CAS in Rich Razzleberry

Hello!  Okay, so I didn't fall off the face of the earth....it may just seem that way!  I have been busily working on some wedding invitations for a friend that I finished a few minutes ago.  They really have consumed my life for the last two weeks.  I had a minute today to work on a card before I picked up the last piece of the invitations.

I decided to give the CAS card challenge on Splitcoast stampers this week (CAS159)!  The challenge this week was just colours - Rich Razzleberry and White!  I love rich razzleberry.   I don't use it too often so it was fun to get it out and play along!

I made the bottom card first and wasn't happy so I decided to try the top one and was happier with the results!

Supplies (top card):

Freshly Made Sketches and Lego!

 Hello!
So thankful that it is almost the weekend!  I have just picked up some paper to start on some wedding invitations so the weekend is going to be invitation central here!  Not sure how many cards will get done!

Anyhow, I wanted to do up a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week!  I really liked Jennifer's sketch this week and when I see blocks now I think only one thing....LEGO!  My oldest son is going to have a Lego birthday party this year for his 6th birthday so I decided to work ahead and make a great card for his little brother to give him!

I also wanted to give the Loved Ones stamp set a try.   This stamp set is in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalogue!

Supplies (for my Lego card):
Cardstock:  Pacific Point, Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Daffodil Delight
Stamps: Loved Ones
Ink: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Basic Black
Other: 1/2" Circle Punch

The card below is one my mom made for my oldest son for Valentine's Day!  My mom is so creative!  Caleb's eyes lit up when he saw this card.  He was so happy!  Lego cards are so fun and they can really delight a little person's heart so much!  Thanks so much mom!!!  Caleb sure loves you!

Soaring Wishes

Hello!

I'm a little slow at getting around to my challenges from last week and this week!  I'm so ashamed!!!  It has been a crazy week and it's only going to get crazier!

The current CAS-ual Fridays challenge was to create a CAS (Clean and Simple) card using paper piecing.  I immediately thought of the "Send Me Soaring" stamp set from the Stampin' Up Occasions Mini Catalogue.  I knew one of the kites and the clouds would be perfect to use.

For anyone who doesn't understand paper piecing...that's when you cut out little pieces of paper (or big pieces depending on your image) and glue them into a stamped image.  I stamped the kite image first on my cardstock then again on my DSP and cut out the pieces and the glued them onto the stamped image on my cardstock.  I also stamped the cloud images on my whisper white cardstock and cut them out.  I realized after I finished my card that kites were a popular theme for this particular challenge!

If you're thinking that this card looks a lot like yesterday's card...it does...I'm sorry.  The kites just seemed to fit into the similar background I had used for my airplane valentine!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
DSP: Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight (Patterns Stack)
Stamps:  Send Me Soaring, Up Up and Away
Ink: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue
Other: Lattice Embossing Folder

Up in the Air

Hello!
How was your Valentine's Day?  I had a great day!  It started out by helping out in the Kindergarten class and cooking pancakes while crouching on the floor in the hall!  I made some chocolate covered strawberries for dessert tonight.  They were delicious.  My youngest loved them so much he devoured them stem and all...my husband and I have never laughed so hard!

I wanted to post a picture of the Valentine's Day card I made for my husband!  I also made it for a customer's husband who also loves airplanes!  The Create a Cupcake Punch makes perfect clouds!

I thought I would post a picture of my husband's "baby".  This is his Pitt's Biplane.  He built it himself (from instructions which happened to be in German).  He did an amazing job and this plane has been featured in several Remote Control Airplane magazines!

I should say that my oldest son considers this plane his!  The love of planes runs deep in our family!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Stamps: Up, Up and Away, Airplane (non SU)
Ink: Real Red, Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Basic Grey
Other: Create a Cupcake Punch,  Circle Punches, Scalloped Edge Trimmer (non-SU), Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Textured Lattice Embossing Folder

Cup of Love

Hello!
I must apologize for being MIA for the last few days!  I've been filling card orders and that has taken up a lot of my time!  I am also about to fill a wedding invitation order so I may be sporadic over the next couple of weeks!

So Valentine's Day!  Who doesn't love it?!  My husband and I will be celebrating our 16th Valentine's Day together!  Hard to believe I was only 18 when we started dating!

This isn't the card I made for my husband but the one I made for my mom and dad and for my son's teacher.  My parents and I love tea and one of my favourite things is to have tea with my parents!  I figured this was perfect.  I pinned it on Pinterest and will post the link tomorrow!

My son's teacher, Mrs. Cooper is a lovely lady who starts each day with a coffee from McDonald's.  I don't blame her!  My son wrote her a little one on one side of the insert and we attached a McDonald's gift card to the other side.

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Apothecary!

Hello!

I finally was able to spend a few minutes in my craft room today!  Who know this week would turn into craziness!  Anyhow, I love tackling the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  This week Lesley had another great sketch.

My card didn't exactly turn out the way I thought it was going to.  This wasn't at all the card I had in my head when I started.  I'm probably going to give it another whirl later this week...I guess that would be tomorrow wouldn't it?!

Anyhow, the new Apothecary stamp set and the Framelits Labels Dies are so fun to work with!

Stamps: Apothecary Art
Ink: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze
