Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #192

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  We're in the home stretch of the school year. Us Canadians have to go until the end of June.  The kids are so done with school though but they're plugging away.  It's been a good year for both boys.  They loved their teachers and they are both sad that they are moving on.  I am thankful for four teachers who put so much effort and energy and love into my boys!  They appreciated every minute!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our fabulous hostess is none other than the amazing Jen Mitchell!  Jen is my card making hero!  Her cards always leave me smiling.  I love her style!
I was in charge of doing a group class gift for the four wonderful teachers that we had this year.  I decided that I would keep the card fairly straight forward.  I love the Class Act stamp set from Reverse Confetti and couldn't wait to crack it open for these cards!  I added a bit of white craft ink to make the front look a little chalky - which is rather funny since there isn't a single chalkboard in our school!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Memento, Real Red, Gumball Green, Early Espresso, Basic Grey, Whisper White Craft Ink
Stamps: Class Act (Reverse Confetti)
Other: Class Act Confetti Cuts, Large Dots Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog to see what the Design Team has created for you as your inspiration!  You won't be disappointed.

Have a fabulous Day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #191

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Can you believe it's already the middle of June!  Wow!  Father's Day is fast approaching!  I can't believe how that snuck up on me!  I don't live all that close to my parents so I don't get to see my dad for Father's Day but that sure doesn't mean I don't appreciate him.  He is the best dad and Papa in the world!

We have a fun sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the amazing Jennifer Timko!  Jen creates such beautiful cards!  They are so creative and I am always inspired by what she's done!  Check out her blog and you will not be disappointed!

Jen's sketch is very open for interpretation this week!  I was a little worried since I wanted to use it to make a Father's Day card!  I love the Open Sea (a lot!!!) and so I decided to combine that with some double garland banners from Reverse Confetti!  Some blue, red and white to make it even more nautical and I called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Silver
Stamps: The Open Sea, Crazy For You
Ink: Night of Navy, Crumb Cake
Other: Double Garland Banner Die (Reverse Confetti), Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out all the amazing cards the design team has created for you!!!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #190

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you've had a great start to your week!  I spent most of my day yesterday doing some cutting for our church camp this summer.  One of the projects we are making requires 225 envelopes.  I got those cut yesterday but the scoring and punching may take a while!  I think I need to pick easier projects!

Being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Amy O'Neill.  Amy has the most amazing eye for colour and comes up with the best colour combinations!  Check out her blog and all of her creative cards!

I must admit that this sketch may have given me a slight challenge!  I need an anniversary card this week.  You see my mom and dad are celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary next week and I wanted to make them a card that needed to get in the mail yesterday!  That oval threw me for a loop though!  I also realized in the creating of this card that I only one one stamp that says "Happy Anniversary".  I could have used "welcome baby" and my mom and dad probably would have gotten a big chuckle out of it but I decided to go with "Happiness Always" instead!

I used the flower from Secret Garden and coloured it using Blendabilities.  The flower started out as a Rich Razzleberry flower but ended up being Daffodil Delight!  I tell you, sometimes cards come together easy and sometimes they take a LONG time!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black
DSP: Brights Paper Stack (Retired)
Stamps: Secret Garden, And Many More
Ink: Stazon Black, Moss Meadow
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Oval Spellbinders, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Secret Garden Framelits, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards the Design Team has created for your viewing pleasure!

Have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #189

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We had a great weekend.  My parents came down for a visit and my mom so willingly helped me with my camp preparations.  She tied man, many little knots for me!  I am very grateful of her willingness to do such a fiddly job for me!  I'm one step closer to being finished my projects for camp!

We have a great new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today!  Our hostess is the amazing Narelle Farrugia.  Narelle is the queen of beautiful layers, fussy cut flowers and overall fabulous cards!  You need to check out her blog!

See that giant circle in there?  It didn't phase me once!  Of course my card is almost entirely white.  I have some strange obsession with white and big white spaces.  I threw some melon mambo in there but I must admit that I originally had it ALL white!  I wanted to keep it simple.  I like simple.   I think I'm just losing all form of creativity to be honest!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Stamps: Endless Birthday Wishes
Ink: Black Stazon
Other: Stitched Rectangles, Stitched Tags, Double Stitched Circles, Stitched Squares (all Lil' Inkers), Circle Garland Confetti Cut (Reverse Confetti), Dimensionals, Basic Rhinestones.

Thanks so much for stopping in today!

Please head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog.  Our design team has created some amazing cards for you to see!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #188

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week!  I can't believe that we are already in the last week of May!  Where on earth did May go?!  My oldest turned 9 last week!  I remember the day I went into labour with him like it was yesterday.  Seems unreal that it could be 9 years ago.

Being Wednesday, we have a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our lovely hostess this week is none other than the talented Karren Johnson!  Karren makes such beautiful cards!  I love her creativity!
I put this card together rather quickly but I can't say that I'm thrilled with it.  I wanted to do black, white and gold but I realize now I should have used vanilla instead of white!  I didn't have time to go back and try and change it!  I had to add some butterflies because, well, who doesn't love butterflies!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamps: In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti), Butterfly Basics
Ink: Versamark
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Butterfly Thinlits, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Basic Pearls, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the fabulous cards the Design Team has created!  You will not be disappointed!

Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #187

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  This week is flying by already!  We had such an amazing long weekend!  The boys went flying Saturday morning then we headed to Niagara Falls Saturday afternoon.  After a great game of mini golf, dinner at the rainforest cafe and a ride on the Skywheel we headed to the Greg Frewin Magic Show!  It was amazing.  The boys were in awe!  I mean, how do you make someone disappear and then replace them with a tiger?  The boys did a little quad copter flying with a friend on the weekend and of course there were a few dips in the pool!  Now we are back to winter here and the windchill tonight is supposed to be below zero!

We have a great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our amazing hostess is Cindy Lovell!  Cindy is so talented and her cards are so creative!  Hop over to her blog and check out all her fine creations!

I need to have a few birthday cards on hand for some upcoming special events!   I love "The Tweet Life" from Reverse Confetti!  Those birds just make me smile!  I wish I could colour them but I'm not a big fan of colouring and I haven't yet started my collection of Copics!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
DSP: Retired scraps from SU!
Stamps: The Tweet Life (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Memento Black
Other: 4X4 Journal Die (My Creative time), Double Banner Die Confetti Cuts, The Tweet Life Confetti Cuts, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

 They aren't twins at all!!!

 My and my sweet Jake

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #186

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  Can you believe it's Wednesday already?!  Wow!  Where did the week go?  Where is May going?  My oldest son's 9th birthday is fast approaching.  I don't know where the time has gone!

We have had a chilly start to the week here.  We had a lovely weekend and suddenly the winds have blown in some mighty cold air.  I am looking forward to that warm summery weather coming back very soon!

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  I have the privilege of being this week's hostess.  I always feel so inferior next to the talented group of ladies that I work with!  What an honour to get to create cards with these gals every week!

Yup, that's a circle you see on that sketch!  Can you believe I did that?!  I am trying to cure myself of that aversion to circles!  Actually, truth be told, I knew the sentiment I wanted to use when I came up with the sketch and knew it would fit nicely in a circle - I didn't realize my circle would turn out so big!

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant
Stamps: In a Big Way (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Other: Big Polka Dot TIEF, Stitched Rectangles (Lil' Inkers), Circle Punch, Edge Dies (Lil' Inkers - honestly I can't remember what they're called!), Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week!

Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches Blog to see the cards the Design Team has created for you!  They are amazing (as always!)!

Have a fabulous day!
