Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #469

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a good week!  I feel like Valentine's Day is just around the corner so I'm trying to get some Valentine's Day cards made so I'm not scrambling at the last minute!  Great intentions, not sure about great follow through though!  We shall see!  I usually decorate a bit and should probably do that before it's February 13th!  It's not like there's much else going on around here!!!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess is the amazing Kim Singdahlsen.  Kim's cards are always fabulous and you need to head over to her blog and check them out!

I decided to use my new Lots of Hearts Stamp set and the Many Hearts dies for this card.  Of course I needed to tie in the FREE Flower and Field DSP!  Honestly, this paper pack might just be my favourite ever.  It makes me smile!  I also used the FREE Oh So Ombre paper as the background.  I just love that fading colour!

I decided to add some thread around the edge of the heart.  It's just embroidery floss and took a VERY long time to stitch.  I couldn't get the floss through the needle and so I was frustrated!  Needless to say, I might not make too many versions of this card!

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler

DSP: Flower and Field, Oh So Ombre

Stamps: Lots of Hearts

Ink: Basic Black

Other: Many Hearts Dies, Tasteful Labels Dies, Embroidery Floss, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the other cards!

We hope you'll join in our challenge this week!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Wow! This is delightfully romantic, Jen! Love it!

  2. Your stitching looks amazing! I do not have the patience for threading needles anymore ha! Love that paper too. Will have to look at that more closely. Sweet card, Jen!

  3. A perfect way to use this pretty dsp! And I love the stitching on the heart -- your patience was worth it!

  4. This is lovely! Your stitching is a wonderful touch! I just received that paper yesterday - haven't opened it yet! Looks beautiful on your card!

  5. Even though the stitching gave you fits, it was worth the effort! Such a gorgeous card!

  6. Love your paper choices Jennifer and bravo for having the patience to add the stiched detail to your heart. Worth it though - looks great!

  7. Very pretty Valentine card. I like the stitching detail you added.

  8. I love your combination of those two paper packs. The stitching on the heart and the tiny pierced circle behind it are a lovely accent.
