Freshly Made Sketches #626

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  March has come into Calgary like a raging lion.  We started off the month with lots of snow and super cold temperatures.  I am sure hoping that March goes out like a lamb but this is Canada, I won't hold my breath.  We do desperately need the snow - we are already looking at a drought so any snow is better than no snow I guess!

We've got a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is our French designer Cecile Ribon!  Cecile's cards are always spectacular so make sure you head over to her blog and prepare to be wowed!

When I first saw Cecile's sketch I was a little nervous.  Not only is there a giant circle but it's cut in half!  Half circles!  What on earth do I do with half circles?!  I remembered for a card a long time ago I had cut some sunflower dies in half.  I realized I could do that again!  So, off I went to make some sunflowers!  I'm running a little low on my daffodil delight so I just used my white cardstock and blended it with brushes.  The sunflower looked a little naked on the page so I decided to stencil some honeycombs onto the page using the Distress Oxides!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Hammermill White Coverstock, Sahara Sand (SU) Copper Foil (SU)
Ink: Scattered Straw, Pumice Stone, Scorched Timber, Ground Espresso (All Distress Oxides)
Other: Lovely Layers Sunflowers (Honey Bee Stamps), Sunflower Dies (SU), Mini Everyday Sentiments (Spellbinders), Brown Foil, Glimmer Hot Foil Machine, Grain and Grunge Gem Stickers (Honey Bee Stamps), Honey Comb Stencil

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and join in our challenge this week.  We can't wait to see what you create!  You have until 1 PM EST on Monday to get your card entered!

If you need some inspiration you will want to head over to the blog and see some fantastic cards from our Design Team!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #501

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great start to your week!  We are gearing up for a new school year here in brand new schools.  I think I'm more nervous than the kids.  I don't think I would do very well being the new kid in a school.  My introverted personality doesn't like change too much!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in Freshly Made Sketches' 500th sketch challenge!  We had some amazing entries and it was so fun to see everyone's cards.  We have a brand new sketch this week from the amazing Kim Singdahlsen!  Kim's cards are always so beautiful so you'll want to head over to her blog and check them out!
Kim's sketch is pretty fun!  I had some fun playing around with different colour and paper combinations!  I am regretting not matting the patterned paper.  Not much I can do about that now!!  I pulled out my favourite sunflower die and went to town!  I wanted a fall'ish theme to this one!  I'm totally getting into the fall mood (my pumpkins are still nicely packed away but they're coming out soon)!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Bumblebee, Garden Green, Be Dazzling Specialty
DSP: Harvest Meadow
Stamps: Itty Bitty Birthdays
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Sunflower Dies, Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team have created!  I also hope you'll join in our challenge this week!

Have an amazing day!

I hope you're having a great week!  We are back in business here!  Our family has settled in our new home after our cross country move and the craft cave has been unpacked and set up!  It's been a crazy few weeks but we're slowly getting used to our new digs and getting in some cool mountain hikes.

We have a great new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess is the amazing Jacquie Southas.  You need to head over to her blog to check out her gorgeous cards!

I'm a little rusty and lacking creativity at the moment but I knew I needed some thank you cards so I forced myself to get out the paper and craft!  I opted for two different colour combinations because I couldn't decide which one I liked better!

DSP: Pattern Party
Stamps: Peaceful Moments
Ink: Stazon Black
Other: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Sunflower Dies, Gold and Black Thread, Black Rhinestones, Gold Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #453

Hello!

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  School has officially started for both of my kids.  I have one in school full time and one who goes a bit less than part time.  High school is mostly online and is organized and so far so good.  The elementary schools are trying their best and I'm hopeful that all will be well.  Truthfully if I think about it too much, it makes me want to throw up!  Thankfully my youngest has a great attitude about school and is super excited to be there and doesn't seem to mind wearing a mask all day!

It's Wednesday and that means that we have a fun new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the lovely Judy Rozema!  Judy's cards area always beautiful!  Did you see what she created last week out of a blob?!  Check her blog to find out!

For those of you who know me, you know that as soon as I saw that giant circle I freaked out.  Then Judy went and added a second one in as well!  Two!  Oh goodness!  I struggled friend.  Struggled.  It wasn't until I saw some stamp company advertising some new stitched pumpkins that I realized I could make my own giant pumpkin!  Totally old school!

I used some oval dies, embossed the ovals, inked them and put them together.  The stem is totally hand cut because I didn't know what else to do!  I added some fall foliage and voila, a fall themed card!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard

DSP:  In Good Taste

Stamps: Acorny Thank You

Ink: Early Espresso

Other: Oval Dies, Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder, Colourful Seasons Dies, Sunflower Dies, Braided Linen Trim, Dimensionals

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and enter our challenge this week!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #446

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  My husband blessed me with a week by myself with my mom and dad!  He has a light week at work this week so offered to take the kids while I stayed for another week visiting my parents.  After not seeing them for over 7.5 months I was totally game.  Depending on how our Covid #'s look over the next little while, I wanted to get a good visit in in case we get locked back down again.

We have a brand new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is the amazing Linda Callahan.  Linda is not only hilarious but she makes super cute cards!  Head on over to her blog to check them out!

Linda is taking us to new levels with her sketch!  This week we're going slim!  I can't say that I've ever made a slimline card so this was a new experience for me!  If you're wondering what envelopes to put them in, I used a regular long envelope but apparently a #10 works as well (maybe they're the same thing?!)!

I was a little stumped on what to put on my card but my super creative mom suggested a fall card and thankfully has the most wonderful leaf stamps and dies (which I'm thinking might accidentally get put in my bag to make the trip back home!)  She also happened to have some stalks left that I had cut and sent her for fall cards last year!  I am totally going to give her all the credit for the idea of this card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Copper Foil
DSP: Plaid Tidings
Stamps: Beautiful Autumn, Vintage Leaves
Ink: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze
Other: Gathered Leaves Dies, Sunflower Dies, Nested Labels, Leaflets Framelits, Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder, Copper Ribbon

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll go and check out the gorgeous cards on the Freshly Made Sketches blog!  The Design Team did an amazing job creating beautiful cards!

Have an amazing day!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #445

Hello!
Happy Wednesday! I hope your week has started well!  The boys and I are at my parents this week and thoroughly enjoying our visit (and being stuffed full of delicious food and sweets!).  We hadn't seen my parents in 7.5 months and are so grateful to be able to visit with them now (after Covid testing of course)!  I've also enjoyed being able to make some cards with my mom!  Doesn't get much better than that!

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week courtesy of Jen Mitchell!  Jen takes her cards to the next level in terms of clean and simple.  I absolutely love her clean backgrounds and pretty designs.  Head over to her blog to check them out!  They sure are stunning.
So I absolutely love the new Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP that will be available in our Mini Catalogue coming out at the beginning of August.  Fall paper and fall colours just speak to me and this paper is right up my alley!  I paired this fabulous paper with the Sunflower Dies and voila!

I made a second card (also with the same Gilded Autumn paper and sunflower) just because I loved the first one so much! You can never have too many fall themed birthday cards can you?  At least I don't think so!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Mint Macaron, Gold Foil, Copper Foil
DSP: Gilded Autumn Specialty
Stamps: Beautiful Autumn
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Sunflower Dies, Nested Labels Dies, Dimensionals

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you'll head over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and check out the cards that have been posted.  The Design Team knocked this one out of the park!

Have an amazing day!
