Blue and Silver Snowflake

Hello!
It's the end of another day...I must say I'm a little tired today.  It was a busy day.  I wanted to try and get another Christmas card done...I'm still nowhere near my goal which saddens me greatly.  I think some people may not get hand made cards this year...I hope they aren't offended but I'm not sure how many more I can turn out this week!!!

I wanted to combine the Dynamic Duos and Fab Friday challenges!  I love Midnight Muse and I love silver so this week's Dynamic Duos colour challenge was perfect for me!  Inspiring actually!!!  I then threw those colours into the Fab Friday sketch and voila!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Midnight Muse, Silver Glimmer
Stamps: Bright Hopes
Ink: Midnight Muse
Other: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Snowflake Punch

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #63

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  Where did the first half of the week go?  Where did most of November go?  I honestly can't believe that we're closing in on Christmas!  Some of you know I've been going through some health tests recently to see if some mysterious lumps might be breast cancer but I am so happy (and thankful) to say that yesterday the doctor confirmed that she believes we are in the clear.  I have a follow up ultrasound next month but for now, I am very relieved. I am so thankful for those praying!  What an amazing answer to prayer!  God is good!

There's a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Rita has a great new sketch for us!  I love new sketches!  This one had me stumped! I don't know why. I really wanted to use an ornament (I'm obsessed with them you know!) but I couldn't get it to look right.  I finally decided on a snowflake but in the process of trying to distress my early espresso core'dinations cardstock I scratched it...badly too...I'm so ashamed!  Heaven help me

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso Core'dinations, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Petite Pairs
Ink: Versamark
Other: Snow Flurry Bigz Die, 3/4" Circle punch, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Word Window Punch, Sanding Block, Very Vanilla Velvet Ribbon, White Embossing Powder

Okay so here's the original card I made...I should have used a different embossing folder...alas...what can one do!

Retro Ornament

Hello!
We're halfway through the week!  I'm looking forward to the weekend.  We may be receiving some fabulous visitors for the weekend that I'm very much looking forward to seeing!  We may even take in some "Black Friday" shopping - Canadian style!  To all my American readers out there - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy your time together with your families and friends!

I am still trying to tackle some Christmas cards...I'm thinking this might be a futile process!  I decided to use the sketch from this week's Retro Sketches challenge!  I really liked this week's sketch.  It seemed very clean and simple to me.  I decided to use the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set again.  I really love this set and I love how many different types of cards I can make with it.  So easy with the coordinating dies.  I mean WHY NOT?!  I used some clear embossing powder on the ornament to give it a bit more shine.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP: Be of Good Cheer
Stamps: Holiday Ornament, Petite Pairs
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Holiday Ornament Dies, Clear Embossing Powder, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, and that embossing folder that has a name that I can never remember!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a wonderful day!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #62

Hello all!
I hope you're having a great week!  I haven't been posting lately...I'm so sorry.  I started re-arranging my craft room and it's quite the ordeal.  Why do I start these things?!  I'm seriously regretting it though hoping that in the end I enjoy the finished product!  Not sure when I'll get to the end!

The best part about Wednesday is that it brings a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Who doesn't get excited about that?  This week's fabulous sketch is brought to us courtesy of the amazing Jen Mitchell!  She put a circle on it...did you see that?!  I decided to step outside of those rounded edges and skip right to the holiday ornaments!!!  I also notice now that I'm doing this that I put my sentiment in the wrong place!  Wow...I really broke all the rules on this one!!!

So I need to get my Christmas cards done so I'm making one every chance I get!  I'm not sure they'll ever get done!!!  How are your Christmas cards coming along?

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, Four the Holidays
Ink: Versamark
Other: Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Very Vanilla Velvet Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Holiday Ornament Dies, Dimensionals

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #61

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I survived my crazy Tuesday!  I am impressed.  I spent the entire day at the school helping the Grade 1 teachers get their brand new reading carts into circulation.  I still have many hours and much laminating to go!!!  When I'm done with that I get to move onto the French books!

Wednesday's are always a great day!  They bring a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week the fabulously talented Jennifer Timko brings us this great sketch!  This week we also say good-bye to the lovely Jen Sannes.   We will miss her beautiful cards on the DT but I know I'll be checking her blog on a regular basis to see her wonderful creations!

