Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #454

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  I can't believe we're officially into fall!  Fall is my favourite season.  I love decorating, the colours, the smells and the cool nights!  There are some people that get excited to decorate for Christmas, for me it's fall.  I could totally leave up my pumpkins all year round!!

We have a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess is the amazing Jacquie Southas!  Jacquie is one of our colouring queens and always creates the most amazing cards!  Head over to her blog to check them out!

One would think that this is a straight forward sketch.  It seems straight forward right?  Not for this girl.  I've felt very uncreative lately.  Like really, really uncreative!  Anyhow, I struggled to figure out what I wanted to make for this card.  I wanted a fall card - I just can't help it! You know me and fall! Needless to say, the plaid tidings DSP was sitting there and it won!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Whisper White

DSP: Plaid Tidings

Stamps: Fall Foliage (Reverse Confetti)

Ink: Basic Black, Memento Black

Other: Fall Foliage Dies, Copper Thread, Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder, Stampin Blends, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll take some time and head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog!  You will love the cards the Design Team ladies have created!

We can't wait to see what you come up with for our challenge!

Have an amazing day!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #452

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  My oldest starts high school today.  I can't believe it.  How is that even possible?  Wasn't he just starting JK yesterday? I remember his first day like it was just yesterday and here we are 10 years later!  My youngest has one day of school this week so he's enjoying a few more golf games before school starts up!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess this week is our colour pairing queen, Amy O'Neill!   Head over to Amy's blog if you want to see some incredible cards.  She can mix and match colours, patterns and embellishments like no one else!  Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

At first those two leaves threw me.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do.  I love fall cards and I'm not sure why I didn't pull out some fall'ish stuff but I also saw some holly leaves and berries and thought that they would work!

My Mossy Meadow stampin' blend is on it's last legs and I wasn't sure it would last to colour the holly leaves but it did!  Yay!  I decided to add a stitched border and another stitched label for my sentiment and call it a day!  Of course I still had to add some sequins because...well, why not?!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Mossy Meadow

Stamps: Christmas Gleaming

Ink: Versamark, Memento Black

Other: Sweetly Stitched Dies, Stitched Rectangular Frames, Stampin Blends (Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler), Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder, Copper Embossing Folder, Copper Sequins

Thanks so much for stopping by today! The Design Team has created some amazing cards so you need to head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check them out!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #397

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We had our church kids camp last week.  It was the most amazing week ever.  It was the most tiring week ever but wow, was it fun.  850  kids, 350 workers and a whole lot of smiles!  Can't wait for next year!

We have a brand new and fantastic sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the lovely Kim Singdahlsen.  Kim creates such gorgeous cards and I'm always taking note of what supplies she's using and building a wish list!  Maybe don't tell my husband that!!!

Kim's sketch was a little tricky until I realized I had these poppies (uncoloured) sitting on my desk from another card attempt!  I decided instead of colouring them red, I would colour them yellow instead!  For today, they're yellow poppies!

I must say the Stampin' Blends did great and I was able to combine 4 markers instead of just the normal 2!  I believe this was Daffodil Delight and Mango Medley but I could be very wrong!  It may be So Saffron and Mango Medley!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whipser White, Basic Grey
DSP: Brights 6X6 DSP Stack
Stamps: LJD Delicate Pretty Poppies (MFT)
Ink: Memento, Versamark
Other: LJD Pretty Poppies Dies (MFT), Stampin' Blends, Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder, Silver Embossing Powder, Stitched Flags

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created for your inspiration!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #391

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  This week is bringing absolute craziness to our house!!!!  We have a packed schedule this week whereas normally our schedule is fairly open.  It just seems like everything decided to happen in one week!  Thankfully it's going off without a hitch so far!  Today is the school BBQ and of course they're calling for rain and thunder storms!  Fantastic!  Both boys are playing in the school bands...outside!  Should be a great day!  My youngest is supposed to be at an outdoor soccer tournament all day today as well.  We shall see if that actually happens.  Can't wait to sit on those sidelines!

We have a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Amy O'Neill!  Amy's cards are always coloured beautifully and I swear she is a watercoloring master!  I long to possess her talent!

This sketch totally stumped me!  I have no idea why!  It's not full of circles, it's not hard - I just couldn't figure out what I wanted to do.  I tried a variety of things over several days until I finally came up with a card and even now, I'm not totally satisfied but that's okay!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Gingham
Stamps: Fall For You (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Memento Black
Other: Fall For You Confetti Cuts, Sweet Celebration Dies (Lil' Inker Designs), Celebrate Word Die (Lil' Inker Designs), Stampin Blends, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team have created!  They are definitely awe inspiring this week!

