamps), Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the other gorgeous cards!
Have an amazing day! Happy social distancing!!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #201
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! We are back to another Wednesday already! Thank you all so very much for your participation in our 200th sketch challenge last week! We love how many of you created cards for our challenge! It was amazing to see each and every one!
We have another great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our fabulous hostess this week is Narelle Farrugia. Narelle makes the most beautiful cards. Those flowers and all that fussy cutting and oh, don't forget those gorgeous layers! Head on over to her blog and check them all out!
We had a sweet little birthday boy at our house this past week. This particular now 7 year old LOVES soccer! One of his many loves actually. I decided to turn that evil circle into a soccer ball. Solved the circle issue right away! I used the hexagon embossing folder and die to create that soccer ball look!
I originally had a white background instead of green but it was a little too elegant looking for a 7 year old!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Gumball Green
Stamps: Sentiment Flag Additions (Lil' Inkers)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Stitched Flag Die (Lil' Inkers), Sequins, Hexagon Embossing Folder, Hexagon Die, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I sure hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog and check out what the Design Team has "whipped" up for you! We can't wait to see what you create for us!
Have a fabulous day!

First Birthday Fun
Hello!
We had another dark and dreary day here. It rained for most of the day. The rain wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so cool and damp. Sure not springy feeling weather but the grass will hopefully turn green with all of this water!
This is my last card until I get a few more minutes in the craft room on the weekend! Hopefully by then the creative juices will be flowing!
I really liked the sketch over at Retro Sketches this week! It was different and made me think! I'm surprised I didn't set off the smoke alarm!!!
I was asked to make a first birthday card with an owl theme! I decided to stick to some more Aqua colours (Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo and some Costal Cabana). Who doesn't love these colours at this time of the year!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, Silver, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Basic Black, More Mustard
DSP: Fresh Prints DSP Stack, Brights DSP Stack
Stamps: Birthday Bash Sentiments, Design Type Polymer Stamps
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Brights Candy Dots, Two Step Owl Punch, Pennant Punch, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fabulous day!

Big Lego Birthday Wishes
Hello!
Hope you had a great weekend! I spent the day at a Beth Moore Living Proof seminar at our church! It was fabulous. Such a great experience! It was amazing to see 500+ women together!
I didn't get a chance to make any cards today - but hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll get at a few done as I have heard the boys are heading out flying!!!!
I recently had a customer request for a Lego card! I decided not to make one of my previous ones and try something new. I had seen a card last week (not a Lego card) and it had three squares on it. I immediately thought they could be made into Lego blocks!
Caleb has an upcoming birthday party and this card would work perfectly so I think I'll whip another one up!!!
The squares blocks are 1.5" X 1.5". The narrow block is 3/4" wide...but now I can't remember how long it is!!! The small square is 3/4" X 3/4". I used the 1/2" circle punch to create the dots!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Real Red, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps: Birthday stamps from PTI
Ink: Stazon
Other: 1/2" circle punch, Dimensionals
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a truly wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches #87
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! It's been one of those weeks! We now have a very special 7 year old at our house. I honestly think he grew over night. I don't know how that's possible but this morning my sweet 5 lb little boy seemed bigger! I'm not sure how ready I am to have a 7 year old at our house!
This week's Freshly Made Sketches sketch is brought to us courtesy of the talented Jennifer Timko! You need to stop what you're doing right now and head on over to her blog to check out her fabulous card! Okay...maybe wait until you're done reading this!
So I obviously needed a birthday card for a certain 7 year old. If you didn't know before, Caleb LOVES Lego. It's more than love...he's obsessed with is. It's all over our house. It drives me crazy! I could not, not make him a Lego card again! It's clean, it's simple but he loved it!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black
Stamps: Best Dad Ever
Ink: Basic Black
Other: 1/2" Circle Punch, Timeless Type Die, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!

MOJO Monday Birthday
Hello!
I've been MIA, I know! I'm sorry. My husband and I went away to Upper New York for a few days to celebrate our 10th anniversary! We had a wonderful time away! My favourite part was not having to cut up anyone else's food and being able to eat a hot meal!!! It was fabulous! I'm home now and back into the swing of crafting!
Today's card was created using this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I needed a card for my friend's daughter's birthday! I can't believe this little princess is turning 2 already! I decided to follow the Mojo sketch to get me started! I love butterflies and rhinestones and will take any opportunity to use them!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
DSP: Patio Party
Stamps: A Fitting Occasion
Ink: Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals
Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Basic Rhinestones, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Summer Starfruit Ribbon, Curly Label Punch, Number Die, Dimensionals, Circle Punches
Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow!
Have a fabulous day!