I am really stuck on the Very Vanilla and Soft Suede combination.  Forgive me.  I know they're not traditional colours!  I used some champagne glimmer paint to stamp the snowflakes on.  It does look much prettier and sparklier in person.   I had some "help" from Jacob with the picture taking so I finally gave up on getting the perfect picture!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Stamps: Serene Snowflakes, Petite Pairs (Sentiment)
Ink: Soft Suede
Other: Basic Pearls, Champagne Glimmer Paint, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals

Merry Monday Snowflakes

Hello!
Hope everyone had a great Monday!  Tuesday is a crazy day here but I'm glad we get it over with early in the week!

I decided that I wanted to participate in the Merry Monday challenge.  I had told Lesley a while ago I would get a card ready for the challenge!  I think I must have been envious of all of her beautiful Christmas cards!!!  I finally had a few minutes to sit down in my disastrous craft room and whip up a card!

I really love the Mixed Medley hostess set.  I love the snowflakes and doubly love the mini scalloped circle punch!  I threw some rhinestones on the snowflakes just so they sparkled a little.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP: Festival of Prints DSP Pack
Stamps: Mixed Medley, Chock Full of Cheer (Sentiment)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: White Embossing Powder, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Engagement Wishes

Hello!
I hope you had a great weekend!  I can't believe the weekend is over already!   How on earth does it go by so quickly?!  This week is going to be insane.  I guess it will fly by!  The boys had their skating lessons this weekend.  Pictures posted below.  Caleb loves skating and is moving onto "learn to play hockey" lessons next week.   Jacob will stay in the "learn to skate" lessons.  He really needs to just learn how to stay standing once he's up!

Today's card is for a friend of mine who recently got engaged to her boyfriend!  She is a great customer who orders a ton of cards so how can I not make her a card to congratulate her?!  She happens to be Asian so I wanted to include a bit of red on her card and minimize the white.

I used a sketch from a recent Create with Connie and Mary Challenge.  I didn't get a chance to get the card created in time for the challenge but I do like to go back to these challenge sites and check out their past sketches to use!  If you're ever stuck...give it a try!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Stamps: Love and Laughter
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Other: Boho Blossoms Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Labels Framelits, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder

Caleb is all smiles doing his cross-overs!  Jacob...well, they put him on the end but when he goes down, the girls go down with him!!!

Have a fabulous day!

Dynamic Christmas Card

Hello!
Happy Remembrance Day!  Today is a great day to stop and remember.  To stop and be thankful for our freedom and the cost at which it came.  I am thankful for my Grandpa who fought for our country in the second world war.  I am thankful for the thousands of men and women who currently serve for our freedom world wide.  I thank the families who allow their loved ones to serve with honour.  Please take a moment today to be thankful and remember.

Today's card is for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.  I am ashamed to say that I do not own anything Sahara Sand.  How is that even possible?  Especially for a Demonstrator?  Shameful I know.  I had to substitute Crumb Cake for the Sahara Sand.  I love the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set.  It has to be one of my favourite sets from the Holiday catalogue - especially with those coordinating dies!   I stamped the longer ornament on Crumb Cake using Versamark then used clear embossing powder so the ornament looks a bit darker.  Another shameful confession...I just discovered that there was very vanilla seam binding!  How on earth did I miss that one?  Now that I have it...I can't stop using it!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes, Petite Pairs (Sentiment)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Basic Pearls, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Holiday Ornament Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #60

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  I can't believe it's Wednesday already! We had a crazy Tuesday here and I am thankful that it's over.  My husband has been away for a few days on a business trip and I'm exhausted!!!

Wednesday brings us another new (and fabulous) sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Tui Nathan bring us this week's sketch.  There is a giant circle on this week's sketch.  You all know how I feel about circles!!! I discovered that the star from "The Sounding Joy" fit perfectly in a circle so we were off to the races!  I decided to make this card using my traditional Christmas colours of red (or cherry cobbler) and gold (champagne glimmer).
Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Champagne Glimmer
Stamps: The Sounding Joy
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versamark
Other: Circle Dies, Gold Embossing Powder, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

Fab Friday Christmas

Hello!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I was a tad under the weather yesterday (okay so incredibly under the weather) and was very thankful my fabulous husband took care of the boys and did other things for me around the house!  I am feeling much better today - I even got some cards done!

I decided I wanted to get some Christmas cards done since the season is approaching rather quickly and I'm nowhere near ready to go!

I used the Fab Friday sketch to get a jump start!  Who doesn't love a great sketch?!  I usually require one to start with these days!!  Blue and silver are my new go-to colours for Christmas!  Strange since my house is decorated in red and gold!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Silver Glimmer, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes
Ink: Night of Navy, Versamark
Other: Snowflake Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Dimensionals, Circle and Scalloped Circles Dies, Silver Embossing Powder

Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!!!
