Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #505

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We had the most amazing weekend hiking up a mountain.  It was so incredible!  We're already planning our next one!  I honestly can't believe how beautiful our country is and I find it incredible that Alberta especially has been able to keep the parks and hiking trails looking natural.  It makes the hiking experience even more amazing!

Speaking of amazing, we have a fabulous new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the super talented Narelle Farrugia!  Narelle's cards are always so gorgeous so you need to head to her blog and check them out!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #504

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We are counting down the days until a big hike on Saturday!  We can't wait.  Okay, my husband I can't wait.  It's going to be a huge ordeal and the kids are going to express their discontent the entire way but I know the view at the end is going to totally be worth it and that is what makes it amazing!

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the fabulous Karren Johnson!  Karren is one of the most amazing card makers that I know!  All the rest of those amazing card makers are also on this team!!  Please head to her blog and check out her gorgeous cards!

So I had wanted to make a fall card.  I had a plan in my head but it didn't quite come to fruition.  Go figure!  I decided to go for the pine cones and pine boughs instead.  The first time I used this die set I decided I wasn't sure I wanted to use it too often.  But...I tried something different and it worked awesomely.  I wish the green yardstick layer had a bit of texture but alas.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Evening Evergreen, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Basic White

DSP: Painted Christmas

Stamps: Christmas to Remember

Ink: Early Espresso

Other: Christmas Pinecone Dies,  Gold Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the amazing cards that the Design Team created!

Have a fabulous day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #502

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
I hope you're having a good week so far!  If you're in Canada, your kids might have just started back at school after a year of disruptions and virtual learning.  My boys are in brand new schools this year and their first day was yesterday.  I think it might have been harder on me than them.  A whole series of "what if's" went through my head all day.  School can be so hard for some.  I do hope they have a great year!

We have a brand new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I have the honour of being this week's hostess!  I went with a pretty basic sketch!  I really am not all that creative!  I do hope you'll play along with us this week!

So I originally wanted a fall card.  I love fall and wanted to use some of my new leaf dies but I just couldn't make it work.  Let's just say I'm in a bit of a slump!  I opted for Christmas since I need to get my act together!  It is soon going to be Christmas!  Can you believe it?!

My poinsettia dies are going to be some of the most used dies I have!  I just love them!  The Peaceful Prints DSP has the most gorgeous red plaid paper that I couldn't resist using!  It's just gorgeous!  Red might just be one of my favourite colours!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Silver Foil
DSP: Peaceful Prints
Stamps: Poinsettia Petals
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Poinsettia Dies, Banner Dies, Dimensionals

Thanks again for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the card the Design Team have created!  I also hope you'll join in our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #501

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We are gearing up for a new school year here in brand new schools.  I think I'm more nervous than the kids.  I don't think I would do very well being the new kid in a school.  My introverted personality doesn't like change too much!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in Freshly Made Sketches' 500th sketch challenge!  We had some amazing entries and it was so fun to see everyone's cards.  We have a brand new sketch this week from the amazing Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim's cards are always so beautiful so you'll want to head over to her blog and check them out!
Kim's sketch is pretty fun!  I had some fun playing around with different colour and paper combinations!  I am regretting not matting the patterned paper.  Not much I can do about that now!!  I pulled out my favourite sunflower die and went to town!  I wanted a fall'ish theme to this one!  I'm totally getting into the fall mood (my pumpkins are still nicely packed away but they're coming out soon)!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Bumblebee, Garden Green, Be Dazzling Specialty
DSP: Harvest Meadow
Stamps: Itty Bitty Birthdays
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Sunflower Dies, Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team have created!  I also hope you'll join in our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #500!!!!

Hello and welcome to our 500th sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I can't believe we're at 500!!!  I kinda think this is a pretty good reason to celebrate!  You definitely need to head to the blog and check out the details on what's going on!  There are prizes to be won people!  You will not want to miss out on this celebration!

Our hostess this week is the amazing Linda Callahan!  She has a fabulous sketch for us on this momentous occasion!  You will definitely want to head over to her blog to check out her slew of incredible cards!

I feel like fall has arrived here in Alberta.  I am so tempted to get out my pumpkin collection just so I can enjoy it a whole lot longer than normal!  The temperature has dropped here considerably and while Ontario is getting super hot and super humid weather, we are getting cooler, more fall'ish temperatures!  Call me crazy but I could live with these temperatures all year round!  I don't miss the extreme heat or humidity!

Anyhow, I love the new Intricate Leaves dies from Stampin Up!  I love the Harvest Meadow DSP and decided it would be perfect to go with my fall leaves.  As a side note, there are no "colourful" leaves in Alberta.  I am going to miss that part of fall!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic White, Cajun Craze, Bumble Bee, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Soft Succulent
DSP: Harvest Meadow
Stamps: Beautiful Autumn
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Intricate Leaves Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder, Twine, Dimensionals

I hope you will join our celebratory challenge this week!  All winners will be picked at random so everyone has a chance to win!

Please head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and read through all of the details.  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #499

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having an amazing week so far!  Yesterday we got rain.  This is a HUGE deal for us.  It's been weeks and weeks since we've had rain.  Everything was so dry.  Scary dry.  Wildfires are a big deal out here. We had one in Canmore which is about an hour from us and that's crazy close!  Hopefully with the rain, the fires will be a little more under control.

We have a fabulous new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  Our hostess this week is the fabulous Jen Mitchell!  Jen is the queen of clean for sure and makes the most gorgeous cards.  Head over to her blog and check them out!

At first I thought this card would be no problem.  In my head I had an idea of what I wanted to do for this card but I had a really hard time making it work.  Of course I switched to Plan B but that one didn't work so I opted for Plan C and that didn't work so I went back to Plan A and worked and worked and finally ended up with a card.

I really love the Christmas Pinecone dies...but I will admit they are a bit of a pain to work with.  Let's just say I don't want to have to make a lot of these!!  The brand new Timber Embossing Folder is fabulous and gave the card the texture it needed.  I added some Wink of Stella to the pinecones because they looked a little naked.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Basic White, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Soft Succulent
Stamps: Christmas to Remember
Ink: Versamark
Other: Christmas Pinecone Dies, Seasonal Label Dies, Timber 3D Embossing Folder, Wink of Stella,  White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the collection of cards the Design Team has put together for you!

We can't wait to see what you create this week!
Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #498

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  We are "on vacation" which is more of a staycation to be honest!  Trevor actually had to work today and we had someone coming to talk about some cabinets we need.  On Monday we did a 13 km hike starting at Lake Louise and climbing up to Little Beehive.  It was incredible.  The view was spectacular and the air so fresh.  I was so impressed that my kids lasted the whole time!  Today we're biking and we'll start in Banff and bike on the highway (they close one of the highways just for bikers) and see how far we can get!

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the incredibly talented Jennifer Timko!  Jen's cards are absolutely gorgeous and you'll want to head to her blog to check them out!

I actually loved Jen's sketch this week.  It didn't take me too long to figure out what I wanted to do!  I love the new Nature's Harvest stamp set and the Harvest Dies!  I used the coordinating Harvest Meadow DSP (which is so pretty) as well!  I went with a white silhouette look.  I loved how it looked with that paper!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Misty Moonlight, Basic White
DSP: Harvest Meadow
Stamps: Itty Bitty Birthdays
Ink: Star On Black
Other: Harvest Dies, Dimensionals, Oval dies (Spellbinders)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team members have created.  They knocked this one out of the park!

Have an amazing day!
