Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #274

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're all having a great week so far!  Anyone else having some super weird weather? We have almost no snow - and today it poured rain.  I mean, it poured.  Ugh.  Nothing worse than rain in February.  Last week I had 10 robins hanging out in my front tree.  I don't know what they were thinking and I am hoping they were just stopping over on their way to Florida.

We have a new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  I have the honour of being this week's hostess.  I always get a little nervous when it's my turn to come up with a sketch.  I'm not really creative and I do find it challenging to come up with something that I think will work!  I'm hoping you enjoy what I've come up with!

I need to restock my birthday cards and so decided to combine the Botanical Builders from Stampin Up and the "You're So" stamp set and dies from Reverse Confetti.  I went with yellow and green which totally aren't colours I would normally pick but they jumped out at me and stuck!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Black Glimmer (Michaels)
Stamps: You're So (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Botanical Builder Dies (SU), You're So Confetti Cuts, Mini Banner Punch (SU), Basic Rhinestones, Softly Falling TIEF, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has created!

Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #273

Hello!
Happy Wednesday and Happy February!  We are getting ready for a pretty big event at our house.  My husband just happens to be turning 40 this coming Friday!  I can't believe it.  There has to be something wrong with my math since I'm pretty sure I'm only turning 30 (again!) on my next birthday.  My husband is a big hockey fan so we are having a Hockey Themed Family party for him.  He doesn't want anyone else but family so we will honour his wishes!  He did say no cake but a birthday isn't complete without a cake - ice cream cake to be exact!!!

We had a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess today is the amazing Karren Johnson!  Karren is uber creative.  She can also colour like no one's business AND she has the cutest accent!!!

Karren's sketch is super versatile.  The sky is the limit with this one!  I opted to make a simple Valentine's Day card that I can easily duplicate if I need to and use for the boys teachers!

I used some old DSP from Stampin' Up for this one!  I threw on some sparkly red hearts and added a sentiment.  I had a super hard time getting this sentiment straight.  I almost lost my marbles on this one!  Needless to say that's why it's on a banner!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Red Glimmer
DSP: Stacked with Love DSP Stack (SU Retired)
Stamps: And Many More
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Heart Punch, Itty Bitty Banners Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has come up with!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #272

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  Can you believe that it's almost the end of January?!  Where does time go?  I need to start getting ready for Valentine's Day! I don't necessarily go all out but there are a few cards that need to be finished!  It will be here before we know it!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Our hostess this week is the lovely Cecile Ribon!  Cecile is the queen of "elements"!  She always has the loveliest die cuts or sequins or whatever else on her cards!  I love them!  Check out her blog and you'll see exactly what I mean!

Now, I can imagine that you saw this sketch and laughed thinking "oh Jen, is going to love that"!  Shockingly no one on the Design Team commented on all the circles!!!  To my surprise, I knew right away what I wanted to do.  I love the circle dies from Lil Inkers and couldn't wait to get those out and some of my favourite colours of cardstock.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black
Stamps: Birthday Greetings (MFT)
Ink: Stazon
Other: Pierced Rectangle Frames (MFT), Double Stitched Circles (Lil Inkers), Stitched Flags (MFT), Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team has created for you!  We can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #271

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  It was a super rainy day here yesterday.  We don't have any snow left.  As much as I don't like snow, rain in the winter seems worse.  It was a dreary day so hopefully we'll have some sun today!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess this week is the incredibly talented Cindy Hall!  Cindy makes beautiful cards.  You need to head over to her blog and check them out!
I really do love the colours in this Carried Away DSP!  It's currently available as a Sale-A-Bration item!  Who doesn't like getting something free?!  I used some Reverse Confetti stamps here and the "fabulous" had originally embossed with silver embossing powder.  I didn't really like how it looked. As pretty as the silver is, it just didn't stand out enough so I ended up using a die to cut out the Fabulous and adding it on top.  It needed a few little sequins and I called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock; Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Night of Navy, Silver
DSP: Carried Away (SU)
Stamps: You're So (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Night of Navy
Other: Sequins (SU), You're So Confetti Cuts (Reverse Confetti), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the beautiful cards the Design Team has created!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #270

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  Our kids started back at school on Monday and though it was super nice to have them home for a couple of weeks, it was very nice to send them off to school!  I was reminded today though that there are only two months before March break starts!  Doesn't seem possible!

We have a great new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our lovely hostess is the amazing Kim Singdahlsen.  Kim has the best stash of card making supplies!  I think I would love to go and visit her and use her stuff sometime!!!
So, as you can see, I totally botched the sentiment placement on this card.  Apparently I did not see it at all.  Not sure what happened there.  I was at my mom's house when I made this card and I guess I wasn't paying attention and missed it.  Sorry about that one!

I also used all of my mom's supplies on this card and just grabbed stuff from her bins and boxes and have no idea what any of it is!  Again, my apologies.   All I really know is the black is Basic Black and the pink is Melon Mambo.  What I do know for certain is that there is some Wink of Stella on that "xoxo"!!!

I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for you!  These ladies never cease to amaze me with their creativity!

Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #269

Hello!
I'm so sorry for the technical difficulties the other day.  I was away visiting my parents and didn't bring my lap top with me.  I'm not great on blogging from my iPad and just couldn't figure it out!  Oh well!  That's okay!  I knew you would all understand!  I'm back at home now (and away from all of that crazy snow!) and have my laptop so I can easily add some pictures in!

Our hostess this week at Freshly Made Sketches is Linda Callahan!  Linda makes such great cards and she sure adds some spice to our team!  Her sense of humour is great!!!

So a few of my friends and maybe even my husband are turning 40 this year so I thought I would make a Happy 40th card while I was at my mom's!  She got the SU number stamps and dies for Christmas so I decided to Christen them for her!  She's so generous to share with me!!!  She even let me use some of her copper cardstock and copper embossing powder!  I sure love my mom!

Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the other fabulous cards the Design Team has created for you!

Have a great day!

I apologize but will have it up and running as soon as I can!
