Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #354
Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week so far! I've been in a bit of a baking mood this week - I think mainly because I'm procrastinating organizing and decluttering my house! Oh well. The kids and my husband aren't really complaining. Yesterday we had homemade Pumpkin Spice Donuts. I really think I need to try chocolate ones!!!
Anyhow, we have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of our resident comedian and storyteller Linda Callahan! Linda also makes gorgeous cards so please head over to her blog to see what I mean!
As soon as I saw the sketch I knew that I wanted to make a fall card and use my dies from Concord & 9th! I cut the stems off leaves 2 and 3 to get them the length that I wanted. The sentiment really does ring true. I love fall. Don't get me wrong, I love summer - but I LOVE fall. The temperature, the pretty colours and the pumpkins! I LOVE pumpkins...oh, I'm getting off track again!
You'll notice that Linda and I created very similar cards - unintentionally but I'll say great minds think alike!!!
Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Copper Foil
Stamps: Give Thanks (Concord & 9th)
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Copper Rhinestones, Layering Leaves Dies (Concord & 9th)
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created for you! You will definitely be inspired!
Have a fabulous day!
Jen

A CAS masterpiece! Love these colors and your gold accents! And those donuts looked tasty! When I was a kid my grandmother would make donuts and it was my job to roll the donut holes in the sugar. Pumpkin Spice donuts would have been a nice addition to our repertoire!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty autumn card! Your pops of gold are perfect and your sentiment is so fun.
ReplyDeleteI love this! Great colors and these leaves are perfect for the sketch. Those doughnuts looks fantastic. I love to bake, but I've never tried doughnuts as I've always thought they'd be too hard. I'm sure your family would much rather have freshly baked goods over a decluttered house. I would!
ReplyDeleteI just love your take on the sketch with the autumn theme! Wonderful warm colors and beautiful die cuts too! I'm trying hard to shift to CAS cards like this, but I tend to keep layering LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat card, Jen! Those die-cuts are perfect for the sketch so I can totally understand why you and Linda both chose them! Having said that, your cards are different and both gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have a cutting file like this... and was soooo tempted to use it ! It works perfectly for the sketch. Love it!
ReplyDeletePumpkin spice donuts? I've never tried anything like this - do you think they'd keep if you sent them over to me....? Your card and those leaves are just amazing and perfect for the sketch - love this card Jen!