Have a fantastic day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #386

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  It's May 1st!!!  How did that happen?!  Wow!  Time is flying by.  I'd like to say that summer will be here in no time but with the weather we've been having I'm not sure!  My parents live in a community that is currently being devastated by extreme flooding.  The pictures of people's water logged houses are heart breaking and to know it could be months and months before some people can be back int their homes is so sad and overwhelming.  We're praying over the coming days that the water can recede enough for the clean up to begin.  We are so fortunate where we live that we don't have to really worry about extreme flooding the way this community is.

On a happier note, we have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  I am excited to be this week's hostess!  Coming up with a sketch can often be challenging but sometimes you just see something that you turn into a sketch!

Funny story about this card though.   This isn't the first card I made for this challenge.  You may be thinking "Jen, you say that almost every week".  Well, see, I made this great card that I really liked and it was for my in-laws anniversary and I gave it to my husband and before I knew what was going on my husband had written in it and mailed it.  Normally he's not so on the ball!!!

Anyhow, I had to rush to make a new card and this is what we ended up with.  I opted to combine some pieces from the Lots of Happy Card Kit.  Honestly, I love this kit.  If you don't have it - I really recommend it.  It's so fun to colour and I love the designs.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Gold Foil
DSP: I can't remember what it's called...I'm sorry....
Stamps: From Lots of Happy Card Kit
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Highland Heather and Old Olive Stampin Blends, Ribbon (from Card Kit), Image from Lots of Happy Card Kit

Thanks again for stopping by! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches page to check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  I can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #385

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  Did you get to enjoy a lovely Easter weekend!  We had a nice weekend.  It was quite rainy here most of the weekend so the majority was spend inside but that's okay.  Sometimes forced quiet time is nice!  My kids were quite squirrelly by the end though!  They were able to get outside for most of the afternoon on Monday but mom's brain isn't quite in summer mode yet so they both came in with sunburns!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the amazing Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim's cards are always fabulous and so creative!  I always love them.  I actually make wish lists based on her cards!
Head over to her blog and check them out!

I really loved Kim's sketch this week.  I had recently purchased the Lots of Happy Card Kit from Stampin Up.  I'm not sure why it took me so long to purchase it because I just loved it.  I didn't use the watercolour pencils in it but used my Stampin Blends instead.  I decided to use the stamps from the kit and create a similar design to the cards in the kit!  I used the gingham paper from the Occasions catalogue - who doesn't love the gingham!  It just screams spring to me!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Highland Heather, Gold
DSP: Gingham Gala
Stamps: Lots of Happy Card Kit Stamps
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Circle Punches, Dimensionals, Stampin Blends

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will definitely be inspired!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #373

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We're digging out after a huge snowstorm.  We got about 26 cm (or 10") of snow Monday evening and overnight.  Thankfully the boys got the day off school yesterday and we had a nice relaxing day at home - shovelling and sliding!  It was fabulous!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the lovely and incredibly talented Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim creates gorgeous cards each and every time!  Please head over to her blog and check them out!

So I'm still wanting to try my Christmas goodies and couldn't wait to ink up my Llama Love stamp set from Taylored Expressions.  I have been told that Llamas and Alpacas are all the rage.  I'm not really sure why but they are definitely cute!  Now, my poor sweet Alpaca doesn't have his face coloured because I didn't really know what colour it should be.  He is also grey and I'm not even sure Alpacas are grey.  I kinda think they're brown and beige.  But for today, they'll be grey.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
Patterned Paper: Build a Scene (Taylored Expressions)
Stamps: Llama Love (Taylored Expressions)
Ink: Memorex black
Other: Sequins, Stampin' Blends, Llama Love Dies, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created!  You will definitely be inspired!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #337

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We've had a lovely week!  My mom and I have been on a few walks this week and have been admiring all of the beautiful blossoms.  They are just so pretty!  Our trees have almost all their leaves now and our backyard is becoming more secluded!  It's perfect for all of the outside time!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the creative Linda Callahan.  Linda is our resident storyteller and beautiful card designer!  Head over to Linda's blog and check out her gorgeous cards!

I decided to ink up my Hello Lovely stamp set from Concord & 9th.  I haven't really used that set much before because I didn't have the markers to colour it (and my colouring is terrible).  I have unpacked most of my craft room now so I knew where the markers were and went to town.  I'm still learning the art of colouring and know that I have a long way to go!  Have you seen some of the girls on this team?  They're colouring queens!

I cut out the flowers roughly so they would fit better on the card.  Probably a no no but I really wanted to be able to use them!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Calypso Coral
Stamps: Hello Lovely (Concord & 9th)
Ink: Memento Black
Other: Stampin Blends, Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Sequins

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created for you!  You won't be disappointed!

Have a fabulous day!