CAS-ual Friday's and Lego!
Hello!
How is your week starting out? We had an errand day today which usually doesn't go over too well with two little boys. Tonight though we opted for cheap entertainment and went to the GO-Train station (our local commuter train into Toronto) to watch the trains. I have two little boys who LOVE trains on my hands so they were in train heaven!
Today's card is for this week's CAS-ual Friday's Challenge. This week's challenge to create a clean and simple square card. I'm not too sure my card is too clean and simple but it was really simple to make! This is for a friend of mine how's precious little boy is turning 4 in September! He loves all things Lego (oh and Cars too!). I wanted to stick with a "4" theme on the card hence the 4 Lego blocks (that has 4 knobs on them)!
These blocks are 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" and I used a 3/4" punch to create the circles. The mini block inside the card is a 3/4" square with mini 1/4" circles on it!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point
Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: 3/4" circle punch, 1/4" circle punch, Timeless Type Sizzlit, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals
These pictures are from the fun fly on Sunday. This is my husband's new crop duster (air tractor). Nothing runs like a Deere you know! Caleb likes to "help" his dad fly...he's too cute! I'm so glad he likes to be with his dad! The air tractor looks great with smoke!
Thanks for stopping by! We'll see you tomorrow with the Freshly Made Sketches card for the week!
Have a great day!

Out of This World!
Hello! Hope you had a great weekend! We had a fun time this weekend. The boys went mini golfing Saturday morning before the torrential rains hit then Saturday night they decided to have a boys party - s'mores on the BBQ and sleeping in the tent in the backyard. It started out as a great party! The s'mores were delicious (though they had a grill taste to them!) but the tenting...well...a bunch of guys decided to have a party just as the boys were going to bed, the wind was rustling the tend and Caleb thought there was someone outside so needless to say they all ended up inside and in their beds! It was a good try though!
Today's card was made for my youngest monkey who turns 4 in 8 days! How can that be possible?! He can't be 4 yet! I started with the sketch over at "Create with Connie and Mary" blog! I really wanted to try this new Blast Off Stamp set since my boys totally love space! I needed some bright colours to make it kid friendly and boyish! Who doesn't love Gumball Green and Midnight Muse?!
There are some very fabulous cards over at the challenge so please, go ahead and check it out! It will be worth the trip!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Whisper White
DSP: Polka Dot Parade
Stamps: Blast Off
Ink: Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Pumpkin Pie, Versamark
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Chevron Embossing Folder, Stripes Embossing Folder
Here are a few photos from the boy's party! The fabulous s'mores! My husband doesn't look too impressed (he just doesn't like have his picture taken)! The bottom picture is the boys settling into the tent! Hilarious! They look so happy in there....!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Mambo Birthday
Hello!
Did you survive your Monday! Tuesday already! Seems impossible. Okay so I mentioned a few days ago that I had some professional pictures taken by a friend of mine (including makeup and hair)...I got a peek at them today...here's a link to the blog if you want to see too....Heidi is awesome! I'm sure photoshop is awesome too! It was sure a fun experience and I can't wait to see what new opportunities Heidi will offer for mom's to get glamed up and have their pictures taken!
I decided to tackle the Dynamic Duos and The Paper Players challenges this weekend. I know I'll be needing a card for a special little girl who's turning 5 very shortly! Her mom is expecting her 4th baby very shortly and I want to make sure she has the perfect card for her daughter who wants a princess birthday party!
I love the Melon Mambo and Basic Black colour options! They make me very happy! A dessert choice of ribbon! I should have had a second helping!!! The black ribbon is hard to see. I tried Melon Mambo and it looked funny so I decided to stick with black.
The Paper Players challenge was basically to take one of your favourite challenge from the past 100 challenges and make a card. I have only played this challenge once (I think) so I decided to just pick a sketch that I really liked and work with it.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Stamps: Dress Up, Voeux Mignon,
Ink: Basic Black, Melon Mambo
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Curly Label Punch, Adorning Accents Folders, Argyle Embossing Folder, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack

6th Birthday Bling
Hello!
How did your day go? We had a great play date this morning at a park in our neighbourhood. I'm so glad Caleb has such great friends - especially ones that are girls!
Caleb has been invited to a birthday party this weekend for a sweet friend of his! My youngest son Jacob has the biggest crush on this almost 6 year old! It's the funniest thing and thankfully she has also invited Jacob to her birthday!!!
I wanted to try out my new Dress Up stamp set! I do think it's wonderful for making cards for little girls!
Anyhow, I used the Mojo Monday sketch to start this card. I needed something to get the card going. I then used the dynamic duos colours for the week. How on earth can you resist Basic Gray and Regal Rose?! The card wasn't quite complete so I added some rhinestones to bling it up a little!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Regal Rose, Whisper White
DSP: Twitterpated, Basic Gray DSP
Stamps: Dress Up, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Regal Rose
Other: Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Scalloped Circle Punch, Circle Punches, Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, Timeless Type Sizzlets Die, Basic Rhinestones

Happy 6th Birthday!
Hello!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a nice long weekend in Canada and we finished up by celebrating my oldest son's 6th birthday today!

