Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #368

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  How's the Christmas preparations coming along?  I think I'm done.  That being said, I'll probably discover in a few days that I wasn't as ready as I thought I was!   I'm getting over a bad cold that my youngest decided to share with me.  So far everyone else has stayed healthy so we're hoping that remains the case!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of our designer down under, Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle creates gorgeous card often with intricately cut, beautiful flowers.  Be sure to check out her blog!

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do for this card but I remembered I had some of the galvanized metal cardstock and an embossing folder that I had yet to try out!  Once I decided to use the galvanized metal, I knew that black, white and grey would work perfectly!

I don't really know where the scraps of DSP came from.  They were just sitting in a pile and worked really well together!  They are from SU though and they're probably retired!!

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Galvanized Metal, Silver Glimmer
DSP: SU retired
Stamps: LJD Birthday Greetings (MFT)
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Tin Tile Embossing Folder, Oval Dies (Spellbinders), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for your inspiration!

Have a fabulous day!

  1. Gorgeous! I love that embossing folder - and it's so perfect with the patterned black panels on top.

  2. I love the galvanized metal with the touch of sparkle from the glimmer paper! It's all beautiful with the neutral color scheme. Have a wonderful Christmas, Jen!

  3. That embossed background is terrific! Stylish!

  4. I love that galvanized metal background! It looks great with that black DSP! I finished up my Christmas shopping last weekend. I've got a couple of things to wrap, some things to bake and I'm done! It feels good to be on time with my Christmas checklist!

  5. This is so pretty!! I love the silver you used against the black. AMAZING take on the sketch!

  6. Beautiful and elegant has become your signature card-making style, Jen, and this card is no exception! Love it! Happy New Year, my friend!