My babe had a great birthday and loved getting lots of Lego cards!!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great week!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Real Red
Stamps: Loved Ones
Ink: Basic Black

Birthday Lego (again...)
Hello!
I hope everyone had a great day! Friday has arrived finally! If you're like me, when you hit Friday you breathe a huge sigh of relief!
Today's card is very simple but will have a HUGE effect on the recipient (who happens to be my soon to be 6 year old)!
My dad requested a card for my oldest who is turning 6 in just over a week (how can that be? Wasn't he just born yesterday?). Well, I'm sure you remember me saying once or twice that Caleb LOVES Lego.
I was having a hard time thinking of yet another Lego card BUT then it hit me...why not make a giant Lego block for him! It's simple but he'll love it.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Whisper White
Stamps: Loved Ones
Ink: Basic Black, Pacific Point
Other: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Stamps: Party This Way
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Tempting Turquoise, Wisteria Wonder, Rose Red, So Saffron, Bashful Blue

First Birthday Overalls
Hello!
I'm so sorry my posts have been sporadic. I have tendonitis in my stamping hand and have been trying to rest the hand. Who knew stamping was such a dangerous job?!
That being said...I am taking a little break for the next week to try and help it heal. I'll try and get some old cards posted though!
I needed to make a first birthday card for a friend and had seen some really cute overall cards online and wanted to give one a try.
I didn't use a pattern for the overalls. I really just cut them freehand (with the help of a ruler)
The frog stamp and die is not Stampin' Up but seemed to work perfectly for this little card.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Stamps: Non-SU
Other: Neutrals buttons, Curly Label Punch, 1 3/8" square punch (pockets, neck), Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet, White Gel Pen
Thanks for stopping by!

Punch Art Castle
Hello!
I hope you're having a good week. We enjoyed some fabulous weather here in Southern Ontario today. 15 degrees! I loved it! The boys were out playing in the sandbox this afternoon - which meant I didn't get a single thing done in my craft room. Tonight I had bootcamp (again) and I didn't get into my room except to use the garbage can. Terrible. Hopefully tomorrow I can get in there and get creating!
It must be punch art week here! My oldest went to a birthday party for a little girl in his class. I was super excited to make a little girl card! I decided to try out a punch art castle that I had seen online. I found it at Kirsty's Cards n' Scrapping.
I CASE'd Kirsty's design since it was the colours I wanted to use! I did add in a Happy Birthday after I took the picture of the card then forgot to take another picture! I'm doing really well this week!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
DSP: Perfect Plum
Ink: Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette
Stamps: Perfect Pennant (stars)
Other: Glitter, Spiral Punch (Castle) , Word Window (Castle Door), Star Punch (flags), Label Die (non-SU for the middle of the bottom section of the castle).

My oldest son is going to have a Lego birthday party this year for his 6th birthday so I decided to work ahead and make a great card for his little brother to give him!

Cardstock: Pacific Point, Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Daffodil Delight

Soaring Wishes
Hello!
I'm a little slow at getting around to my challenges from last week and this week! I'm so ashamed!!! It has been a crazy week and it's only going to get crazier!
The current CAS-ual Fridays challenge was to create a CAS (Clean and Simple) card using paper piecing. I immediately thought of the "Send Me Soaring" stamp set from the Stampin' Up Occasions Mini Catalogue. I knew one of the kites and the clouds would be perfect to use.

For anyone who doesn't understand paper piecing...that's when you cut out little pieces of paper (or big pieces depending on your image) and glue them into a stamped image. I stamped the kite image first on my cardstock then again on my DSP and cut out the pieces and the glued them onto the stamped image on my cardstock. I also stamped the cloud images on my whisper white cardstock and cut them out. I realized after I finished my card that kites were a popular theme for this particular challenge!
If you're thinking that this card looks a lot like yesterday's card...it does...I'm sorry. The kites just seemed to fit into the similar background I had used for my airplane valentine!
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
DSP: Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight (Patterns Stack)
Stamps: Send Me Soaring, Up Up and Away
Ink: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue
Other: Lattice Embossing Folder

MOJO Monday and Lego!

Hello!
Oh how I love weekends! The weather is blustery here so I was happy to spend this afternoon working on cards! I finally got around to the MOJO Monday sketch. I thought by the time I got around to it we'd be back at Monday again!!! So many challenges, too little time!!!
As soon as I saw this sketch the thing that came to my mind was LEGO! Our oldest son is 5 1/2 and he LOVES Lego. Usually our basement floor is covered in it but this week he's been great at cleaning up! My youngest (3 1/2) isn't so great at cleaning it up and this week played in my craft room with me calling his Lego "garbage" and filling up his garbage truck. I've been stepping on the stray pieces and so Lego is fresh on my brain!
We will be in need of lots of boy cards this year so I figured it would be great to have this one on hand! Right now all the boys in my son's kindergarten class are HEAVY into Lego! I think they all eat, breathe and sleep it!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: Loved Ones
Other: Dimensionals, 1/2" Circle Punch
Thanks for stopping by!
